I don't tunnel, I go after the unhooker not the person that was just unhooked….. BHVR need to do something games are so ez feels like I'm killing baby rank 20 at this point…..

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." -Bruce Lee (Allegedly)

You are the 10k kick Myers, and they are only used to 100-200 kicks. That's what happens when people practice and extensively play any Killer. You know how to play in the Myers mudpit, and they don't. You can try to learn a different Killer and eventually you will have the same thing happen more or less.

I don't believe SBMM works at all. I've seen no evidence presented that it actually functions in any sane way, other than Peanits claiming that it's working as intended, and of course not providing any statistics or anything.

At this point I've exhausted my "benefit of the doubt" supply on the developers. I don't believe anything they say at this point unless they provide some form of evidence to back it up.

    I've wondered the same yesterday.

I've killed a few good teams (p100s) that gave me some trouble but after them I've got teams that were double-hooked at five gens.

I felt I had to waste a bit of time to give them a chance to do some gens before killing two or three.

Play against comp players or strong streamer players.

A big fish in a small pond is nothing when tossed into the big ocean.

Maybe if OP's post didn't read like a copy paste template of how easy Killer is, I would be inclined to believe them.

Either MMR is broken constantly for them or OP has already gone against the best their region has to offer and OP is stuck in the pond as a big fish

While I agree with your reasoning, I believe it's true that MMR is not working as it should. In my case it goes both ways, sometimes I do great and it seems I am way over the opposition's skill level, most of the times it's the opposition who is way better than me. Maybe once in every ten matches the skill is actually balanced.

I agree that SBMM is effectively non-functional. I've had so many times where I will lose, either as killer or survivor, and then in the next match just get completely stomped. Or the other way around - I will win, and then next match win even easier. It seems completely random and I think it seems that way because in reality it is completely random.

Here's what I think is really happening: the SBMM system exists, but there aren't enough players in the pool most of the time to make it work well AND give you short queue times. The only way to make the system work well when the player pool is smaller is to increase queue times, and BHVR aren't willing to do that because longer queue times means more people leaving the game, and that's the last thing they want. So shorter queue times gets the priority and that means expanding the MMR range for matching players to the point where it is effectively meaningless.

Of course, I could easily be proven wrong if the devs would show MMR scores in the game (just show in the scoreboard after each match), but I don't think that's ever going to happen. The excuse is "we don't want players to know their MMR scores so they don't intentionally tank it" is not a legitimate one - players can do that whether or not they know their MMR scores. I think the real reason they don't want to show MMR scores is because it will reveal what I stated above to be true - that the system effectively does not work because of how wide the MMR ranges need to be to allow for short queue times.

I think a lot of the more experienced Survivors are still playing 2 Vs 8 while they still can. I've been getting zero prestige Survivor newbies in a few of my Killer lobbies, you know the kind that panic and run straight into you as soon as they hear a terror radius. I'm not the greatest of Killers but with 900+ hours, I've probably gained enough MMR to be way beyond newbie MMR by this point.

Anytime there's an event that splits the queues, I've observed that the MMR system completely breaks down.

2v8 plays a big part, but so does time of day. If I play past 11pm, the games become extremely sweaty, whereas if I play in the middle of the day, the games are surprisingly easy.

The example I always see is hardcore survivor challenges with Otzdarva. People point out that their games do get harder as they start to win more. Even then it's really just a coin flip. Once they are in "high MMR" they will get the sweatiest nurse you've ever seen in one game and then a killer who gets two hooks in the next game. It still seems like it's 50/50 even when you reach the softcap. Maybe the average match gets harder but it's still incredibly inconsistent.

This is a good way to put it. Myers is your Main, OP. Of course you make him look amazingly S tier, you know exactly his every in and out and how to use him very very well. I'm the same way as a Ghostface Main, I can make him do things that people call BS on just because I know him THAT well, and am THAT good with his kit. But on other Killers I am not as good, though I do admirably on most Killers I play anyway.

That said, I do think MMR is not functioning properly, especially right now. I think 2v8 screwed up a lot more than just queue times…

I agree with this completely. The reason BHVR gives for not wanting to show MMR does not hold up to the slightest bit of scrutiny, yet they desperately cling to this reason as they think that it's the only way they can possibly save face — not realizing that it's transparently disingenuous. Revealing MMR would demonstrate to everyone just how badly the system works.
