What are your thoughts about the new haddenfield?
For me personally I think the map is way to killer sided now. Dont get me wrong the map was a nightmare for killers for nearly the entierety of it existence, but everytime I go an this map Im allready thinking thats an easy win as killer or an easy lose as survivor. I played a match as killer on it today and the rng for the survivors was so bad I havent seen anything worse than that. The Rng spawned two pallets between main and the other buildings. One pallet was the on in front of main the only other pallet was the one, that is located between the two small bushes in front of the left building. The whole street from left to right was emty. The chases were as short as you can guess and I won while one gen was done.
In that reguard I would say the map got nerfed to mutch, even if my survivors got the worst of the worst I think the map is to strong for killers. What do you think about the map?

Unplayable map for survivors currently. We told the developers as much on the PTB but for some reason it was allowed to hit live servers anyway.
27 -
Definitely killer sided. They did good making the buildings weaker but they really need to make the rest of the map more fair for survivors to balance it out. The pallets are way too spread out.
12 -
I wish they had just left it as it was. Yes it was difficult to play on as killer but I really didn't mind it. I would have been very happy if they had just made the wall changes and left the size as it was.
It feels like the atmopshere has gone as it is so small.
17 -
Free win for the killer unless they dont trow the match somehow.

Map went from being a terror for killers to being a terror for survivors.
Sadly it was / is for all the wrong reasons.
5 -
It’s way too small now. From its previous iteration, the only change it needed was the window loop.
12 -
Unbelievable how after the myriad of negative feedback during the PTB, this stuff reached the live servers.
There is nothing to work with for survivors, pallets are a joke, houses have been destroyed and I really think that my restroom is bigger than this map.14 -
As a killer main, it feels super killer sided and unfair to survivors now. It feels like an easy win for every killer I've played as on it, even including the ones I'm complete dogwater with.

Funny how this map became from the most survivor sided to the most killer sided
2 -
I think the previous version was mostly fine just myers house bit too strong when facing good survivor they should just nerfed that and then leave it to be. But now it's super killer sided and you have to purposelly throw the game to lose there.
6 -
Killer sided. They did a good job nerfing the houses and making the map a little smaller was fine. But they need to get away from this trend of using weak edge-map pallets to balance maps. They're doing the same thing to Forgotten Ruins in this next update and it really does not help survivors that much at all both because the pallets are weak and because they're on the edge of the map.
2 -
They gutted it into oblivion. Its a tiny dead zone now. Everyone told them this but the feedback was ignored.
13 -
It's even scarier considering they used the Haddonfield rework as an example for how they are planning future map reworks during the recent AMA.
Map is too small and loops are non-existent.

Most killer-sided Map in the game. I am surprised to not see more Killers using Offerings to Haddonfield, if I want an Outdoor-Map stacked in my favor as Killer, I would go to Haddonfield all the time.
IMO they just did too much. You can do several things to make a Map weaker for Survivors:
- Reducing the Size
- Reducing the strength of Windows
- Make Pallets more unsafe
- Reduce number of Pallets
But they did everything for Haddonfield. You cannot use any of the Windows in the Houses, especially the Upstairs-Windows are useless without Balanced Landing, since the Killer is on you before you can move after the Stagger.
But I think even worse are the Pallets at the edges of the Map. They are just outright bad and unplayable. I dont mind unsafe Pallets, but those are too unsafe. And the size is also too small, especially the side with the Myers-house is a Joke.
I dont think the map was that bad before the latest Rework. It had bad things for both sides, but working on the houses while making that Highway of a street a bit better for Survivors would have probably solved a lot more than just flipping the Map from Survivor-sided to (extremely) killer-sided.

Terrible. Old Haddonfield was killer sided outdoors and survivor sided indoors. They rightfully reworked the indoors to be more killer friendly, but the outdoors are (imo) even worse for survivors. Dead zones and ridiculous edge map tiles. I'm surprised the devs were happy enough to release it in that state.

Frankly bizarre how it went from the most survivor-sided map in the game to the most killer-sided one. What a journey of questionable decisions we walk.
The thing is, the map in its middle incarnation was balanced. I don't think it was a good map, because it had really horrible elements for survivors (massive deadzones in middle of map, nerfed house of pain, tight 3gens and many exposed gens in general) and really horrible elements for killers (very strong main house window loop, near infinite at double window house.) But it had a strange sort of parity within that. The revamp just slashed survivor assets everywhere while not doing anything about the killer assets except the 3gennability.

Yesterday I bumped into a Huntress… yes, a HUNTRESS, that sent us to Haddonfield which used to be one of the most terrible maps for her.
4k of course.4 -
I've had Killers take me to Haddonfield plenty of times since the rework too.
Killers actually picking Haddonfield to play on…
Says it all, really.
7 -
It's one of the worst maps for survivors ever since the change, and what honestly makes me mad is that during the PTB for it's rework is that it received negative feedback and yet it somehow still reached live servers.
They need to scrap current Haddonfield and go back to the drawing board, issues are is that there are too many unsafe pallets. it's incredibly small, and it's very open.
5 -
It is unplayable for survivors and a shame to even be in the game. There is nothing right on this map.
- Too small
- No useful windows
- Almost no playable pallets
- Not enough enterable bushes
- Probably more problems
The map went from relatively fair before to a free win button for killers.
I would like that they bring back the first version of the map, so that I could play it, because it looks so good on old videos.
Simply haddonfield is extremely unfair currently and therefore extremely unfun. I don‘t even try to win there as survivor.
6 -
It looks awful. They completed destoyed the visuals and by extention the atmosphere.
It no longer looks like a neighborhood with so few houses left, and all the crap in the middle looks completely out of place. I hope they have another go at reworking it. With an emphasis placed on keeping the visuals as close to the original as possible.
7 -
The Map was to good for survivors before, the windows were a real pain to deal with, so not rlly that fair before, but if they would have remove the infinite potential of the windows and added some more palletes it would have been fine.
To your take, that they reinvent the oldest version. No absolutly not. Big, long fencewalls, infinites on the top floors and to many god pallets. This would just switch to rlly unfair for killers again.
Bushes would also be somthing, they dont need to add.
1 -
The map had strong windows shure, but a huge deadzone outside, which made it fair. Now they removed all windows + a lot more bad changes, but didn‘t fix any survivor problems. It wasn‘t really hard to deal with those windows except of m1s without anti loop ability, but even for them it was doable.
Your bias shows on the last one. Oh no bushes are OP😂.

