So is new Chucky better or worse?
Did anyone tested him? Thoughts?

he’s stronger In the hands of a good killer and weaker in the hands of a bad killer imo.

If you were good at Chucky, Chucky is stronger. If all you did with him was holding his power until you can scamper, he is way weaker.
Overall it is obviously better if players who use the character in a way which requires more skill and practice are rewarded.
12 -
Not sure what everyone else is talking about, but he's definitely weaker. He was literally nerfed.
8 -
Found the guy who only uses Chuckys power to scamper under Pallets.
20 -
He’s a lot stronger in my opinion. Chucky is one of my mains, I tend to use Slice and Dice to get hits around loops really quick rather then wait for the free hit with scamper.
The new 18 second to 12 second change is extremely good for Chucky players who uses Slice and Dice a lot more often. Though weaker for the ones who wait to scamper, which is better and will require more skill finally.
Overall, great changes! 👍🏻

Probably in the same place. Pallets now are actually counter to him, but he has power way more often. I think he needs some tweaks (turning ability after scamper in dash and 130 degree flick) and he will be in a good spot.

False assumptions about a player doesn't make a nerf not a nerf.
16 -
this is the same person that defended old eruption, what do you expect lmao
15 -
Ah, just in time for the usual divisive rhetoric from the usual suspects.
gets popcorn

I feel he is clunkier now, but I preferred to play other killers than Chucky before the nerf. I've seen that many use this flick tech does anyone has suggestions on how to use it? Like dpi level, timing or whatelse

Chucky is a high skill ceiling killer that is heavily overlooked thanks to being able to just scamper under pallets from neutral, basically guaranteeing a hit every few seconds. Old Legion could do something similar.
Now for those who wouldnt rely on that, theyre gonna benefit from it HEAVILY as they cut his cooldown from 1/3. That means more lethality and stealth across the board.
8 -
His mobility is also better if you're using it as a traversal tool on bigger maps/it will be back faster after using it for mobility.
2 -
He is better at good hands not joking, people who knows to use his dashes are scary, and he has it basically every time now
0 -
good chuckies are stronger now thanks to the 6 second cooldown reduction, but bad chuckies will finally have to learn the game instead of playing mini legion
8 -
He's weaker. The reason people do the scamper thing now, is because they took away his flick. His attack is braindead easy to dodge currently, and can't really be used at loops because he can't flick anymore.
If they bring back his flick, he'll be in a great spot, a high skill cap killer that takes some practice. Either that or they just increase his movement speed to 115.
As it stands, if nothing else changes, his best playstyle will probably to just go full stealth and use his power to get stealthy hits, and the dash will be used for movement and catching up, not to actually hit anyone with.

If you played Chuckles with any form of skill this update is a flat buff.

Personally for me it depends on if scampering through window vaults will be left in or not. On ptb you can still scamper through windows which is a big deal because it allows you to vault 0.4 seconds faster and silently.
If he goes live like this he is 100% better. The trade off losing pallet scamper for the buffs is 100% worth it in this state.
If scampering through vaults gets removed i think he might be just as strong or slightly worse.1 -
RIP scamper brain. A very fatal disease found in many newbie good guy players.
⚰💐
2 -
I think it a flat out nerf but i can't say it not deserve. Scamper was just free

I got the soda. Lets enjoy this.

Better keep an eye on your dm's.
Some people really hate snacks T_T
1 -
he's stronger vs low-mid-high survivor but weaker vs 0.01% survivor loopers. you can down people much quicker on average with new chucky from my 5 games of testing on chucky on PTB but If you face a very very good looper as chucky, you risk having longer chases because your scamper is useless compare to before.

