Why do yall do this?

When I have a bad game I decide to be nice and open gate. Then you got "those" players who brought flashlights and try to get blind at the end. Like, you could drop the flashlight instead of beaming me after I wanted to be nice. So to those who do it, why?

Trying to flashlight the killer at the exit gates is as toxic as teabagging, and a lot more common. People are just rude like that.

They could just be farming BP. That's how I take it anyway.

I've always felt it depends on the context. If they're tbagging or interspersing 'come here's as they do it, it's toxic, but if they're just standing there, you're just standing there, and they start blinding you, they might be doing it for last-minute bloodpoints or a challenge. Communication in DBD is hard.

Same as how 'come hit me out' is sometimes taunting and sometimes the survivor trying to be nice.

Can't you just be a "hard boiled guy" and like turn around then walk away once you open the gate

If i chose to be nice, they can blind me if they wan't.

Opening the gate as killer is often seen as a bloodwarden play.

I do then they play the sore winner move and do the "come here" wave move. It's annoying

Simply leave the exit, get some BP by breaking pallets/walls or spamming your power or go into the basement.

With all due respect, you aren't "being nice" you are simply giving up because you got wrecked by the survivors - which is fine as we all get absolutely stomped at times and just want to move on.

That being said I do get your complaint and as a survivor main who has played a lot of killer I can empathise so personally I will just leave so you can go to the next match. However I do think some just want extra BP and when a killer gives up and goes AFK I will also get in a few free blinds before finishing gens and leaving.

I don't think most are being toxic

It's funny how many survivors need a validation and get killer to witness their heroic escape.

I never understood that mentality, no reason to wait but they just don't get to leave, teabag the killer, but then are not really toxic in end game chat. Like is that some basic reflex players have?

When survivors manage to actually escape unless I need to push one survivor out to deal with slugs, I just don't go there and start doing something on second monitor instead. It's funny how much time I manage to waste for survivors.

I get your fruatration, but I'd try and reframe your mind on that tbh. Once you've gone friendly, you're friendly. You're not a killer with survivors anymore, you're a bunch of players in game that you all like, so everything now is about BPs and making it funny.

If I get blinded while friendly I start looking around all panicked like "Who did that!? Where did that come from!?"

I will slap pallets for stuns, and if I'm playing Trapper or Skull Merchant of something I'll put down traps/drones for them to disarm.

Make sure you m1 as they go through gate to wave.

This all sounds dumb and stupid... but honestly it does wonders for dealing with tilt. Teabags don't do anything, you've gone friendly, they just make themselves look like an ass. So instead of getting annoyed, take it as an invite to use your power. When you get a nice survivor (they do exist), who pokes you goodbye or something, give a little nod.

It things like this that do wonders for your own mental, and you realise that DBD is not actually as toxic as you think it is.

the way you describe it it seems more like they try to get some more BP since you are obviously farming (being nice and open gates instead of giving up and open gates) - maybe they need blinds for a challenge or something?

but i will never understand this us vs. them mentality that some forum posters are expressing here… some seem to only see the bad eggs on one side and generalize without even realizing it..

What I get even less is when the last survivor waits at the other exit gate and runs out as soon as u turn around the corner to that gate.

Like give me a hit for points or leave but dont make me run across the map or wait for a minute just so I can watch you run out. Never made sense to me
