I'm always for cross progression even though I only play on one system. I hope it is true also!

they mention it in the video, I can't see them putting that video out and then saying "it's not coming".

    I'm hoping it's all platforms.

This is what i've wanted. 🙏Performance on my pc has been getting worse recently so i'd like to start playing on PS5.

Also this is most likely a result of a survey question that was asked some months ago

Before this they always said they couldn't do cross progression because they weren't able to have DLC transferred across all platforms but it looks like now after the survey they're willing to release it without it. It will definitely suck having to buy all DLCs again but i am willing to and anniversary will probably have good sales on DLC which it usually does.

To be realistic though there is a possibility that not all platforms are supported. If one isn't the most likely one is that playstation won't be supported. Since PS is usually the most difficult when it comes to cross-play and progression but i feel like if dbd on playstation already has cross play and i feel like that makes it much more likely it'll have cross progression too. And there is games that have cross progression on ps like Overwatch 2 and Fortnite.

    I mean..

I wanna say they CANT tease crossprogression like this without specifying which platform to not let people down after hyping them up.

but then again… Switch cross progression was confirmed like an eternity ago with a set month and we are still here without it and I have bought the game on Switch only because of cross progression 😐

I'm all for any form of Cross Progression, especially for our long-suffering Switch cousins. Just surprised the reasons why it is been asked for repeatedly and loudly pretty much since the ports happened isn't brought up as much.

Yeah I remember this survey question, I’d be willing to bet this is what they are going to do if it’s clear to them that it’s the only way they can do it. It’s better than not having it at all

I hope if we get cross progression from Xbox to PC it will allow accounts to be merged. I have my old Xbox account with almost all killers from p3-p10 and a lot of cosmetics. On my PC account I have every survivor and killer but most are only p1

I'm tentatively looking forward to it, but I have lots of questions about how it might work. Will the prestiges for my mains on both Switch and PC be merged? (not a big deal if they do, but I like to keep a low prestige default Dwight on Switch specifically for running a silly locker perk build). Will content that came free with the Switch version become accessible on PC or stay locked to that platform? And a lot of my licensed Killers were bought as DLC on PC, so I'm guessing I won't be able to use those on my Switch?

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Even if we just get to share the stuff we unlocked in the shrine/events/rifts, that will still be pretty neat.

Yes, a lot of players get up in arms when this is said "OMG STOP SPECULATING" but it's just a fact based on other online games that Sony does not like to give content for free. So the only reason Fortnite was able to do it was they pay Sony whenever someone buys something on another platform but uses it on a Sony platform. Other game companies have said their inability to do this is why they don't have cross progression. While BHVR has not given a reason, that question really really suggests that's the reason.

Wait, did BHVR actually say that is the reason they could not do it? Because every time I say that in any Twitch chat, 2-3 people rip into me to stop speculating.

January 2022, Justin the Product Manager

“So we put out a statement a few months ago but with all the technical aspects beyond our control, transferring DLC between platforms has not really been possible. We’re aiming to deliver the best, most consistent cross-progression experience we can, but unfortunately I’m not able to provide a clear ETA on when we can expect it for the Switch. We’re still trying to get things sorted out and as soon as we have a more concrete date to share, we’ll let you guys know.”

My theory is that at some point they thought they could get DLCs cross progressing working on switch which is why they announced it for only the switch but then for some reason they couldn't do it anymore.

Now after they put out the survey asking if people would still want cross progression without DLCs transferring, it looks like they are gonna go ahead without DLCs transferring most likely.

To be fair this is still speculation but i feel like this explanation makes sense.

It's reasonable for BHVR to think people will be pissed about cross progress not transferring DLC but after the survey maybe they decided it would still be worth doing anyways.

Will that content that came free with the Switch version become accessible on PC
