Does anybody play DBD on Steamdeck?
If there is the possibility of cross-progression, I am considering getting a steam deck to play DBD in the future. I am a Nintendo Switch player who has gotten too used to handheld mode gaming and the flexibility of playing without staring at my TV.
just wondering what the experience is like for those who play on steamdeck? I fear for the long term support of the game on Switch and see the steamdeck as a natural alternative.

It's great! I bought one with the kingdom hearts games coming to steam. And with cross progression confirmed. It plays really well (the oled one at least) goes up to 90 fps which is higher than most other consoles for this game. It's portable and its not to difficult to play with.

Ah that is great to hear and reassuring! Thanks for letting me know - I’ll buy it as soon as cross-progression is active!

I have the original 64gb model that I put a larger drive in. Every time I've tried DBD on it, it runs really well. I do play on the lowest settings so I'm not sure how it would do if you turned them up.
When I had to spend time in the living room for a while, I didn't want to move around my main PC. So I hooked it up to the TV with the dock. It ran well on there as well. It didn't drop below 60 fps very often that I can remember except maybe on certain maps. I also turned fsr on in game, it just seemed to give it a sharper image.
Im not really a handheld or on the go gamer so I can't tell you how it is for that. But it makes a great backup PC or something you can freely move around rooms.
Edit: I just want to say I haven't tried it since the new unreal engine update but I can later if youd like.

thank you so much! I’m looking forward to playing it on the Steamdeck more and more! I’ve seen the odd clip of it on YouTube and it looks smooth and visually great!
Sure - only if it’s not too much trouble, would love to know if the unreal update is still smooth :)

I played a match of survivor on swamp and a game of pig on the game. It ran great. I had it on lowest settings but in game it never really dropped below 60 fps. The only time it drops seems to be when spending blood points. That being said I'm still not use to the steam deck controls but I'm the same with any handheld.

@Moonras2 I have finally got the steam deck! Looking forward to cross-progression this summer to transfer over!

Awesome, have you tried any games out on it yet?

I’ve tried DBD though trying not to play too much until cross-progression lol (works great! Shocked at the graphical improvement compared to my Nintendo switch - so those orange blobby things in notifications are actually generators!! 😱)
Have also downloaded a few classics such as RE 5&6 (super cheap at cdkeys) and also my beloved Dragon Quest 11!!
Still a noob at a lot of stuff but am already aware of the sheer level of customisation and options!

Also, hilariously got targeted and tunnelled out in every single match with my baby dweet with one yellow perk - upside: had plenty of time while on hook to observe the graphical detail lol

Its really great but in my experience with dbd on steam deck be prepared to always have a charger 😂
Omg I didn't read that this was from June 8th 💀💀
... so how do you like it?..

yeah I’ve been having a few games on there the last couple of days trying not to get too deep into it as cross progression isn’t available yet and there’s only so much I can take of my baby Dwight being tunnelled haha
The game itself runs perfectly! And yes you’re definitely first about the charger - I can tell it will drain quickly with asset-heavy games! And the last few days in London has been really hot and the steam deck was spouting some serious heat lol

How is it on Steamdeck?!

it’s really good! Graphics and also performance-wise it’s super smooth! Still need to get used to the (much bigger) size of the console but hopefully it won’t take too long by the time cross-progression comes around!

I didn't even think about mentioning the charge time to you as I usually use mine docked. There are things you can do to help it though such as limiting the game to 30 fps. I think there are a couple other settings you can change as well ive just never used them much.
