Genuine Question, why is this a meta shake-up?

As a Killer I am still going to run Pop, Pain Res, and Dead lock because I there literally is no better perks.
I would LOVE TO RUN FUN BUILDS, but I can't get any fun out of them because the game is already halfway over before I get 3 hooks.

I don't understand how its a meta shake-up, when instead of buffing bad perks. They nerf perks that Killers are still going to use.

    CC's seem to think otherwise

Out of pure curiousity, what is this if not a meta shake-up?
It's definitely not a balance change because they would've buffed other perks to make every perk more in line.

It’s a nerf to a bunch of the strongest perks to make them less frustrating to play against.

But you are correct that this will not really change the meta much, at least on the killer side. It will just make the killer meta a little less oppressive. I doubt Pain Res will actually drop in usage that much, it’s still strong at 20% regression.

A meta shake-up would mean that the meta will change. But it wont. Slowdown is still the most efficent combination to go with for starters. Its clearly a balance change, cause those perks are the most annoying combination to go against right now and are not healthy.

If the chat was moderated and there was a three strike and out moderation system which was FAIR (like there is on PSN) then it would heavily reduce toxicity.

It has worked on PSN so far (almost anyway lol)

Do you get a lot of hate messages endgame on PC? I haven't had hate mail in so long on Console.

I'd also like to suggest us getting more communication emotes/methods in game too, that's honestly the reason a lot of people TB. Because we have 3 emotes and one allows you to move whilst using it. Imagine a survivor at the exit gates but instead of TB'ing they decide to wave their arms from left to right? ik you'd find that funny surely and even if they did decide to be toxic end game you'd just simply be able to ignore it. But I do agree that toxicity can take it's toll.

Moderation is the only way that will be resolved, if the game was more strict on enforcing toxicity it would definitely be reduced.. however, me personally I don't really care if someone is toxic to me so, I guess its different from person to person.

So if your still gonna use those perks then why complain?

Why are Pop/Pain Res annoying? I don't use the other two, so I can't say, but both of the former require hooks, and one can only be used four times.

The last time people didnt want survivors to use DH & Sprint burst. Devs gave MFT & Background player. You know how it went.

It isn't going to change a thing. In fact it most likely make killer builds even more slowdown focus. To survivors surprise not all of us run 4 slowdown perks but with these nerfs you most likely going to see it even more. You may even see even more slugging, camping and tunneling.

For example in all my builds I use at max two slowdown but going forward I think I'm going to have to add a 3rd or even a 4th thanks to these nerfs. The meta going to get even more staler and guess what survivors are continue to complain about slowdown perks bc new flash they have always hated slowdown. Survivors use to complain about Ruin and undying meta. Nothing going to change.

It doesn't need to be a meta shakeup per se, and I wouldn't call any of the perks aside from Pop majorly nerfed, but now the people running four slowdowns every game will actually have to play for matches that don't involve 3-4 SWF. Individually, these changes aren't anything big, but together? They add up. I'm surprised DMS wasn't touched tbh

This update is not a meta shake-up.

It's a slap on the wrist for all the nerfed killer perks.

To be fair, they'd tell you the same thing, if you won with 5 gens remaining. This has nothing to do with perks but with horrible people.

Then isn't that a problem with your team, not the perk? To get anything out of the perks, the killer has to put the work in to be rewarded with their usage, and one can only be used once per survivor.

I think people calling it a meta shake up believe that killer players will intelligently interpret these changes as a reason to try out other types of perks.

I agree with you, i think killer players are by and large going to double down on regression, even though it's been nerfed, instead of picking chase perks that more directly help the killer's actual win con.

Genuine Question, why is this a meta shake-up?

If you want to run fun perks, then run fun perks. Don't make excuses. A large part of players problems stems from constantly using meta perks. These perks carry them into a higher MMR than they have the actual skill for. Then once they are in a higher MMR than they have the skill for, they are pushed into a situation where they feel they "have to" use certain perks or they will get run over. Don't you see that you are the architect of your own miserable situation? Just play whatever perks and playstyle you think is fun and you will naturally find yourself in the correct MMR and have more enjoyable matches. You also won't be so effected by whatever balance changes come and go.
