HELP! Boyfriend accidently linked my playstation account
My boyfriend was trying to link his playstation account so that it and steam would be synced, but it automatically put in my playstation account without any confirm button or anything. And now its unable to unlink my playstation account from his bhvr. Please help idk what to do and now our accounts are merged. We play together all the time and now we cant. Is there anyway that he can delete his account to unmerge them?

Oh no :( I'm pretty sure there is no way to unmerge once it's done

he can’t delete his account to unmerge it?

I don't believe so as it acts more like an override

You can open a support ticket to find out for sure if there's anything at all that can be done:

Response time varies, it can be a few days or I've had to wait multiple weeks.

Unfortunately once an account is synced it cannot be unsynced.

Why aren't there more safeguards in place to prevent this from happening? It's not an uncommon problem, there have been people having this issue since the first day cross-progression dropped. There should be password confirmations and warnings before anything irreversible is done. People can lose hundreds of dollars if the wrong account is linked.
Every time I link and merge a platform account I have anxiety through the freaking roof that I'm somehow going to mess up and link the wrong account. I'm not exaggerating, there's so much time and money that could be lost with a simple mistake. I hate it.

I agree, there was nothing to confirm that it was the right account or anything. My bf is really upset and he did put in a support ticket but I guess they can’t do anything about it. I’m hoping that maybe they can figure something out. My boyfriend is really upset , he’s a killer main and has almost every killer which he has paid for, and im a survivor main and have most of the survivors. We don’t live together either so we literally can’t play dbd without contacting the other snd telling them not to play. It’s super annoying.

I wanted to link my New Zealand Playstation account because Sony won't let me buy anything from the store if I use my original account from Australia. But when I went to try linking the account on PC (Never signing into Playstation at this point) I didn't get an option to link my steam account, it automatically linked to my Australian Sony account.
At the end of the day it is not a big deal, but it is annoying I did not get a choice to pick which sony account gets used.0 -
I don't normally get involved in console happenings, but I think this is really insensitive for BHVR to take the stance they can't help, considering all the things they do to show they care, like the inclusivity, equality stuff and all. They can help, but it might cost a little somethin-somethin to get it done— as in manpower hours. I think exceptions can be made for an honest, yet costly mistake and if a person or persons have a lot of money invested in the game, or if they put a crap ton of hours into it, don't you think it would be a show of good will to help die-hard customers and fans in this situation? It's not like they were doing something malicious like hacking, exploiting, or gaming the system in some way.
I find the whole thing pretty damn shameful. Good luck, Kanadeez.

Are account rollbacks not a thing?
The lack of checks on account synching is one thing but to not have the option for a simple rollback is a pretty fundamental oversight.
I'd gladly take losing a couple weeks progress over all of my stuff.
