Double Flashlight Stun are seriously a thing?!

Been playing as Doc, just had a match with 2 flashlights stunning me back to back, and I mean before my vision even cleared? Why is there no grace period on that nonsense?!

Around the forum lurks members of the Cult of Lightborn, who with great passion and glee expound on the virtues of running that particular perk. That or Franklin's may help you quite a bit here, and putting your face into a wall can work well for flashys.

As for the back to back blinding, yeah kinda surprised that is still a thing. Happening at pallets, pretty much just annoying. But with coordination for pick-up saves for instance that's a problem.

Yeah those locked in animation blinds are rough. Definitely look up or down if you can.

I'd gladly have flashlight addons have a small blind timer increase in exchange for chain-blinds to be removed.

Not particularly because of it being useful or anything, but being double blinded can get visually annoying.

So you would buff Flashlight Add Ons, because some players are not able to look up or down when getting blinded?

And I thought people want to balance for the Top…

I assume, that you were stunned with a pallet while carrying a survivor on your shoulder. But in that case, you're only stunned once because multiple stuns cannot stack (at least not without a bug). Meaning, you get the stun for a survivor wiggling off but not the pallet stun itself. This is important because this stun is not affected by perks and addons.

After the stun, you can immediately look up or down (I prefer looking down, because you see more that way and you can also follow blood and scratch marks) to avoid a second blind. If it is timed perfectly you will get blinded a second time regardless but this is hardly an issue. Blinds do not take that long, you can move, change your camera angle and you also have your ears to rely on during that time. Unless you are hearing impaired in which case it sucks but then again the entire game is not very forgiving towards this kind of disability.

This is a hot take but I don't think Chain blinding should be a thing maybe like a 1 second blind cooldown so its not possible

The fact you let yourself get blinded twice is crazy. You should have static blast the area to seek them out.

Start bringing in Franklins Demise or Lightborn. Nothing in this game pisses off Survivors who rely on their items more than these two perks.

I only see that happen to people who stand still after a blind to wait for it to go away or people who try to just mindlessly keep running straight after breaking a pallet, instead try looking down while listening after a pallet break and you'll hear the survivors most of the time and can keep up while also forcing the ones who try to get double blinds to lose distance they would've had just w keying to the next tile, I don't recommend looking up even though it has the same effect as looking down but the difference is you feel like you have a little more control while looking down as to where looking up kinda makes your camera go wonky and it can take a little longer to readjust to the chase than it would by looking down but maybe that last part is just me IDK

That's probably the more … realistic thing in this game
Try to blind yourself with a flashlight, you gonna see

You can be chained blind as long as the flashlight has charges and you don't look away.

Pretty much every animation lock is 3 seconds or less (kicking gens, pallets, etc.). Or even blade wiping, which you can actively look away while the animation is playing.

The first blind is due to animation lock, sure.

Any additional blinds are purely on the killer player not looking away as soon as they're blind the first time. You're never 'forced' to eat more than one blind unless you're playing with your feet.

Flashlight saves have enough time to get the double blind, I know that very well.

Also, you have to account for addons/strong flashlights that increase blind speeds. I know for a fact I've gotten double blinded after going for a *pallet break as well if the first blind starts at the first frame, orange glyphs making it a guarantee, with the second blind coming at the very end of the animation before I can control my movements. Unless that's something dubious, I'm going to assume it's a possibility since I run into it enough.

*Changed from stun to break, don't know what I was thinking there.

Also, I am curious, why are we defending double blinds anyway? They have no real practicality for survivors since killer can look away in most cases to avoid it, and it's not like it saves you much time against killers who know where to path when blinded. I'd much rather have the blind duration increase and put in a soft invuln timer between blinds, and possibly add a buff (an addon buff?) that removes scratch marks from showing up during the blind duration or something. That seems like a reasonable exchange to me.

Really the best you can do is save a build specifically for flashlights (or just having lightborn) when you see a SWF with flashlights, or just multiple survivors with one, or try your best to face a wall the entire time

The better question to ask is, why are we looking to nerf or change anything when the answer is to look up or down?

Have we really hit bedrock of skill floor that this is too complicated for people to pull off?

My point is being misread here, it's not about the counterplay or anything like that. Double blinds have no real reason to exist, they don't hinder most killers tracking, and it's really just a visual annoyance more than anything. Wouldn't it be better for flashlights in general to receive a considerable buff in exchange for losing something that's minor like this?

Animation lock-in blinds are tough for sure. I feel similarly about getting hit through an animation lock-in as well. But without those opportunities of animation lock-ins I feel like the game would be so much more stale
