If the event is so unbalanced, go play the regular game mode
See I keep seeing this comment being made on complaint posts about the event abilities being OP, and I’m sorry but that’s so dismissive and quite frankly unfair.
If you’re going to do a limited time event based around grinding massive amounts of bloodpoints and earning event-only items, why would you make that event unbalanced to where one side or the other has to massively struggle to maximize off of it? Thats incredibly unfair because you’re basically waving a carrot in front of their face and saying “you can get all of this but you have to play a completely unbalanced game mode that makes your chances of getting it very low.” This coming from the company that doesn’t wanna create FOMO.
Yes they can play the regular lobby but then they don’t get to earn all of the extra BP bonuses from the event.
The Lights Out mode was clearly unbalanced but playing the regular mode instead if you didn’t like it wasn’t a big deal, because there were no incentives you’d be missing out on if you didn’t wanna play it. THATS THE DIFFERENCE. Same with My Little Oni.
This isn’t a random game modifier mode. This is the Anniversary Event. It’s a HUGE once a year event that they know people use to grind massive BP to level up their characters. Putting that reward behind a modifier with obviously unbalanced abilities is going to cause some upset and it’s a completely valid constructive criticism.

I see the killer only players are going to come after you.

And what’s funny is I’m not just talking about killer abilities. But hit dogs love to holler. 🤣

Aren't the majority of the extra BPs coming from the cobblers? And aren't the cobblers being used in the regular mode?
What massive BPs are you missing out on exactly? I know that some anniversary events give a few thousand BP and no doubt that can add up, but if everyone uses a cobbler, even in the normal mode 20k BP becomes almost 130k. But I haven't played the regular mode since the anniversary started so I don't know if they are being used there.

Grabbing invitiations, interacting with event totems and chests from the Tryk's, and using event abilities grants extra BP outside of what you normally earn in a match.
I've personally gotten a score on the scoreboard of 90K (on survivor) playing the event.
I think too many people are taking the event way more seriously than they need to.

It might be harsh and unfair but...yeah, if you want normal DBD, play the normal mode
All the extra points you get in the whacky mode are from doing the whacky things. If you don't want to do the whacky things (or go against the whacky things), go play the normal mode.
You can still stack all the cobblers you want over there so still plenty of points for you to gobble up

Exactly. I’ve had matches where my base points on the endgame screen are 130-140K because of all the event interactions with the totems, chests, and other tryks.

They’re not “whacky” things they totally unbalanced things, is the point people are making. And it’s a requirement of the event to interact with them in order to max out your BP as much as possible.
Telling people to go play normal mode if they don’t want to play in an unbalanced match, that ultimately grants higher rewards, in a game that people LOVE to complain needs better balanced is disingenuous at best, hypocritical at worst.
Again this isn’t just some random unbalanced game mode that is just a different version of the game, and doesn’t grant you any extra rewards. It’s the yearly anniversary event, and it’s the FIRST TIME they’ve ever run the anniversary event as a separate game mode.
But thanks for your response. I disagree but I appreciate you engaging.

I suppose the only thing they could do is just like... double or triple bp even for the normal queue while leaving the anniversary event the way it is. Probably still worth more BP even at Triple BP but it would make the points closer

so i've played over 100 matches of killer on the event mode and only lost once (no draws) to a 4 man team of tournament players.
i've escaped many times as a survivor but the reality is that if the killer knows what they're doing they're winning almost every single one of their games and almost every match isn't even competitive.
the point is that bhvr did a very poor job balancing the event mode.

I'd have to agree with the person above me that I win almost every time and probably 50% are stomps as killer. When I play as survivor it's 5 gens left 30-40% of the time. All gens completed in only 5 games.
