Do you think Babysitter will make it to live?

It seems crazy good, imo, but I'm unsure what the reaction will be during the PTB as it has some interesting characteristics/play making potential without the conspicuous action or end game conditions found on similar perks.

I’m hoping it does I already liked using bt babysitter but it’ll turn into the ultimate teammate anti tunnel or free escapes in the endgame

I already love both BT and Babysitter....I'm so excited for this! Fun perks to use during the game, but even more awesome during the end game

I’m all for anti tunnel perks completely. I just don’t want the same problems the rest of the anti tunnels perks and features have which is it being used offensively when I’m trying to go after the unhooker.

I hope so. The person bringing the perk is putting a big old target on their heads when the person they unhook disappears and they're the only one standing there. So it's a very altruistic perk and needs to be strong or else no one will bring it.

I don't see enough tunnelling in my games to need to bring it but with tunnelling being pretty much the #1 complaint since I started playing years ago, BHVR need to bring in actual good anti-tunnel perks. If people don't like it, well, be careful what you wish for because they'll probably end up slapping a basekit solution on it. And personally I'd rather they didn't do that.

Doubtful if it'll get use on its own. Seems like you'd need to dedicate a whole build for it to be strong.

I hope it does, though it needs to deactivate during endgame. Otherwise its a free escape

I'm willing to let it go to live as is, just to possibly see some perk variation.

I hope so, but seeing that they gutted perks in the past such as Reassurance…

I would rather this perk not be buffed at all if it can't work in the end game. Then what's next, BT and NOLB?

Ds and otr are totallyfair being disabled in the end game, as is the (expose) killer camping out their free kill at the end.

Killer endgame perks like NOED say that Survivors are not entitled to a free escape just by doing 5 gens, so I don't see it as a bad thing that killers can't just get a free guaranteed kill just because 5 gens were done.

Besides, in my humble opinion I'd rather survivors try and deprive me of a single kill instead of just confirming a 3 man out. Anything to encourage survivors being altruistic when they don't need to is welcome in my books, I say

People keep forgetting the reason BT isn't used in the first place: It's an altruistic anti tunnel perk. You protect others, not yourself, so it will never be as popular as, say, DS, even if it was theoretically stronger.

We'll wait and see, I guess.

    I think it will.

Anti-tunnel perks are healthy, BHVR seems to be trying to buff anti-tunnel perks in general, and buffed Babysitter doesn't seem like it's super abuseable outside of the endgame. It will essentially be a counterpart to Off the Record (OTR). OTR makes the endurance on unhook last for a long time, now Babysitter will make the speed on unhook last for a very long time. I honestly think it might be more effective, because a lot of killer players are going to see an unhooked survivor take off like a missile, and just go for the slower/closer target.

Actually, BT used to be meta and run on basically every build even though (after its initial, long-ago change) it helped your teammates and not yourself. It was a communal anti-facecamp protection - you brought it and you assumed your teammates brought it for you. DS-IW-DH-BT was the meta for a year or two after I joined.

It fell out of favor with basekit endurance, since it was no longer necessary to combat people getting whacked right off the hook. At that point, its effects were mostly outclassed by Off The Record. I doubt Babysitter will be very meta for the same reason; it's just not necessary to play the game in the way BT used to be. So I agree that much… just wanted to point out that a perk being purely altruistic doesn't necessarily mean people won't run it. #themoreyouknow

I do think one difference though re BT and Babysitter is that the killer could never be sure that BT was in play until they went for that hit. So they could still target that individual. With Babysitter it's clear off the bat (hook?) that the perk is in play, so the killer will focus instead on the unhooker. It's a stronger altruistic perk than BT ever was. So for that reason, I also don't think it will be meta. Most solo queue survivors don't even take hits for injured death hook team mates, even if they're healthy and haven't been hooked once.

Extremely useful for Endgame saves, but I'm mostly concerned about how disproportionately this affects M1 killers compared to Blight or Nurse. The top still have little issue tunneling, but now the bottom are going to struggle with that and securing a kill in Endgame.

I think they made the right move in buffing it, and I'd rather it get toned down a bit numbers wise than reverted or left as is.

blight gets affected by the perk in loops. 110% m/s for blight on loops is very good. you can turn corners so easily and use objects more easily.

While nurse is only killer to be unaffected by the perk on grand-level, She has different anti-tunnel weakness, that being Endurance. Namely dead hard and Off the record. These two perks are good anti-tunnel perks vs nurse. they put her power on cooldown.

There exists a single killer who is unaffected by the perk. This killer is Pyramid head. A killer capable of putting survivors in cages. Since cages don't count as hooks, He is able to bypass the perk entirely.

I know, I started in 2021 and I hated to run it all games, but today it's an insane perk that literally makes you invulnerable when combined with babysitter, yet really slept on because your teammates are unreliable

It looks cool, hopefully it's not so strong people get flamed for unhooking without it, as happened with old BT.

Wouldn't mind since I rarely tunnel but I'm convinced it won't have much impact.. A killer who wants to tunnel will still do it - "You're only postponing the inevitable"..

Also, most complaints are about getting tunneled out at 5 Gens.. If a team can't do a single gen before someone dies, what's another 30sec added to a chase? Then you get tunneled out at 4 Gens.. Doesn't make me happier compared to now..

Something needs to be done about that in the base game mechanics and not with another perk - especially, again, behind a pay-wall.

Can only hope that most killers cool down and will find out that you can also win without tunneling and that some losses, even in a row, is not the end of the world

It will either get nerfed some or stay a top perk for 6 months until they randomly kill it

When did they ever "gut" reassurance? It's always been great for anti-camp.

It will be really strong. While yes, it does leave the unhooker to get chased, that's kinda what you want to happen anyway as a survivor. And remember, as the unhooker you see the killer's aura so you can get to a safe tile in most cases before taking a hit. This combined with the absurd haste will be very strong against weaker killers. I think it only needed a small buff already. Maybe instead of a prolonged haste effect it should be a sprint burst like how buckle up works.

Man, I'd have loved to have tried OG Background Player with Babysitter
