OK, what the hell is going on?
For the past several trials, survivors have been acting nice. Aside from a few teabaggers here and there, and the odd idiot in the post-game chat, survivors have accepted that camping doesn't happen without a reason, they've said "gg" in the post-game chat (and not sarcastically), and even engaged in polite conversation from time to time.
I like it, don't get me wrong, but it's seriously creeping me out, given the usual vitriol I have to report whenever I dare touch killer. Did a ban wave just go out or something?
EDIT: I want to emphasize, again, that I'm glad this is a thing. I'm just trying to figure out why it's a thing.

I am sure you know the reason. And btw I noticed the same yesterday.

Ez baby killer needs crutch NOED. Get good you scrub.
Better? ;)

There you go.

Like I said, it's not that I don't like it, but it feels weird given the usual comments I get spewed my way.
Yours, by the way, is tame by comparison.

That makes no sense. Even if toxic survivors stopped using it, they'd still play the game to be toxic in other ways (there's even a thread by one such person on this forum).

@Orion Perhaps the Decisive Strike rework has culled the toxic survivor population, blessing us all with a respite of mutual respect?
2 -
Ok, this is getting ridiculous. Can you please stop with this hate-inducing survivors threads and posts?
You used to argument things in a very smart way but with all of this free hate you're spreading lately it's getting quite annoying. Not every survivor is a piece of #########, mind you.

You can't be toxic without a second chance. You go down and you are going on that hook boy.
2 -
Could be the lobbies, too. Everything from the rank to who I'm being paired with seems different.

Know whats funny? Barely anybody is using DS anymore.
They cry about tunneling, finally we get a good perk against it and nobody is running it. They aren't running it because it isn't brokenly overpowered anymore. Some people won't settle for anything less than OP.

I can only speak of my experience with survivors, and to say it's usually negative is to put it mildly. I've had everything from moderate insults to death threats against my family and children spewed at me. I am expressing surprise that survivors have been nice because it's unusual, in my experience, while pointing out that I appreciate it. There's nothing hate-inducing in this thread.
I mean, I kinda doubt it, but if so, good for us.
1 -
That's a fair hypothesis.
I know, right? I've been getting more and more survivors near my area (hell, even from my own country!), and they've usually been pretty chill.
Does that really surprise you? Unbreakable is the same way.

Hold on, you're about to get your first salty comment!
EZ escape baby killer duuuuuuud!
1 -
Whenever I was maining legion my survivors were nicer. By nicer I mean not hate mailing me.

Mine have been somewhat of a mixed bag. I've had multiple games where I've been tunneled throughout most of the match (like 3~4 gens worth) and haven't been pipping much, but that's nice too in a way. I like that they've made it more difficult to pip. It's fun when you have a really tense match and you pip. ^^ Feels rewarding in a way and with how the new system works, the game needs to be (as someone else put it) a long and healthy match where the killer was able to get multiple hooks and so on.

And have people been courteous in the chat as well?

Remove the source of toxicity and it'll eventually run out.
DS being the source ofc.
1 -
Assuming you're all right about the DS rework being the source of this change in attitude, I appreciate it even more.
1 -
People have been pretty chill from what I've seen, but I'm stuck at rank 10 so I dunno how it is for higher ranks. Every time I get a pip, I get tunneled the next game. xD; I'll say I haven't had any toxic SWF teammates chewing me out for being a dumb random and blaming me for why they died since the update, though. So, that's always nice! :D

You believe that the changes to DS........... sort of "cleansed" the survivor playerbase of the toxicity?
1 -
No. It just made them more fake and scared so they suck up to killers because they know they are powerless.
3 -
Okay I'm back and I'll actually participate more in this discussion. Recently, I just don't let things get to me such as a bad killer using NOED on me and dying for it. In fact, I give the last survivor the hatch whenever I play Nurse since I love encouraging survivors who survived the longest to keep going on the next game. Sometimes I even let the killer sacrifice me if they did terrible, but with this said, I can't speak for everyone. Perhaps you got really lucky since Dead by Daylight is known for its toxic community.

