Get rid of disconnection penalty

The disconnection penalty punishes the players that continue in the match more than it does the players that disconnect, as we get stuck with one less player that "slow DCs" by taking their chances on hook and then not doing any skill checks before anyone can get there. But in all honesty, I'd rather have a BOT than someone that was pulled off hook while they were trying to "slow DC", as they usually end up being toxic to the player the pulled them off hook, or just don't even try.

Getting rid of the disconnection penalty will allow players to gracefully leave a match that they don't want to participate in and give us bots that will at least "try", and are only getting better with each update.

Please, please, consider those of us left behind….

No, players who act selfishly by not wanting to participate should not be tolerated. All multiplayer games, from sports to recreation, should be created by people who consider their opponents.

I think there's an argument for making the DC penalty less severe now that bots are in the game. You can AFK / exit the game on the first hook for 10 games in a row yet face no penalty, or you can DC just once a day for 3 days in a row and still be punished with a fairly hefty 15 minute ban. Who honestly thinks this is reasonable?

It's even sillier to have the DC penalty in place for modifiers like Chaos Shuffle, since it's a completely consequence free game mode. It's meant to be played for fun. It doesn't increase or decrease your MMR score and nothing is at stake, so why should it matter if a player is having a bad time and wants to leave the game?

And if players don't want to continue with a bot, perhaps there could be a system in place to vote to end the game early with no consequences for the rest of the players.

People DCing instantly because they don't like their build is the antithesis of chaos shuffle and that's exactly what having no DC penalty would make that the norm

Yeah, don't know how many veteran dbd players are here, but remember when you saw iri hatchet huntress and ppl dc-d immediatly?
No? Then you shouldn't remove the feature because it keeps matches effectively in check. And those who constantly rage get a lil headpat and a time out so they don't work themselves up too much.
TLDR: you want even more chaos in an already chaotic game which would efficiently kill the game itself… I mean not kill it exactly but would reduce effective playtime by a ton.

    No.

Quite frankly i think disconnect penalties should be harsher. And giving up on hook should start counting as a DC if the player does it too much in a short spam of matches.

How about remove 4% and force them to go into the timeout corner. Even then bots are NOT a replacement for real players.

What makes everyone think the player that wants to DC won't just kill themselves on hook anyway just to be an ass?

I don't think that's the only reason why players DC in this mode. Yes, a high chance of getting a terrible build is definitely a reason, but so is bad matchmaking and all the usual miserable frustrations like proxy camping, slugging, tunnelling and the inability to co-ordinate as a team to combat it (or as Killer, endless flashy blinds and gens that pop too quickly). I find many of my trials are over in just a couple of minutes or just not fun enough to be worth persevering with.

I'm happy for all the players that are getting even match ups and fun opponents in this mode, but that's not been my overall experience. All I seem to be going up against are opponents that are trying their absolute hardest or just way above my skill level. DBD has iffy matchmaking at the best of times and splitting the queues has made it much, much worse (at least for me). Maybe this mode just isn't for me, but I'm having a bad time more often than a fun one and it hardly feels worth queuing up for anymore.

More broadly, I just don't see the point of putting bots in the game if you rarely get to play with them because of the DC penalty. We know unhappy players that have already reached a high DC penalty will AFK or sacrifice themselves at the first opportunity they get. They may not be great, but at least the bots will always contribute. And once again, Chaos Shuffle is not ranked! It does not matter who wins or loses. All that matters is that everyone is having fun. And if a player isn't having fun, they should be able to leave. There's no good reason to keep players in a trial if they don't want to be there.

For those that say that BOTS are not a real replacement for actual players. I am in 100% agreement with you. But which is better, someone who ends themselves on first hook (or worse yet is unhooked when they are trying to do that, and then become toxic for the rest of the match) and are of ZERO use to you the rest of the match, or a BOT that is currently at least somewhat useful (and getting better with each iteration of BOT updates) if for no other reason than to take some of the killer's attention? I would always rather have a BOT (that is much better now than they were) than an empty slot where someone decided to just end themselves

No thanks, don't need survivors DCing more.

Actually, they should be harsher on DC's. Start leading to account bans.
