What is a 1 vs 1 in this game...?

I've seen about 4 or 5 YouTube videos now with a Killer and Survivor talking trash in the endgame chat and one will offer the other a "1 v 1" to see who is better...

Better at what? A race to find the Hatch?!

I haven't seen anyone accept and I cannot imagine the point of going into a Custom Match with 1 Survivor and the Hatch open.

What am I missing?

What happens (assuming anybody agrees to these) in a 1 v 1?

    It's a 1v1.

Usually starts at Shack and both sides are usually allowed a single perk.

It's such a a weird thing to me when people say this to me after I 4k and they get salty. I literally just did 1v4 and won why would I bother to do a 1v1 lol.

It always came across as coming from inexperienced survivors who think chase is the only thing that matters and have no concept of macro play.

You play a round on suv and a round on killer on the same map timed to see who lasts longer against the other.

Its cringe to ask random players to 1v1 but thats what a 1v1 is

It's an ego thing and/or a comp match as far as I'm aware.

It's an ego inflated teenager thing that have too much time on their hands

As said, you go to a map, you alternate between one round of killer and one of survivor and the survivor that stays alive the longest wins

People asking for 1v1 after a pub match are usually poor human beings

    • you're right, but the problem with this game is that you can be 100 times better than killer, but if your teammates aren't good, you'll still die (apart from hatch, but that's just luck). that's why 1Vs1 exists

I know some 1v1 monkes - but usually they do that in egc if the killer gets all full of themselves being all "I'm so much better than you" and all while, kinda clearly, being carried by their build/killer/rng. It's a way of saying "you sure about that? - Let's test this and if you're still as full of yourself when you don't have stuff to carry you." (in that case it's not trapper; it's whatever killer they think they're oh so good with). I find it somewhat cringe - it's a friggin game - but at the same time I find it just as cringe when people get all full of themselves when they really aren't at a level where they should be. So it kinda balances out, I guess 😂

    Its difference though.

In real matches you may have to take a down and not using pallet to not create a deathzone for your teammates in later chase. You may run into teammates' Gens and disrupt them, give kill free hit on teammate.ect

In 1v1, you can use whatever you want to. You also dont run into teammates' Gens. Often people can make much longer chases in 1v1 (so they can use this to prove you're bad and was lucky eariler). People mistook the chase time in 1v1 thinking its possible in real matches, its not truth.

Though want to 1v1 is really unnecessary.

1v1 just seems silly to me. Often because someone's ego broke and they somehow think a 1v1 competition proves who is better, when the reality is it's just another match which doesn't say who is the better player, but who won that one time. It's mostly a waste of time when people could just be playing the actual game.

At least if you play it timed it's: starting at shack with one person at the door and one on the palette (you can do it differently who's on which side).

Survivor crouches and runs (timer starts), killer swings one time with a launch for the cooldown and then you chase until you downed the survivor. There are different rules but it's usually 1-2 perks for both, sometimes with sometimes without exhaustion.

The win-condition is getting a longer survival-time than the opponent.

(I may be wrong on some things, I'm not to hard into comp or 1v1-comp)

A 1v1 is a largely pointless tiny e-dong measuring contest, usually demanded by someone who just lost and trying to salvage some pride and can't process that the game isn't only chase.

if you stand in a specific spot in one of the shipping crates your opponent can only spawn in 2 places, both of which were in your LoS lol I remember being a twitchy Lil 15 year old playing whack a mole spawn camping people....fun times.

The only time I 1v1 in DBD is when I play Skull Merchant then it's 1v1 city. I've even met a couple duos who willingly take turns and let the game end that way, nice sports they were
