Have to run DS again every game
The proxy camping/tunneling is the worst I've seen it in a long time. Ever since the chaos shuffle and it seems like killers maybe used this since they could argue their perks weren't good enough to not tunnel/camp but now they are doing this with the most meta perks they can run. Running DS again every game to even que survivor I guess. Yippe!

This has been happening long before Chaos Shuffle.
And to be fair, a few people had asked for something to be done on a mechanical level instead of buffing DS, which now anyone who tunnels will just eat the DS and continue to tunnel because it's most likely still going to be the faster option. And you can't buff DS further because of those who attempt to weaponize it with off-the-hook bodyblocks with OTR and rushing to lockers hoping the killer activates it with a grab.

Well DS is insanely bugged right now, so I wouldn't recommend that. So bugged, in fact, that that might be part of the reason you're seeing more tunneling.

All Gen perks got nerfed and SABO got an insane buff across the board. Very limited incentive to hook survivors right now honestly.

The gen defense nerfs really aren't enough to make tunneling and camping a necessity. People just use these strategies because they are an easy way out for a win. The only thing that might be too much are the sabo changes.

You sound like you need to play more killer to get a feel for it. Gen control was annoying as a survivor so they asked for nerfs and they got them. But now killers have no motive to leave the hook. Why try to patrol gens when the tools to do so are so weak now? It does encourage more aggressive and toxic killer play and Sabo buff encourages more bully squad behavior from survivors. This last year really seems to be a coordinated effort to make killers and survivors hate each other.

DS is still bugged from the ptb and OtR is nullified by hitting someone off hook which happens with tunneling anyways. It’s amazing that the perks survivors are forced to run to combat tunneling aren’t even functional. Tunneling as killer is free wins all day rn but at least Survivors can play a song because haha funny ig

Running a perk that barely does anything in such situations. Not worth it.

you don't. but if you want to, go for it. never really liked it, don't think it's really worth the slot currently.

As ChaosWam mentioned tunneling is just to beneficial and faster and more reliable at applying pressure then any other tactic buffing perks isn't the solution but I'm sure the idea of selling more pay walled perks is appealing to behavior the game needs drastic mechanical changes to stop tunneling and to make a more healthy game…
Ideally having hooks act like cages where they go underground and pop up far away would be a instant problem solve to tunneling but would do little to nothing to why killers come to the conclusion on why they need to tunnel. That is much trickier. Perhaps each killer has a unique repair time or number of gens to be completed. Perhaps a stacking debuff for each first hook on the team is given or a buff to the killer with each first hook. Something needs to be given to the killer for taking away such a powerful ability such as tunneling but ultimately everyone would be much happier no matter what that is

Have you considered OTR and MFT? Sounds like free value to me 😏

Its is what's wrong with it?

Lets not forget Gen kicking does little to nothing to gens 5% (4 mins to fully regress)and they limited gen kicking for terrible reasons and our regression perks add to the gen kick limit. I'm ok with gen perks being nerfed as long as basekit kicking gets stronger in exchange
2 -
Its almost as if patrolling and going for chases with other survivors is far more detrimental thanks to excessive safe options pallets and vaults then camping and tunneling
1 -
I don't use DS...but I do run Self-Care :D
3 -
Meh I am a killer main. I do get the frustration with gen times sometimes, but I don't think it's that bad either. Tunneling and camping are indeed easy ways out to win a match. But of course, I am not completely against some basekit gen regression buffs.

Good news then, since they already buffed the base kick twice and added an anti gen tap feature. All free, no perks required.
But you knew that already, since you listed exactly these things...
Not everything requires a compensation buff.

if your only giving us a 5% kick only useable 8 times per gen and gutting our 20% gen regression perks uh yeah we do need it 5% is so not enough in exchange
2 -
Again, you got your kick buffs. That's what you were complaining about.
Wanting more is just entitlement. Killers are already dominating the game in every metric that actually matters. (And gens completed during your 4k is not a metric that actually matters)

Thank BHVR for nerfing all the gen regression/slowdown perks hard. Tunneling is now the most reliable way of slowing the survivors down.
5 -
Right since wanting things is entitlement then survivors clearly don't need anymore basekit BT antiface camp having and wanting anymore of that is peak entitlement
1 -
I never said 'wanting things is entitlement'.
You're asking for more on top of the three different buffs dry kicking has received. While pretending like those don't exist.

You forgot the action speed from kicking who got buffed
The sad part is, even if they got that (I imagine that 10 or 20% of regression per kick is enough for him, since 5% is not (like he said)) they not gonna stop hard tunneling each match, and proxy camping or even face camping for forcing the survivor to get out by himself
Nothing can be done for stopping that0 -
your giving us crumbs in exchange for our cake these "3 different buffs" are nothing burgers while they gut actual good regression while 5% is garbage value

Well they just nerfed ds and I think tunneling increased instantly after that happened 5s was fine only bit too much for m1 killers. 4s would be fine if it disables killer power for short around time so then ds would actually punish S-tier killers. They should definetely give ds 80s timer like otr too that 60s goes too fast and I have to let killer down me often.
0 -
If you run the DS timer out you didn't need it or you were doing nothing for 60s.
1 -
They nerfed DS and they nerfed the two top regression perks. Of course tunneling is getting worse.
And you can buff DS to the stars, it won't make tunneling stop. To some killers, it's better to risk the DS stun and go for the already weak survivor than start a new chase in a new chain of loops.
1 -
The killer don't care if you are weak or not, they tunnel the first survivor he see, even if it get 3 gen complete to kill him
2 -
I've already faced a killer who ran Knock Out and wasn't hooking anybody. This is what people asked for.
0 -
Yeah, because then later someone's just gonna use DS offensively. Those gen defence nerfs were completely uncalled for, and will cause more tunneling. I was ready to try Pop/Pain Res on certain killers I was good with, but now the regression is laughable. Seriously, compare what they do now to what they did at their peak.
0 -
Keep saying that about tunneling. Doing is always different than saying.
0 -
So you don't think a wasted killer chase is strong?
0 -
Not as strong as a wasted survivor life the killer gets for tunneling even through all or the OTRs and DSs.
0 -
Its the easier way to win as killer since forever

The gen defense nerfs really aren't enough to make tunneling and camping a necessity.
Depends on what killer, what map, what survivors, perks and items.
Also it depends on your definition of tunneling.
Do you need to tunnel from first hook in every game? Hell no.
Are games where you need to do it to win? Yes, but it's rare.
But you definitely need to get someone out of the game at some point. Holding 1 gen against 4 survivors is simply unrealistic for most killers.
Last changes (3-gen + nerfs) didn't make tunneling a requirement to win, but I would say it definitely made games more stressful for many players, which can get them to tunnel someone out faster than used to.
