Cross progression not working
i’ve tried syncing my xbox and PlayStation accounts and it goes through, I open up my game and my old cosmetics and stuff aren’t showing up.

Have you logged into both platforms? We highly recommend players boot the game on the latest version before enabling Cross-Progression, in order to facilitate the syncing process.

Im trying to link my switch and Xbox but I don't own the game card for switch anymore so I can't open it on there, is there anything else I can do?

Is there suppose to be a delay or something? I have all 3 of my accounts and devices updated, I've logged in on each and...nothing.

I’m having the same issue. I linked both my Xbox and Steam accounts and merged them and logged into both accounts. My levels and everything are there but all of the paid dlc characters are saying I don’t own them on Steam and that I need to unlock them even though they have my cosmetics and perks equipped.

I tried booting each one up again and Steam is still showing that I need to unlock all of the other survivors and killers even though they have all my cosmetics and perks on.

yes I did that already and on Steam like I said it shows I own all the outfits and stuff for all of the characters and when I view them they’re leveled and everything but won’t let me access any of the killers or survivors except the base ones. It’s saying I need to purchase them again even though I purchased all killers and survivors on Xbox. Everything else synced fine like currencies and levels and cosmetics. I just cant access killers or survivors

What other platform are you linking? I know there's some limitations for switch accounts.

I only linked my Xbox and Steam accounts that’s it. I had never played on Steam and wanted to move all of my stuff there. All of my levels and currencies and cosmetics transferred just fine but it’s telling me to buy all of the characters again. Even when I preview the characters it shows I’ve prestiged them and they’re wearing the cosmetics I have equipped on Xbox. It’s just not letting me access them on Steam for some reason.

Did you have any family sharing of the DLCs or did you buy those DLCs on that Xbox account?

I bought all of the dlc on my Xbox account that’s my original account with everything on it.

like see it shows I have leveled Mikaela and she’s even wearing the cosmetics I purchased for her and has her load out but I can’t use her it’s saying to buy her again. It’s like this for every other survivor and killer.

Family sharing was the only thing I could think of for having cosmetics earned and character progress on characters that are locked. Some people share the same console and have their own profiles. For you... they're probably gonna have to iron out the kinks.

I’m not understanding the family sharing thing. I have it set as my home Xbox and my family has accounts on it and they have access to the dlc. Should I take it off as my home Xbox?

Think of it like this... you currently have multiple profiles on that Xbox that have access to the same DLC that was purchased 1 time. 1 person owns the key to that DLC and every other account on the xbox is borrowing the keys to them. With the cross progression, they have to limit how much that 1 purchase can be shared. If you did not purchase the DLC using the profile you are trying to link with steam, the borrowed DLC isn't going to go to steam.

I'm not trying to argue or accuse, was just explaining how family sharing could lead to something that looks like your current problem. Locked characters that have progress.

I'm on the second step for linking my xbox where it says verify game status, the problem is that I opened dbd through my xbox app because i'm on computer but it's not registering and saying i haven't opened it on xbox.

no I completely understand that and I’m not implying that at all I’m just saying I did purchase it from my personal Xbox account. I was trying to figure out by me sharing it with other people if that affected it or something. Because they’re using the same console.

Anyone who's having problems with cross-progression should open a ticket:
Submit a request – Dead by Daylight
People on the forums can't help you besides asking questions along the lines of "Did you try turning it off and back on?" It's even the same for mods, they can't do anything but ask basic questions and point you to the FAQ. For real help, you need to open a ticket and give them specific information like your Cloud ID and platform types and all that stuff. They'll have to take a look at your account.

I linked my PlayStation and Steam accounts, and only the Steam version shows up for some reason. I synced the PlayStation multiple times and made sure it was the right account, and still only the Steam shows up on my BHVR account. It's weird.
Not sure if it's because I own the physical copy for PlayStation or what's going on.

I believe before it'll transfer over you have to open up DBD on the console itself, not the app.

I am experiencing the same issue. I synced my Steam, XBOX and Microsoft Store. My Microsoft Store didn't have any DLCs so perfect to check what synced.
My Steam DLC (only about 4 DLCs) appeared ok with the characters unlocked and any currency I earned was there.
On syncing XBOX the currency, inventory (I believe) and skins from Battle Passes and Auric Cell purchases are there. However none of my DLCs purchased on the XBOX Store have synced. I should have all characters but most are requiring repurchase and this behaviour account isn't picking up the duplicate DLCs. So seems like XBOX Store purchases are not syncing.
Oh and no family sharing, from reading previous comments. All purchased on my own account and all showing as 'Install To You own this' on the web site.I have submitted a ticket.

Breakshot, I was in you're exact same issue. What just worked for me was I went on my xbox and un-installed and reinstalled all of the dlcs I had. I refreshed the sync after just in case and now all my stuff is transfered to steam. Hope this works

Do you uninstall then reinstall then refresh or do you have to boot up game after re installing all dlc on Xbox?

I just tried this and it didn’t work for me. I uninstalled all dlc on Xbox and then reinstalled it. I rebooted the game on Xbox and then closed it. I refreshed the game sync on my account and then logged into Steam and my stuff is still locked.

Sorry to hear that. I was really hoping my fix would work for someone else. Submitting a ticket might be the only way to get it resolved which sucks bc they didn't even respond to my one from monday

Worth a try, I'll just uninstall the whole game with all DLCs and reinstall to see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion and glad you at least got your content.

Didn't work unfortunately. I changed my costume while on the XBOX and the costume change carried over ok. But NONE on my XBOX store purchases have carried over. So all the characters, the charity case, the Clown Pulcinella skin and no Silent Hill skins from the Silent Hill edition of the game. (Heather Alyssa skin and Pyramid Head skin).

You guys are not alone on this issue. A week later and not a single response for my support ticket. Two Bug reports, one declined and the other virtually ignored. Two support tickets(1 week apart), both ignored. This is just plain incompetence.

Had same issue, then it worked somehow, all dlc was working from xbox to PS5. 2 days pass, all gone again! Seems very unstable.

Same as myself, everything but DLCs moving away from XBOX. Steam DLCs appearing fine on other platforms. Disheartening.

I booted the game on both steam and ps5 and it still gives me the "failed to sync" email.
