These 2 things must be addressed
First one is hook suicides / DC. This is by far one of the most annoying things currently in game when playing solo queue. It's even worse than being hard tunneled. It's obviously impossible in the current version of the game to punish hook suicide so you straight up just need to remove the ability of a survivor to progress through hook stages. Rework any hook related perks and force people to DC if they want to quit the game. This enables harsher punishments for people who DC. You don't even need to increase the time penalty. Add a rep/karma system which places constant offenders into a groups of like minded individuals. Force them to complete games to get back in to positive matchmaking groups or let them rot with long queues and other players who DC on them all the time. Ultimately they will either quit or learn that their actions have consequences.
Second is proximity camping. Proximity camping is huge at the moment and the current anti camping mechanic is a complete joke. I've seen it work a handful of times. Proximity camping is literally holding the game hostage. Survivors don't want to be unsportsmanlike and not attempt rescuing and hooked survivors are powerless and often just kill themselves. Killers aren't doing any objectives and are basically stalling the game by constantly doing hook trades until someone gives up. The anti camping mechanic needs to be reworked to be significantly more punishing or you could just remove it completely by treating hooks in the same way pyramid heads cages work. Force the killer to move and punish them for being bad at the game.
These 2 things are currently destroying DBD for everyone on both sides. It's really not uncommon to put the game on and get 4-5 games back to back with either of these things happening. At that stage I'm just like screw it and turn the game off for a few days. The longer this goes on the more I lose interest and I'm sure I'm not the only person that feels this way. There's literally zero point in shaking up the meta when you have core mechanics that are rotting the game away at its core.

How about addressing the issues that CAUSE people to give up in soloQ, instead of band-aiding the symptoms?

I just did it's called proximity camping which is probably the number one cause of people giving up.
Getting downed early because of lethal pursuer is not a reason to give up. Facing a killer that you don't like is not a reason. Not getting rescued within 15 seconds is not a reason.

Exactly, alot of the time Proximity camping is usually not the problem but rather the type of killer's they face or the overall pace of the game. If the killer is able to secure a couple of downs or even a kill and no Generators are done, that is begging them to rage quit/hook suicide. If the killer happens to be a God level nurse player or skull merchant (which most folks have PTSD with her infamous playstyle, before her Rework), that they want to be sour and rage quit regardless. Alot of these soloQ players needs to take break from the game and accept this game can be bit repetitive and stale, as well as not be a poor sport and cause such a disruption in standard gameplay and leave the match.
But... I would be down with reworking the gamemode to add more fun and interactive gameplay as well as quality of life improvement, Like public voice chat

Exactly, but it's not a valid reason to spit the dummy out is it?

Cool what's the number one cause then? A valid reason not just because the player gets downed early or doesn't like facing a certain killer. A real reason that's actually part of the current game mechanics and not just some made up survivor BS excuse.
Proximity camping is holding the game hostage because it's 99% of the time a lose lose situation for solo queue players. Not sure if we're playing the same solo queue games but if you just do gens when someone is getting proximity camped they will kill themselves 9 times out of 10 and leave you with 3 players on 3-4 gens. If you attempt a hook trade and leave the next person chances are they will kill themselves leaving you in the same situation.
Proximity camping can be managed by treating hooks the same as pyramid heads cage mechanic and killing yourself on hook can be managed by removing the pointless skill checks. Both of these changes would make the game significantly better for both parties.
Please enlighten me with some of your ideas since you seem to have a different idea of why people are making the game unplayable for the rest of us.

You're basing your assumptions on what you think survivors will do in certain scenarios if they made changes like this. In my experience a lot of matches could have easily been won if someone didn't kill themselves on hook because of some silly reason. Removing the ability at least gives people the chance to see that all hope isn't lost and will in most cases make a person engage again if they even have a slight chance at winning. This is common in most online games when there is a competitive element involved so DBD isn't going to be any different.
I'm not saying it has to be exactly like pyramid head cages, but the idea of teleporting someone initially to another map location literally forces the killer to engage and move around the map. That one change alone would reduce the amount of camping and tunneling and removing the hook state timer forces people to at least to commit to a game that lasts 10 mins, which imo isn't a big ask when you decide to play with 4 other people.
Imho, you should think about your responses before calling someone else out. Your reasoning is vague and based on your own opinions about what the survivor mindset is. You offer no examples of why these things are an issue in the first place and don't elaborate on what could be done to fix things. Like what do you even consider a valid reason for quitting? Seems like you think it's okay to ######### on hook at the detriment to other players for some stupid reason like you don't like facing X or you hate that map. You talk about bandaid fixing, yet you don't mention what issue is being bandaid fixed.
My suggestions aren't new and I've seen a lot of people throw around ideas about teleport hooking and removing timers. It's not a complete solution and will come with it's own issues, but it's a start to resolving some of the most serious issues plaguing DBD at the moment. I.e camping, tunneling & suicide/DC.
