How is 0 kills "The entity hungers..." When you hook each survivor 2 times?
The entity feeds off emotion you would think that 2 hooks for each survivor would leave the entity pleased compared to one kill and all the other survivors didn't even get hooked once.

Because Kills are used for the message which is displayed at the end of the game.
(And Kills are also the default "Win" for the game, because Kills and Escapes calculate your MMR. So you having 8 Hooks is basically you playing badly for the game. If you would have camped the first person and then killed a second with NOED, you would have done better, according to the game. Fun. :) )

Game is called Dead by daylight, not 2 hooked by daylight

And about the lore, apparently the Entity doesn't care that much about how much blood survivors lose to satisfy her but she needs the black souls that she grabs with her fingers during the last stage of the sacrifice to be fed.

Did you miss the whole "kills = skills" a while back?
As far as the Entity is concerned if you're not killing then you're not winning. Same for survivors, it doesn't matter if you've looped the killer for 5 gens, if you don't escape then obviously you didn't win.
😅 It's a very faulty game "logic" which has been one of the main causes of people playing so sweaty.

You got a 0k, you failed your only objective, so you get a losing screen. I see no issue with that, when you fail to capture/escort the payload in ow or the other team gets more rounds in val/csgo you failed your objective and lose the match its normal for multiplayer games.
As killer you failed, the game naturally wont show a victory screen at the end.

I suppose it's primarily used as an endgame ranking.
It's true the Entity feeds off emotion, but it has designed the rules of the trial for a purpose best suited to meet its ends. It passively feeds off emotions, but perhaps the hooks are where it digests the most "nutrition" - that final, dying panic of knowing they will die probably fires off so much fear, that it's the most substantial nutrition the Entity gets. Like a power-packed punch of energy.
It's got billions of people inside the realms, and judging by it's power it needs a lot of nutrition. According to scientists, it needs 60% of the total available nutrition within to maintain and grow :D. It's different to, say, the Entities in The Magnus Archives, which are content to feed passively. The Entity here needs as much emotion as it can.
