Jailer or assassin?
I've heard from both sides of the isle on their advantages and disadvantages. Some people say you can do assassin only and win. Same for jailer. Which do you prefer to use? As far as I've seen. Jailers better because he creates slowdown. And has a massive radius making him far more likely to aggro on a survivor. Making him good for most cases. He also has such a long hunt time you can pincer with him. But I'm sure there's people that think assassin's better. So that's just my opinion.

If there were more significant performance differences, they could have been used properly. Also, the carnifex chase needed some features. Who would ever let Carnifex chase when there is a 10 second cooldown with any of the guards?

That's the point. You're not supposed to chase with carnifex. And there are significant enough differences between the jailer and assassin. Assassin is better for when you're actually chasing someone and can plop it down on top of them. Jailer is more about longer paths and controlling an area.

Jailer is very good at flushing survivors out and keeping them occupied, but otherwise requires your assistance to actually get hits. Assassin is way more likely to get hits, but only really flourishes when dropped on top of a far away survivor.
They both excell in different ways, I think. Holding the three of them to the same standard is obviously going to result in one guard excelling while the others fall flat.

Assassin.
Shorter cooldown times, more chances for hits, less being in M1. You can stall with Jailer but honestly, if survivors are smart they'll pressure the gens and evade both an M1 killer and a bot.

agree. assassin is more time efficient. Jailer has less counter-play for survivor but it takes longer to get hits.

Assassin for hits
Jailer to distract Survivors
Feels like more QOL changes could be nice to show the difference between Guards
Carnifex: If the intended job of Carnifex is to break pallets/walls or gens, why not use the remote pallet breaking feature from the anniv event with some visual touch ups?
Assassin: Movement speed should be buffed a bit since the purpose of this unit is to get a hit, detection radius could be reduced to compensate
Jailer: Apart from drawing paths, perhaps targeting a specific generator/hex totems and pressing the patrol could spawn the jailer next to it? Something similar to Freddy looking at gens to teleport to.
IMO drawing Patrol Paths should be limited to Assassin because correct prediction = landing the Hunt and injury is good gameplay. If the purpose of Carnifex/Jailer is to break or defend objectives, theres no real need to draw patrol paths with them

I’ve faced some really good Knight players recently who have had very effective map control with their varied use of guards!

both is ultimately unreliable, carnifex pallet gang is still most reliable option

Assassin is my default, and then jailor is usually my fallback. Jailor is nice for when I want to breathe and catch my breath.