Slice & Dice is much better as a map traversal tool, and his stealth feels great now that you get it back so much faster, but I'll miss Scamper for convenience on things like the Game. Is it a nerf? Yeah. Is he still A tier? Yeah. Is he healthier for the game? Definitely. This is a W in my book.
1 -
It's a buff if you're good at Chucky. It's a nerf for the bad or average player who relied on Scamper for free hits.
2 -
Or they'll just go to other killers with Free mechanics aka legion and more like Chuckys just gonna be rarer now and the other killers with Frees pickrate will grow
1 -
He is stronger in thr sense he can use S&D more often however scamper became useless ans getting hit by new scamper requires you to be absolutely unaware of what game you are playing, or have a serious visual and hearing impediment. Did he deserve the nerf? Yes absolutelly, old scamper was BS. Id say chucky is stronger vs bad players because they will get hit by S&D but good players just became inmune to S&D, but before even if the chucky was bad he could outplay a good player by using scamper.
In my opinion the only thing bhvr needs to do is keep this change but return chucky flicks, tha way scamper is actually a danger when a chucky player is good but it is fair, contrary to what PTB has which is a scamper not even a bot should get hit with.
1 -
I dont think anyone minds bad players playing legion of all killers… There isn't a single killer that has less skill expresion than legion lmao
1 -
While I love this buff, I was hoping rat poison was reworked, kinda annoyed there is an addon that just removes all skill from slice and dice.
1 -
Because you can't all be working on Eruption'd gens, which the killer had to waste time kicking, constantly give downs to the killer, and then say it's the perk's fault you lost. And because killer perk reworks are always nerfs, we didn't get more regression for less Incapacitated duration, no we got aura. 🤦 🤡 🌎
2 -
And all the devs had to do was fix that tech, and his Slice & Dice would have been fine. But they instead nerfed Scamper twice.
1 -
A hit every few seconds? That doesn't sound right.
It doesn't matter how often he gets his ability if I can't land it because I'm on console. Like most high speed abilities, survivors can just twitch at the last second, and it won't turn fast enough to hit them. So killer sensitivity needs to be upped, or more logically survivor turning needs to be slowed (which those canceled new animations a while back would have fixed), or we can keep kicking this can down the road, and keep nerfing killers because of PC-exclusive techs/flicks. It happened to Deathslinger, it happened to Blight, and it's happening again now.
1 -
How do you suppose he gets downs?
0 -
I thought they removed those flicks because they could not be done on a controller?
0 -
Flicking with him isnt necessary to play him, and even on controller you can still do just fine since he can correct himself just as well as M&K while running and his hitbox is very generous. Also just because a killer is harder to play on console doesnt mean they shouldnt be looked at.
In all 3 cases mentioned here they were simply removing frustrating parts of a killers power while still keeping them viable. Slinger was and still is a very solid killer, Blight is most likely still in the top 5, and now Chucky will be more fun to play as and against while also still being a top pick.
0 -
We're just never gonna admit that a killer nerf was unnecessary, are we? Whether it's Blight, Freddy, Pig, or Trapper, there's always gonna be some excuse why it was needed. Even I at least budge on certain things, like pre-nerf Rat and Crow combined was probably too strong. Not one person has budged on Freddy and Slinger supposedly being S tier at their peak. They said it and believed it, and that's enough for them.
2 -
"They said it and believed it" yeah..and they was right. Slinger gave u nearly no chance to react and that was the main problem. "We're just never gonna admit that a killer nerf was unnecessary, are we?" Most people was in agreement that billy nerf was overboard . Now look! he been buff substantially.
4 -
Stronger and also way more fun. Being able to use your power more is always gonna be more fun.
1 -
The people who are calling this a nerf are making me chuckle you're definitely showing your skill level whether you're intending to or not
7 -
the fact that you thought that perk was fine proves my point💀
2 -
More antiloop, more stealth, more mobility… How could it possibly be a nerf?

But it was because it was unfun as hell to go against, and I highly doubt it was thrilling to do it as well
This change makes him feel less clunky, less frustrating to verse, and more fun to play. Just because you can't do something, doesnt mean others cant
4 -
"and I highly doubt it was thrilling to do it as well"
Can confirm this. It does not really feel rewarding if you just follow the Survivor until they have to drop the Pallet and you scamper under it.
With the Cooldown-Reduction you can use the power way more often. And this in general feels better.

I haven't tested him yet, might tonight. From everything I've heard though, it's pretty much what most people are saying - he's stronger with people who are great with him and weaker with people who aren't so great with him (much like myself).

I don't know what's funnier the fact that he thinks the perk was fine or that he thinks everyone is a clown who thought the perk needed a nerf,
1 -
After further analysis, I think he is still pretty boring to play as/against.
1 -
He’s stronger if you’re good at him.
If you primarily only used his power for pallet scamper, you’re gonna struggle with him for a while.

Turns out this was a bug.
1 -
He fine. I'm surprised they did not nerf Power Drill.
0 -
Yeah, true. His power cooldown does seem very low still.
I'm just kinda sad because scamper through vaults was useful at shack. I might start using bamboozle on him.0 -
He's terrible.
