I was matched with 3 prestige 81+ survivors as an unprestige, newbie killer
I dont know who had the bright idea of matching over 300 points in prestige (the fourth guy was prestige 74) in total against a newbie but it was absolutely awful. I didnt land a single hook, i was blinded A LOT of times and i mean a lot, easily 20+ (to the point im considering billy for my first prestige just to get lightborn)
Also, several times i was blinded from the side? Shouldnt a survivor need to be in front of me to blind me?
I honestly would prefer triple the wait time but get matched at my level, that this.
Is not beginner friendly at all.
If there are not enough players yet, let the matchmaking keep searching. Dont force a match that is going to be absolutely awful.

You know that Prestige has nothing to do with that? All of those could be on P0-characters and you would still be facing the exactly same people.
Sounds like you got backfilled into a Lobby. When a player leaves a Lobby which would have been alright according to MMR, the game prioritizes time over fairness and so someone get backfilled into it who might not belong there. Seems like this happened to you because a more suitable opponent to those Survivors dodged the Lobby before.

If 2 players A and B spend 100h into the game. PlayerA spent 20h just to dump blood point and 80h to play. PlayerB spent 5h to put BP and 95h to play. PlayerB would play better.
Dump alot of BP into a character doesnt make the player good.

I didnt know that, thanks. At least that explains something, even if i still think is a terrible way of doing stuff
Nice try, but exceptions dont make the rule.
As a general rule, someone who has characters at very high (80+) prestiges have dramatically more hours in that someone with no prestige whatsoever or prestige 1. That prestige 0 may very well have 10 hours into the game. I dont know how many hours the guy with the 80+ prestige have, but i can definitely guarantee they have many, many, many more.
So no, dont play devils advocate, it rarely works.

I dont see its reasonable for a killer who has 10.000h in game to try a new killer and MMR put newbie survivors in lobby. Dont you think so?

Thats my entire point. It doesnt make any sense.
Then why are teams of 10.000 hours survivors getting mmr with newbie killers in lobby?
Edit: Just to clarify, im the guy with 10 hours in the game, split between survivors and killers. I shouldnt get paired with prestige 80+ survivors, specially 3 of them+ a 70 something)

MMR system is broken in Bug by Daylight. Tried to fix it from a decade now, without success…
You have a 'crossplay off' button in the settings (you can switch it only out of lobby yet) and that makes the matchmaking more sensitive to your own rank but the waiting time usually exceeds the 10-15 minutes… Honestly, I never found a game in this way but you can try it if you still have the time…
Or, as is it good for all the new players, you can invite some nice players to train you in a KYF mode without game's pressure until you reach a decent level of gaming…0 -
Interesting. But i feel i would have more sucess trying something like that in Steam, compared to Epic games.
If i own dead by daylight in epic games can i transfer it to steam without having to buy it again?

"Then why are teams of 10.000 hours survivors getting mmr with newbie killers in lobby?"
Because you got backfilled. There was a Killer in the Lobby before who would have had roughly the same Strength Level as the Survivors, but they left the Lobby (probably because they thought that they might lose and wanted an easier game) and you got backfilled into it.
This is one of the Flaws of the Matchmaking.
In general, the MMR in this game is flawed from the ground. It is solely based on Kills and escapes, so if you kill a lot of people as Killer, you gain MMR, if you escape a lot as Survivor, you gain MMR.
However, you can be the best Survivor on your team, do the most, be the most helpful and then be the only one dying and you are the only one losing MMR.
Same with Killer - you can play a game, get 9 Hooks in total, 1 Kill in the end and yet for the MMR you played worse than the guy who got 2 Hooks and 2 Kills, because they camped everyone they found and made it impossible to unhook them.

Yeah, I definitely think you got back filled. If the match making is either instant or taking a long time, you should know that it's not going to be accurate at all.
I once got blinded through a rock on Dead Dawg. It was the final straw that made me decide to run Lightborn 100% of the time. I'm a big advocate for unlocking Billy's perks as a beginner because Lightborn is so helpful when you're still learning the game. Long time players underestimate just how frustrating it is to lose all your potential hooks to flashlight saves (and to get blinded at every pallet too).

A lot bad survivors smurf so that they can bully new killers. Just tunnel them out

You’re absolutely right, chances are very good that high prestige = high hours. ESPECIALLY in this game, considering you have to prestige a bunch of different survivors to get really good builds. So if they have a high prestige survivor that means they already prestige’s a bunch of others and now just want to P100 their favorite.

Was banned 1 month from steam's forum to suggest this 'option' ("Please avoid admitting and/or encouraging DCing or any other unsportsmanlike conduct.")

Sounds very much like a backfill lobby as people mentioned. Oddly enough when they were doing MMR tests there was one where it was tighter with longer queue times and people actively hated it. People don't seem to like it now either but I don't think there is any version of MMR that would please everyone.
I personally don't mind it but I've also got a lot of hours.
The backfill system can certainly be rough for newer players though. :/
