Hag is underrated

I just played my FIRST game with hag, and I already got 4k. I think her power is good enough for map control and can give you really good games. My map was hawkins.. What do you guys think?

I don't really think she's underrated she's super strong but i think some maps kind of aren't as good for her. Basement hag traps are a death sentence usually.

With devour hope, find the totem, put your trap and now you have 5 tokens of devour hope secured.

Btw, you can use traps for anti loop. Just needs SOME logic.

It's not really that easy as traps can get destroyed pretty quickly. also you'd have to zone off that area pretty much for effective defense.

She is indeed amazing, if your opponent is bad at the game. Good survivors will know how to deny your power by triggering traps forcing you to resent them and lose chase pressure. Better survivors will know how to use the camera spin to their advantage do that even at loops traps are unconsecuential.

She is 110% so without traps she is just a joke at any loop that is not the new borgo tree tile.

Finally the totem thing you mentioned is very easy to counter as survivor, you trigger the trap and prerun, so the hag has to go back to the totem, while she does that you can do gens or reset if she gets some cheeky hits during the match. Point being she is NOT getting hooks if you are keeping her busy protecting the totem so devour doesnt get to be into play.

You can also bait her into taking a chase while another player does the totem and if she doesnt have the iri addon by the time she arrives the totem should be gone.

The only scenario were hag is actually obnoxious and I would consider actually very strong is a basement camping hag, that thing is an abomination to play against.

it is not that easy to counter. Rusty Shackle is only remaining add-on that gives exactly no feedback that you triggered a trap and Mint rag allows hag to teleport at command on any traps.

In my opinion, Hsg is one of the biggest placebo killers when you first play her. The reason is that you acquire Nurse's blink ability from triggering traps. An incredible ability with extremely shallow/low skill-floor. The inconsistency of the trap triggers over-time and exploitable weaknesses is what builds up over-time for a hag player. how good hag is how player approaches her weaknesses.

Last time I remember playing hag few month(s) ago was againts some almost team comp where they knew exactly where I put traps, knew exactly how to bait them and destroy them and the only kill I got was with NOED at the very end of the game. It was like the most ugly and sufferable game as Hag I played.

She is good againts soloQ tho.

I have no idea where Hag is now, 4-5 years ago she was a top 5 killer. Now? She was under threat from being outdated but then she got buffed and maps getting smaller and healing being nerfed were also massive buffs for her.

She's probably high B tier these days it's entirely dependent on how coordinated the team is. I don't think SWF automatically means bad game because most people don't know how to play against her but experienced teams that know to trigger traps while she's preoccupied and can break the 3 gen early are going to give her a tough time but at the same time if they mess up and she gets a basement hook then the 4 man out is almost impossible if the hag is good.

She is not underrated, she is just boring to play, that's the reason why she is so hard to see.

People know hag is good they just don't like playing hag for any number of reasons, one of them is usually that you can never default to a 115 killer if things get rough like survivors find all your traps or break your 3 gens early so you can't make a good web. The best playstyle often conflicts with most peoples average or preferred playstyles

I always found Hag to be ineffective, no matter how long I tried to mess around with her. Without being to insta-swing on teleport the survs get ok much distance against a slower killer.

How do you figure? It's not like the totem can't be cleansed just because there is a trap. You crouch through the trap and then destroy the totem.

Overall Hag is a powerful killer but against coordinated teams, her power is miserable. You are so busy setting up traps that you don't have time to innitiate a chase, which gives survivors time on gens and the chance to go around disarming your traps. The worst part is when you pick up and 2 survivors run through all your traps. Yes, they aren't on gens but now you are a 110% killer without a power until you set your traps again.

Getting a 4k in your first match doesn't tell a lot. I mean, I played a game as backwards Nurse (I was only allowed to move backwards) and got a 3k. Does that tell you anything about how strong she is? Not really. The second game I lost with 0 kills and the next few games weren't much different. But in 1/1 games I had a 100% win rate. That's why statistics are done with big numbers.

Most survivors under 1k hours simply don't know how to deal with her.

But whenever you get a team who know, you are not going to enjoy that game... Unless you use Shackles, that makes it more difficult to deal with.

She can get looped so hard by people who know how to counter her since she is slower than the other killers. In low MMR she stomps though.

    • all the people who say "she is very easy to counter, tier D or F!!!"... I would like to see them against a really good Hag. definitely her power depends on the map, she is not an easy killer to use (she is a "strategic" killer, like Trapper or Singularity) , but used well it's really scary. I follow a streamer "hag main", and I can tell you it's truly devastating

I mained Hag before SM got her rework. Hag is good even against a SWF if you can stay cool and smart. Her power allows her to chain hits faster than almost all Killers. But the amount of stress she induces is insane. I played her for ages and still no other Killer comes remotely close to how it feels playing Hag against a good SWF who know the trap “tech”. Also people are incredibly mean when you play her.

    Play her a bit more.

Soon enough you'll find survivors quite easily able to deny your power.
