Unplayable due to stuttering

Im coming back to dbd after probably over a year of break, and the game is no longer playable.

There are constant stutters every 1-2 seconds that pretty much puts the game on being to an unplayable state.

I tried -dx11 as a launch option but that only helped slightly, the game is still on an unplayable state.

Any suggestions?

My specs are:

- i7 7700k at 4.8 Ghz
- MSI GTX 1070 OC Edition
- 32GB 3200mhz RAM
- Game installed on an NVME SSD (C:)
- Windows 11

Have you tried deleting the shader cache? It has been known to happen with unreal games.

It should be relatively safe to do, make sure the game is closed when you do this.
Then go to %appdata% :\Users\"You"\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache (YOUR ADRESS MAY VARY)

Delete all the files that are not being used and in theory if your problem is a shader issue, then the game will ask your graphics card to make a new shader cache for you for Dead by Daylight and it will probably not bug out again. (probably)

Other help than that? Reinstall the entire rig. 😎

I figured that Discord was the culprit.

Unsure what exactly, but it seems like closing discord stops all kinds of stuttering.
