Basic Lore Question
So, I mostly just like Dead by Daylight for the lore instead of actual gameplay. I understand a lot of the lore, but there's just one thing I've never been able to grasp: what is the Dredge? I know he's supposed to just be a manifestation of negative emotions, but what is he really? (Like, as a species). I know the Unknown's whole thing is that its' origins are a mystery, but I feel like the Dredge's origins are even harder to understand than the Unknown. The Dredge seemed to be more like a Tulpa than a manifestation of negative emotion to me. Can someone help explain this? Trust me, if it's about the Dredge, you'll know more than me.

That's still a mystery. All we know is that it resided in a realm at one point that had so many discarded body parts. It was the same realm in the lore where Saku found Maurice trapped in before she managed to rescue him.

Personally don't know, but I have heard people say he's a sort of fragment made by the entity. I could see it cause he does have a pocket dimension which he pulls survivors in when he does his mori.
