Are uncounterable flashbangs going to continue to be ignored?
There's really not much point to playing killer when teams get free saves with literally no way to counter except permanently using up a perk slot for Lightborn, which is #########. Just played a match where I downed someone, picked them up, heard the flashbang drop, looked straight up into the sky, and still got stunned. ######### am I supposed to do?

Background player is getting nerfed in the next update which is usually part of the problem.

######### am I supposed to do?
Look around before you pick! Someone following you around and waiting for the chance of a flashlight save means during your whole chase you had another survivor doing nothing which means you applied a lot of pressure. If Background player is the problem, it will be nerfed soon. You can also just constantly slug the survivors if you feel they are playing just to bully you instead of to win.

flashbangs take 2 seconds to go off which means the survivor with the flashbang has to be within 4 meters of you or 8 meters with background player (6 after its nerfed) or you'll be able to turn away in time, be more perceptive of your surroundings before picking up.

COUNTERS
1- Look around before you pick up, takes 3 seconds and anyone not within 10 meters regardless of perks will not get save
2- Fake pick ups, a extremely fast and powerful way to make survivors slip up
3- Listen to footsteps/breathing- Audible cues can easily tell you if there are more than 1 survivor nearby
4- Be aware of surroundings in chase- Many times, you will see other scratch marks that aren’t from original survivor, be wary that they are following you for a reason.
5- Perks- Many perks will make other survivors scream or reveal aura if you do a simple objective, very steady way to mole out any rats and doesnt make you waste a perk slot as it has other used
6-dont recommend) Lightborn
BENEFITS OF THIS1- Less pressure- A additional survivor following you means at least half of the survivors are not doing productive activities (healing, cleansing, repairing)
2- Double downs- Successfully feinting a pick up to get a double down is extremely rewarding and basically gives huge pressure
3- Possible survivor mistakes- If thr chased survivor is trying to conceal or stay out of way of said survivor following them, their movements may be out of touched aswell as sometimes be blocked by hidden survivor, making downs easier

Can survivors still phase through the killer during pick-up? If so, there's nothing you can do, and there won't be anything until BHVR changes that.

How do you even get a Flashbang save? I miss every time I try. Can you do it when they're carrying survivors or just when they pick up? I'm my own counter to fb saves at this point lol

You can do both but the pick up one has to be timed correctly as to where the other way doesn't but it's extremely easy to avoid unless you do it in situations where they round a corner to hook someone and it just explodes in their face, anyone who sees and hears a flashbang drop while carrying a survivor will almost always avoid it unless they just dont know better from inexperience , but OP is referring to BP and flashbang being bugged to allow clipping inside the body I believe

They're pretty easy to counter, just look for anyone who may be nearby, or if someone just pops up (usually Background Player which is getting nerfed), look up. Sometimes if they time it right, you can't look up in time, which is what the first option is for.
This is especially easy on Doctor. Just use the big shock to see if anyone is around, get them away, and pick up.

It's still happening to me at walls.
The others here trying to give advice are in the right place, but are forgetting because of BGP+FB combo they can just phase right through and get the blind regardless.

That for sure needs to be fixed. I still see it.

Thanks! I've yet to have an opportunity to reach the killer when they're just picking up (I don't use BP) but I've never been able to pull it off while they're carrying so was thinking it wasn't possible

Chill out figure a way around it. It's possible if you try.

Y’all will do anything BUT get good.
Like everyone is saying thank god there’s good players in this thread. Fake your pick ups, Look around before picking up, listen for other survivors running or breathing. It’s not the end of the world if you get flash banged or flashlight saved literally just chase again and be wary of you’re surroundings
It’s amazing what basic situational awareness can do.

I stopped playing Killer permanently. The match making is soooooooooooo incredibly unbalanced right now. Possibly the worst I've seen in 7 years...

I appreciate the suggestions, but there has to be a better way to counter than the fake pickup and looking around. Survivors who bring Background Player can easily swoop in from far away to counter those tactics. The main problem is that looking straight up, which counters flashlight blinds, should also counter flashbangs and it doesn't. That would resolve the issue of Background Player users flying in from halfway across the map when you start your pickup.

lucky for you Background player is getting nerfed so you don’t have to worry about that in the future. As for looking up to avoid Flashbangs it should work, a funny thing with it that I’ve noticed is you have to look straight up to the FOV limit to avoid it. Looking up half way or even partially not at the limit could still blind you but i personally haven’t tested it myself only personal experience from not looking up completely to looking up completely.

Consistent flashbang saves really only happen when there's a large skill discrepancy between the survivors and the killer. They are pretty dang avoidable and honestly often result in extra injuries or slugs.

May sound rude but it seems like a legit skill issue, survivors have to be close in order to even flash you and it takes precision on their part on when and where to use one. You have to me more perceptive of your surroundings if this bothers you so much. But honestly with half of the killers having OP abilities, why dont you use one of them?