It probably has to do with the rules in the new agreement, it mentioned bullying and threats could result in a ban. Maybe it has to do with the rework though? As far as being nicer in trial? Idk but we have to play ball to also pip otherwise rip emblems. Iβve noticed more killers being nicer in trial too, which is refreshing.

Can't get a chance at a gg for me. 8 games in a row with at least 1+ DC

I tested something today. I let my friend play (inexperienced dbd player) because she wanted to try the new killer. When the survivors won all of them would dance at the gates, hide in the map, do 360s, teabag, point finger etc.
After that game the same survivors joined the lobby so I played instead of my friend and I picked insidious Leatherface and camped at 5 gens nodding my head and messaged all of them "gg ez" after winning in like 3 minutes. NONE of them replied. 2 of them rage quit so I reported them on top of that. Fun times.
What I'm trying to say is: If you camp them and they're nice and say gg they probably think "better be nice or he'll facecamp you all the time".
Also survivors now have no actual free escape perk anymore. The new decisive strike does NOTHING if you run enduring which I do all the time. With enduring it's kinda fun to get d-striked because the stun animation is so fast and short. In fact it wants me to get d-striked. I like the new decisive. Makes tunneling hella fun. Thanks devs! π

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
1 -
Got it. In order to stop toxicity I should have someone incompetent pretend to be me and then actually show up when the least expect it and be as much of an ######### as possible. Clearly that will solve all of our problems.
1 -
PS4 still features the same turd flinging I've experienced since the beginning.
When you have to delete conversations started by other players just to make room for the messages you get from your real friends, I'd say we have a problem.
1 -
Not exactly. Normally, when an eye-gouger gets his own eye gouged, he stops eye-gouging others.
1 -
Why would I even try to stop toxicity? That's the job of the developers not mine. I'm the customer and I'll play as I want as long as it doesn't violate any rules. If people try to annoy me (or my friend who casually wanted to try new content) I'll obviously "want to play toxic". Action --> reaction.
If the devs wanted to "reduce" toxicity they'd at the very least give killers an option to end the game when the gates are open (granting the survivors their escape points, of course) but instead they force killers to search toxic survivors who hide in the map for the lolz even when the gates are open for minutes and escort said survivors out while watching the other survivors teabag and 360 at the gates till you force them to leave.

Yamaoka I like your attitude. :D
1 -
In that phrasing, you would respond to a poke of the eye with a poke to their eye, not poking your own eyes.

My english is not perfect, sorry.
What I meant is the usual offender gets a taste of his own medicine, by the actions of others. And then stops offending.
A bully stops when someone beats his ass, or gets punished.

Sometimes, though sometimes not. You have to realize a lot of people who hurt people are hurt themselves. It's the thought of spreading good. If you spread bad, bad stuff will spread. If you spread good, good stuff will spread. It's all about how you want to approach the matter.
0 -
@The_Crusader They're not using it because they're using Jane and her perks.
1 -
Shhh, you're ruin his narrative.
0 -
@Yamaoka That's actually toxic. You're part of the problem.
2 -
In real life, your arguments make a lot of sense and are respectable. Hopefully more people thought that way.
In this videogame about people chainsawing others, slashing with machetes and cleavers, hanging in rusty meat hooks and eating each others' guts, I'd say let the bully learn the hard way.
0 -
That's the thing, even those who were initially upset I'd camped relaxed once I'd explained why (gates open, 1-3 survivors around the hook, that sort of thing), because they recognized it was the right tactical decision under those circumstances. Usually, they ignore all reason and just keep being salty.
0 -
That's what I thought at first, but it was several trials in a row (again, besides the odd teabagger or salty sacrifice).
0 -
My after game is usually nice, because I am the one being nice, but since I do not play pc (yet) I was not the one in your after game, I would have been truly nice, but when I am killer, still the survivors that are triggered in endgame still occur
0 -
Survivors conspired to troll us by being nice for once.
Obviously.

teabagging is a great way to get tunneled. theyβre learning
