How do you guys feel about exhausting Killers? (Extremely difficult Killers)

Title. When I say exhausting Killers, I mean Killers that are usually very punishing to play and extremely strict with their power, whether it be placement or anything else. From what I've seen and played some of the easiest examples are Singularity and Unknown. Singularity requires constant thinking with his power, and yet despite having a lot of map control and pretty good anti-loop his power can be constantly denied with EMPs forcing you to replace your whole setup and trying to catch survivors all over again with the bio pods making him feel extremely exhausting to play. Unknown is extremely unforgiving with his power, often just one missed UVX can mean the difference between ending a chase earlier or extending it 20+ seconds making him feel very exhausted to play. There's also the fact that his teleport despite being the most powerful part of his kit can be very easily denied by proactive survivors making him sometimes feel like the only thing he has is an M2 that feels at times unreliable and some other times very powerful making him also feel inconsistent.

Despite all that though no one argues that these Killers are anything but strong. Most consider Singularity to be an A tier Killer and Unknown a B+ or A tier Killer. So, how do you guys feel about these types of Killers? Should they get QOL changes or minor reworks? Or are they fine as is? Personally for me, Unknown is sort of a mixed bag but Singularity definitely needs some minor changes.

I wish I were an AI IRL, that's all I can think when I play Larry. My biology limits me...but hey I'm sure some people are into that form of stimulation. I think it's OK to have a killer that can only be tolerated for 1 round a day

Unknowns a bit different imo as they are primarily a series of knowledge checks; Unknown requires a fair amount of bot practice to understand their uvx physics but once you know you know.

What gets the Unknown more than anything is the performance anxiety...You have to successfully hit not just once, but rather twice or sometimes even thrice but if you mess up even once you lose everything so that's why I feel people cope by saying teleport is Unknowns real power...I don't blame them either. Trying and failing with them is deflating but unlike Singularity they aren't sensory overload.

I can't speak for Singularity but I hope we get to keep this Unknown he's just so odd

Singularity is indeed the epitome of "exhausting killers to play". Other than Soma needed base kit, he really just needs QoL to make him more smooth to play and not as clunky.

To a lesser degree but I also find Unknown exhausting as you mentioned. It's essentially any killer that is overly punishing for mistakes. I think it's because his Weakened is too easy to remove so you essentially get one shot and if it misses the whole thing is reset and now you need to apply it again. Annoying. This could be smoothed out by making Weakened take a little longer to remove or by reducing the cooldown on his m2.

Yes these are skill issues, but at the end of the day people say all day on here how they want the game balanced around the average player, not good players, and the average player misses a lot.

I don't play Singularity for that reason. It's not very fun for me to play a killer that is so hard, that nothing I do will work unless I play perfectly, which honestly should not be expected because my opponents don't play perfect either. Most of us play games to have fun and relax. This is not relaxing and different to other difficult killers it can't be automated.

After a while, you'll stop thinking about how you play Nurse, Blight, Billy, Huntress etc. because you've done this a million times already. For Singularity that doesn't happen because it always depends on how the survivors play and needs to be adapted every time. This is also true for Unknown, I feel.

There is also a difference between a killer that is mechanically difficult and a killer a that is mentally difficult. Having to play a bit strategic is fine but when you need to go into the game like it's chess against a grand master, that's not very accessible for many people. Because building that type of skill takes a lot of time and effort as well as focus. You can't just sit back, relax and learn through trial and error because everything you do can work, just not in that exact situation.

Yeah that's why Singularity isn't a popular Killer you have to give 110% just to get mid results with him and Emps have no skill ceiling they are just a hard counter.

Unknown is just way to safe hallucinations are easily cleansed and Weakness is just a joke status effect

It makes me frustrated, regret buying the killer and makes me much more hesitant to buy a new killer. Hell, I probably won't buy Vecna.

This game either releases a good killer that gets nerfed into frustration, or the killer just comes in package as a misery to play.

I don't play xeno often because every gen always has a flamethrower on it, Hux's power is always countered by a emp. It's like what's even the point in trying when I know I am just not gonna have a good time at all trying to play as these guys.

Singularity is one of my favourite killers to play. I can really get into the flow of his power and keep up with his fast pace well.

I'm a big fan of the micromanaging-type killers. The ones that can spread pressure to the entire team if you have good macro play. It's part of why I loved pre-rework Freddy so much.

Singularity could really do with some QoL changes, though. Especially to do with the cameras locking on, it's too easy to have your LOS broken with a tiny twig or bush or whatever and that's really frustrating. The base Overclock duration needs increasing by +20% as well.

I enjoy Singularity, when I find the energy to play him.

As far as I am concerned, he has the highest skill floor out of any Killer.

If a killer isn't rewarding to play, I just don't play them. Doesn't matter how good they could be in theory, my time is more valuable trying to make the killer work.

It depends. I love playing Singularity, I find him very rewarding to do well with personally even though he is hard to play. When he was new I originally thought he wasn’t even that good until I realized how powerful he can be if you put enough time into him.

With Unknown I have to be more in the mood to play him since you have a lot less room for error and missing a single shot is often enough for survivors to get rid of their weakness and then you need 2 more hits, it’s a major setback if you miss. I won’t usually play him for more than 1-2 games at a time.

No killer is more exhausting than the Nurse. The frustration you have to deal with after missing a survivor who is right there at your face is not comparable with anything else in this entire game.

If they underperform then they should just get buffed.

Yes, just like the Nurse, who is the most underperforming killer in the game according to the stats.
