This generator glitch is ridiculous
Seriously how hard is it to put out a hot fix to this already? I'm seeing it on average more than I am regular matches at this point, not sure what really triggers it but it's extremely frustrating to play killer when all of a sudden at 3 gens left, just one pops and it automatically counts as 3 gens like ######### is this even about? I know it wasn't the survivors doing the gens either just last match there were 3 survivors left at 3 gens and I had two slugged they were trying to do flashlight plays and all of a sudden every gen pops? I ended with a 3k still because the other survivor just immediately left their team instead of helping but if one of them had been up instead of slugged that game would've been an unwinnable match I would've had to camp immediately over a a literal game ending bug instead of play normal, I really hope this is immediately resolved for this games sake or killers aren't going to play this hot mess you've got going on.

Yeah I had this too. It‘s extremely frustrating. Sadly it only happened when I played killer. It never happened as survivor for me :(.

They already said it's coming in the first hotfux patch. So I would guess Tuesday.

I've had it happen as survivor far more than I'd like during my SoloQ sessions. It feels extremely cheap, especially when the killer is playing fairly.

The bug is that when a survivor leaves the match (even after death) the amount of required generators is reduced by 1, so it will basically happen every match unless the survivor has some reason to spectate.
2 -
The current theory is that when a surv is sacrificed and then leaves the trial (in other words not spectating, just dips) that triggers a gen or two to pop. Could be related to number of survs and gens left to do. A suspicious mind may ask if this is some kind of catch-up mechanism accidentally being let loose.
To your question about a hotfix:
Years back they streamlined things and began to put out updates for all platforms all at the same time. To do this they have to submit it to Microsoft and Sony and Nintendo, who each separately have to certify it. That takes around 3-5 days usually, and is not free.
If it was just Steam for instance, they prolly could put out three hotfixes a week if they cared to, but it's like 8 or so platforms altogether. They simply cannot put out updates that fast, which is common for any sizable live service crossplay game.

Damn, with that kind of wording I would dare to put my tinfoil hat on and speculate that one of the devs screwed up and left a trial version of a catch-up mechanic for survivor against rage quitter in the life version. 😂

I think it's just a bug because the mechanic is used for custom games, since in custom games the amount of generators required is reduced if the game starts with less than 4 survivors
1 -
Oh, is it still? I never played customs and the mechanic for gens when survivor that left during loading screen, instead of cancelling the match, had been a thing in the earlier years in pugs.

I understand all that but just the fact they allowed something like this to happen and be on the live game right now is crazy, you would think man we probably should fix this before it's live but nope not this company, they're probably just boosting survival rates artificially to make Lara look good to the license holders, it's strange how these bugs happen randomly throughout the years when content like this drops and it just so happens to be in favor of the character they're dropping

I don't see them testing out in-house survs spectating or not as a possible trigger for gens popping like this. It is a unique break, well beyond their immediate ability to hotfix, and the Killswitch certainly cannot help here.
I will say it is another argument for a complete re-coding of this game from the ground up, which I believe they have said in the past they have no plans to do. We can only dream...

They fix it in the next Hotfix. Which is the fastest they can do. Chill.
4 -
Yeah it terrible but you just gotta wait for the fix.
i just rotate to playing the other side more into the bug get fix. played about 16 killer matches today and was suprise how often the bug made a difference . It still winnable just a bit tougher.

Do you think this is a test for a new mechanic?

Something similar happened with Merciless Storm. That was busted for several weeks—maybe even a month or more. This bug has lasted (assuming it’s patched next week)… a week?

Na, its likely for 2v8. Where they want the number of generators required to finish the game to be equal to some percentage based on the number of survivors in the game.

I posted earlier about the Hatch now working differently to normal- it closes when you jump in and the doors power. It does make me think there’s something going on in the background. An update like this shouldn’t cause such a bug which has a basis in an old mechanic. To me it has to be further experimentation that’s crept in.

You can hardly compare the two, one ended a gens progress and the other immediately triggers the endgame
0 -
It's granting one generator's progress vs deleting a gens progress.
And the extra gen completion requires a survivor to quit the match per gen, where deleting a gen only required equipping a perk and it basically doubled the number of gens needed.
Not to mention the merciless bug was never kill switched and took about two months to fix, and this current bug will be fixed almost immediately.
Does it need to be fixed? Yes and the fix is coming. But the crying is insane, there are like 4 posts on the main page about it and people are losing their minds.

Well regardless of what you consider crying ive only made one post about it and it definitely is an issue that needs brought up unless you just never play killer, I've already been informed it's being fixed

It should honestly become a "feature" granted the epidemic of tunneling and the near 100% impossibility of that 2 or 3 survivors will finish more than two gens. Killers really have no idea what it's like to be at a disadvantage.
Its really not a world ending situation if one survivor escapes because of a bug.

Best way to counter it totally is playing fairly and eliminate someone at 1-2 gens. But I still been able to win almost all the games even if the bug has happened it just made some games unneccessary harder noed might be now good perk to pick. I have been able to slug 3vs1 in endgame with it. If you get opportunity slug all in 4vs1 go for it.

Absolutely no to this entire take.
I've had multiple times 3 survivors live, playing SoloQ mind you, because a killer spread hooks fairly and got a kill with 2 gens left. It's absolutely unacceptable and painting over the issue with 'but tunneling' is dishonest.

There is a lot of game breaking bugs right now, it isn't just this bug, and it isn't only killers feeling it
2 -
I mention it because at the time of my post, there were 5 different threads on the main page of general discussion of the forums about this exact topic. People are spamming in general.
And it's not like your op reads as a nice 'are the devs aware of this issue?' it's an explative filled rant screaming and basically disparaging the devs in general.
So yes, "crying" and "tantrums" are how I generally describe that kind of communication.

Killers really have no idea what it's like to be at a disadvantage.
Have you played killer on the crow or garden of joy map?
