Why does the Clown hinder you?
I don't understand why he hinders you when he's not even slow. Like his power predominently slows you down compared to any killer by far. And it's such a big radius and last quite long. He basically blocks every vault and opening. I don't know anyone that can afectively loop and outrun the clown. He seems pretty op for no reason. Anyone know how to actually counter him?

Thats the point of his power. Clown is a chasing machine. Not only can he slow the survivor down, he can also speed himself up.
How does a survivor team counter him:
- pre drop safe pallets. You can always fast vault against a clown
- do gens, he has no map mobility whatsoever and needs two hits to down someone. His time efficiency sucks.
Clown is a one trick pony and if you understand how to beat him in that regard, he falls on his big butt. B- to C tier killer with a lot of skill expression but little reward for reaching the skill ceiling.

Sure, he's a chase monster, but that's effectively all he has and even then he's still worse in chase than Blight Spirit Nurse (plus some others, like Pyramid Head or Huntress). He's got no way to bypass or ignore pallets, meaning he has to break them, and his only real counter to a window is forcing a medium vault because of the hindered. Not to mention Vigil, which works on Hindered so works against Clown. Split up, crush gens, pre-drop pallets, don't greed a loop, use windows and if all else fails just W key.

Hindered make you recover Exhaustion? I thought as long as you press Sprint button, you dont recover.
I think its all about his power debuff survivors, makes survivors feel they're weaker than they should be. But not thinking that Blight is far faster than survivors' default speed, than Clown against Hindered survivors.

Are you complaining about the Clown? Really?

No? I never said it did.
Vigil works on the Hindered status effect, so yoh recover from Hindered quicker than without it, so you recover from gas bottles quicker, so you deal with his power slightly better. That's all.

Clown main here 🤡:
Clown is a chase killer just like a few of them are. He lacks map control, mobility and pressure. To loop a clown, you need to pre-run, Meaning that as soon as you hear his terror radius book it and find a strong jungle gym. Don't be afraid to pre-drop pallet cuz we hate those. If a Clown throws a yellow bottle (Which gives you 10% haste as well as The Clown) and miss-place it, try to inhale it to get more distance. If you see him reload his bottles (Takes 3 seconds for him to do so) make distance!
Other that, Clown is not OP as he is somewhere in the low tier side of things, in my opinion. As long as everyone is doing seperate gens and not goofing off, it shouldn't be any trouble to escape him. Keep in mind that some Clown mains out there will tunnel to get pressure going in the early game so make sure you equpit some anti-tunneling perks.
Other notes:-HIs Purple (or pink) Gas last a total of 10 seconds on the ground and gives you a whooping 15% hinder that last for 2.5 seconds.
-While intoxicated, you WILL always medium vault.
If you have any futher question, plz let me know! <3

i have a further question. Do you still want the Devs to give him shirtless cosmetic?

Correct me if I am wrong but I think your talking about the old days when survivors would recover from Exhaustion while running. The hinder effect will go away if your running or not.
0 -
Instead of running 3 time around a wall, you just run 2 times then drop the pallet
GG you beat clown
3 -
No I joined after Exhaustion recover when running.
Everytime I hear of Vigil, I think about Exhaustion recovering. So I thought Hindered recover Exhaustion because it makes your speed slower than running. Since they mentioned about Vigil counter Clown. I didnt think about Vigil makes recover from Hindered faster.

Basically the counterplay against him:
- Waste all the pallets on the map (in newer maps 90% of the pallets are trash and can only be used to stun the killer, so predropping them doesn't even make sense)
- Play in SWF and push gens coordinatedly
Seems like a pretty balanced killer for soloQ!

Ah gotcha!
Even if Virgil recover form the hinder effect, you have to keep in mind that Clown has 6 bottles, (maybe less, depend on how many he throws.)

Could this then not be said about almost any killer in DBD?

Keep it up friend. Your doing gods work.

Most likely a newer player, and hes simply asking for advice.
No need to be like that

Listen that's every single killer right now because solo is a wasteland and compdropping is tragically effective, Clown isn't really a problem child nor worth complaining about becuase he's honestly not that strong in comparison. Everything Clown does another killer can do, but better.

There would be no point to the hindered effect, if he was a 110% killer. That's kind of his thing. He slows you and speeds himself up and if it works, he gets a hit. That is all he has. Clown falls short in every other regard. He has no map pressure, built-in slowdown or information in his kit, so of course his chase has got to be very strong.

I main the Clown and honestly he’s not that good. He has terrible mobility and no map pressure at all. Run Windows like every other survivor does and you’re fine.

I am always down to help players when it comes to Clown related things! <3.

Vigil reduces recovery time for Blindness, Broken, Exhausted, Exposed, Haemorrhage, Hindered, Mangled, and Oblivious

He is supposed to down you quickly and counter looping but you can still predrop pallets to buy time. Clown is very good in 1vs1 but sucks in 4vs1 so if all other survivor just do different gens you can beat him.

I hear a lot of you say he has terrible mobility and no map pressure at all.
can you explain what this means. i dont have him unlocked so i never use him.

Clown can navigate the map faster by throwing his yellow bottles, but it takes precious seconds to reload and wait for the gas to work. He doesn't have speed to cross the map as fast as killers like Billy, Nurse, Wesker, and Spirit. These killers have what is considered mobility and because of this they can easily pressure gens by staying in constant chase and pushing survivors off gens. On larger maps with big gen spreads he struggles just like most m1 killers.
