Your Top 3 Killer/Survivor weak perks to be updated next?

Next PTB, what 3 perks you got for either side to get buffed?

Survivor:

  • Better Than New (Outclassed in every way)
  • Poised (Trigger condition for the effect is basically useless)
  • Blood Pact (Cheryl in General tbh, but this perk is just a more restricted version of Power of Two... which is also bad)

Killer:

  • Source Hook: Hangman's Trick (Nowhere near enough value)
  • Leverage (Game is over by the time it does anything)
  • Shattered Hope (for the love of God Shattered Hope...)

What are you putting as your front runners?

There's so many easy perks to update.

Dark sense not activating on hook, perhaps with a triggerable token system

    Spine chill vault speed back.

Better than new +15s to next hook state

Stuff like that. It's all so so easy.

Wondering how much of a problem Shattered Hope would be if it just allowed you to break dull/hex totems as well tbh.

The obvious synergy is Pentimento, but the killer has to go out and find the totems, no different to the survivors having to find them, and you as killer of course don't have any perks to help you find the dull totems... other than taking a bunch of hexes and break them yourself to get Pentimento.

Only build that might be an issue is Pentimento/Plaything/Two Can Play… and rushing for Pentimento lock.... which might work if survivors don't realise what you're doing.

    Fun to think about though.

That would be kind of busted on high mobility killers and when the survivors don't realise it... But I think the base mechanic should be limited to boons for obvious reasons.

I'll list some perks that haven't already been mentioned

    Survivor:

    • Slippery Meat - it's outright detrimental unless stacked with other luck unlockables in a 4 man SWF
    • Calm Spirit - got massively nerfed in that massive perk overhaul in 6.1.0; this one in particular makes me sad due to its potential to be a perk that allows interacting with crows in some way
    • Up the Ante - same issue as Slippery Meat, just remove/rebuild the luck mechanic entirely

    Killer:

    • Beast of Prey - self-explanatory
    • Insidious - only remotely viable for camping in a structure
    • Genetic Limits - the effect is significant when it procs at the right moment but it's really awkward to play around and achieve

I think the 3 worst perks for survivor are (and I'm excluding No Mither):

    • Poised (far too situational)
    • Premonition (info isn't very useful against most killers and only gives the killer's general direction)
    • Technician (perk for new players that hurts new players by giving a larger penalty, if anything it should reduce the penalty instead and probably needs something else too to make it better)

    And for killer they are:

    • Beast of Prey (bloodlust as a trigger condition is just bad unless the effect is extremely strong, which this isn't)
    • Predator (this perk is worse than bringing nothing because scratchmarks being closer together is actually bad for the killer since it makes them harder to see from far away, it needs a completely different effect)
    • Shattered Hope (should be basekit without aura reveal)
    • I'm also including a 4th perk: Septic Touch. Because yeah, this perk is just absolutely terrible. Having to be in the terror radius in order for it to work makes it way too situational. I think it should just be map-wide and be like Mindbreaker but for healing (and add in the same effect from Mindbreaker that it pauses existing exhaustion + blindness, then it would actually be a usable perk).

update the perks that were announced to be updated first.

    Genetic limits

    This is not happening

    Distressing.

    ===

Gameafoot is a perk that i personally wanted buffed.

Quick Gambit is another perk that i wish was better(I like getting chased while giving team bonuses).

    This is Not Happenning

    • Should disable the killers M2 for 5 seconds after getting out of the killers grasp.

    Slippery Meat

    • Should extend the range of the anti-face-camp area by... i dunno, 6-8 meters or so?

for survivor I want to see no mither super buffed empathy and I’m unsure about the third perk

For killer definitely has to be the new vecna perk that allows you to vault 25% faster brutal strength and maybe blood hound

Being able to do it on hex totems would be busted yeah...

Though being able to do it to dulls probably wouldn't be though... it's probably harder for a killer to find dull totems than survivors, and there is obviously way more pressure to manage time on killer than survivor...

So unless someone hard learns all of the spawn locations of totems and runs about setting them, being able to break dulls and boon totems for Pentimento.

Let's face it, if a killer can do that, they're probably in a tier of play where they're up against survivors who can do the same.

If it creates a problem, Shattered Hope could make a unique global sound to warn a Totem was broken... that'd probably work.

... though I'm more riffing really than making a serious suggestion

I don't really think there is a need to make it work on dull totems though? All it does is create issues or help you get to pentimento easier.

Indeed. Shattered Hope should've been basekit…giving Killers the option to cleanse or snuff boons (not all totems).

As it stands, it's one of the best examples of a bandaid perk in the game. (It was snuck into a PTB too, without much fanfare.)

It came out when BHVR was in full stereotypical BHVR mode.

At the time, an obvious issue was that Killers had no effective/efficient way to combat COH, so the obvious fix/change would've been to grant Killers the basekit option to snuff or cleanse boons…which would have necessitated more decision-making during the trial…which would have created more-compelling gameplay. Killers would be forced to decide, on the spot, during the trial, to ignore, snuff (to possibly enable a later NOED, Plaything, etc), or cleanse (to remove the boon entirely for the remainder of the trial/possibly enable Penti, etc). Naturally, BHVR of the time botched things completely and pushed out Shattered Hope…and later dramatically nerfed COH…and, eventually, abandoned Boons completely.

In terms of potential PTB perk updates, every perk with a cooldown should be reviewed, and the cooldowns could likely be removed or dramatically reduced.

(Windows and Surge/Jolt used to have cooldowns. Once the cooldowns were removed, the perks (and, probably, usage rates) were transformed.)