I think my house is bigger than Haddonfield.
11 -
My house doesnt even have pallets or vaults and Haddonfield is still more killer-sided than my house would be.
4 -
Big time. 100%. Way way too small.
3 -
You’re right. It doesn’t look like a quiet scary little neighborhood anymore.
It instead looks like an e-sports arena stage.

Haddonfield make rancid abattoir look like a safe haven

As someone who has been playing since 2017, I've always wondered what someone who started recently would think looking at older DBD. It's weird knowing that not everyone got to experience things like old Haddonfield, OG Freddy, or the first Mettle of Man.
The original version of Haddonfield was very unbalanced and it should never return but I wouldn't be opposed to having all the old maps and such become available for a short event so that newer players could experience it. And it would be interesting to see how unbalanced the old game would've been now that people are actually good at the game.

The pallets in the houses are so terrible and the size is too small. I don't think the devs know what to do with the map anymore since its undergone so many reworks already.
1 -
I don‘t know except of too long fences with windows, what the problems were? If they make the fences like on badham, it would probably be fine. I really would love to see walls that re longer than 2m again.
In old videos it had a lot more windows, it was bigger, a smaller street and you could walk on more roofs.
Alone the smaller street would make this map a lot better.

Post rework it was almost entirely survivor sided, post second rework, it feels absolutely miserable to play as survivor. The houses' god windows certainly needed removed, but BHVR seemingly decided that they needed to make every window on the map a deathtrap unless all the survivors brought BL, or they outright removed them and decided to replace them with some of the most unsafe pallets we'veseen to date. On top of that, completely deleting 1/6 of the map has made the map feel absolutely tiny.
The only good thing that the second rework gave survivors was that most of the outdoor pallets aren't as egregiously unsafe anymore.

The map had multiple issues throughout its life. Some were fixed and some stayed until the map was reworked.
The issues with it were:
- Balanced Landing was broken on the map to the point the perk had to have the stagger reduction removed. Even after that nerf it still led to near infinite loops.
- The Myers house was busted. There was one window right next to the basement that was basically an infinite. The loop was so long that chase broke often so the window blocker didn’t always trigger. Unless you were playing Nurse, there was nothing you could do about the window. They ended up blocking this window off completely a few months before the rework but even then the rest of the windows in the building were also pretty powerful.
- And then there were the houses with basements in them. They were like the current ones and the ones in Badham, except they had almost every window in the house open. You pretty much had to hope they messed up or you’d never catch them (unless you were Nurse again)
- Most pallets were super safe. Aside from a couple of the car/trash loops on the roads the pallets couldn’t be played around. The worst was the ones that spawned in the garages of the house where the walls were just long enough that you couldn’t mind game them. And there were a lot of pallets.
- The fences were a huge issue. You could see someone and do literally nothing about it. They also had windows spawn on the fences as well which were absurdly powerful because of how long the fences were.
- Totem spawns were hilariously bad. There were memes everywhere about one that could spawn in the middle of the road. And considering Ruin was the only thing keeping gen speeds in check for awhile, it was a huge problem back then.
- The gens were difficult to patrol due to the size and the distance between them.
- The gates were near impossible to defend so you couldn’t even make a comeback in the end game.
- Not a balance issue but just a funny little thing - the texture on one of the back walls of a house was just a stock photo and still had the watermark on it haha
Overall it was a pretty unhealthy and unfun map to play on as killer.

I still wana play it and try it out. Hopefully they make a classic mode with old perks/killers/maps/addons/items… one day
1 -
It may be a little bit too killer sided now but it is on the right track, just needs a few adjustments
0 -
I don’t think any version of haddon had any little bit of it being killer sided. The current one should stay.
2 -
- Rancid Abattoir can do even worse (if RNG wants it).
1 -
it’s killer sided. We tried to let them know on the PTB over and over 😅
3 -
Not sure how it's "killer sided." I've never had an easy match on it no matter what the version, unless survivors just gave up. Even then, good survivors can just 3v1 you.
2 -
They could do with putting another park area on the other side of main house, because that side feels a little barren. But that's about it.
1 -
The entire middle of the map (street) was a deadzone before this recent update...
1 -
I dont say bushes are Op I just want to say, they arent a factor for map balance

I HATE Haddenfield and Midwich.
Haddonfield is now a tiny killer sided map (think fish in a barrel)
Midwich has bad flow and bad loops.
0 -
Haddonfield should have been rebalanced with the first unique elongated map. Now Haddonfield is just a simple Badham.
0 -
Improved with not having a massive dead zone mid map as it was but I feel that perhaps it went a bit too killer sided with how much the size has been reduced. I don't enjoy this map much but it is far from my most hated (Toba, Nostromo and Hawkins take that prize for me).

You can easily 4K there without killer power.
