Priority queue would solve long killer queues

Let me explain how it works in other games. When there's a role shortage you play one game as survivor to get a priority pass which lets you get to the front of the line as killer. This would increase the overall supply of survivors while giving those killers a payoff for contributing to shortening queue times.

It would be nice if all those miserable matches I had as survivor yesterday amounted to more than a waste of my time.

The game would have to use a points system where you earn points towards a priority pass by participating. Of course, if the game were that smart maybe we'd have a decent matchmaking system where players who participate get put with other players who participate instead of getting 2 or 3 teammates who stealth around the edge of the map from minute one waiting for everyone else to die.

There's a huntress in every game. And I mean every game.

I wonder how much of the extra queue time is down to almost everybody wanting to play Huntress?

It seems like a good idea, but it would probably run into the problem Halloulle mentioned above. People would load into a game as survivor, die quickly, and essentially throw the game.

This happened when Overwatch tried to implement a priority pass system to get more people to play Tank and Support. People would arguably throw the game just to get their priority pass and queue up for the Damage role, which had long queue times like killer does now.

They could make it so that you only get a priority pass if you manage to escape as survivor, to prevent people from afking.

Nothing will fix the matchmaking for the event. The best you can hope is that the event returns with some suitable tweaks. I don't see any game mode where survivors don't have their perks being popular long term. It's where all the creativity lies. Without that, it's gonna get old pretty fast.

The MMR system is also to blame in situations as well.
