Are you excited that both Lights Out and Chaos Shuffle are returning?!

I personally loved lights out and I'm glad it is returning for a little while.

I didn't know Chaos Shuffle was returning until I saw it on Twitter/X today!

Not excited for lights out as survivor. As killer yes. Chaos shuffle seemed ok for both but I disliked it as killer.

No. I didn't like either of these game modes. I'd much rather have 2v8 come back instead.

I thought chaos shuffle was kinda lacklustre I would rather just have a perk randomizer option in normal queue

Didn't care for either of these modes the first time and probably won't touch them at all this time. Maybe I'll give Lights Out a try for a few matches just to see what's different, but I'm not expecting much.

nnot really hype but it cool they bringing them back.

Ill play both but mainly just to complete the mini tome that usually come with it. 2v8 is the only mode I'm really waiting for. Shuffle a nice casual cool safety mode that don't really ruffle any feathers. and lights out.....well......we see what they did to improve it.

Excited for Chaos, not so much for Lights Out but will try this new version. Especially if there's rewards.

I loved lights out as killer, so I'm happy it's returning.

I have mixed feelings. If there are not enough changes for lights out it will dissapear again. The darkness was really nice but it felt empty (only played survivor)

Chaos Shuffle was better but no darkness. 😁

If bhvr want to compete the modes chaos shuffle would stay. And keeping both would probably kill the normal game?

I think keeping them as event would be better.

Chaos Shuffle was fun, but I already run non-standard builds a lot, so it's not that big of a deal to me.

Dredge's Nightfall causes ACTUAL PHYSICAL PAIN in my eyes (it's the only Killer I've given myself the all clear to DC if I run into a third in one session, thankfully no one plays it). Lights Out is just Nightfall ALL THE TIME. Needless to say, I have some choice words to describe how I feel about this modifier.

Am for lights out but they should just disable any noise notification from unhook and disable aura from hooking.

Also tuning of stalking working through the darkness, shouldnt beable to not actually SEE someone and full expose them as ghost face lol

So far the modes have been a flop for me. I'm hoping to see some of the modes they asked about in the feedback survey a while ago. Now those seem more appealing than what we had.

Looking forward to chaos shuffle. Was a breath of fresh air last time not facing the same meta all the time.

I am a bit indifferent to lights out.

No, both modes are just mid compared to 2v8

Lights Out is terrible and is one of the worst things they have ever created for this game. I will try it to see what they changed but I can't see myself playing it other than doing the tome.

Most killers do not like going up against stealthy survivors in the base game. A game mode base on being able to hide easily will just be extremely tedious. Legion pretty much ran the game mode last time and i don't expect much different this go around. Most people just pick killers who can circumvent the challenge of the mode.

Survivor side suck in the mode because tactics are even stronger than normal. Insidious proxy camping and easy to 3 gen since u can't see what been done.

So long as Legion isn't playable, yes I'm very excited <3

I'll keep it 10/10 1hundid stack with you.

Lights Out was pretty bad. Most people tried it out and immediately stopped playing it (after they obtained the event rewards). It favored one side drastically unless they were very very bad or meming.

Chaos Shuffle was the better one. Not by much. But it was better.

The mode we need and want is 2v8. The others arent even close to that level of enjoyment (also crazy 230+ perks per side were basically null/void & people loved it).

I have zero motivation to play the new lights out as killer.

The whole point of lights out, is the lights are out, so the survivors might get jump scared by the killer. Giving survivors lanterns will take away many of the jump scares, which removes the whole point of the game mode.

Excited for Light's out, it's my favorite mode.

Excited for chaos shuffle. I loved that mode. Trying to get value from weird perk combos was extremely fun.

I never wanted to see light's out again. It just has too many flaws. It's simply not interesting and too tilted in the killer's favor. The lantern and increased afc range won't solve the fundamental issues it has.

Chaos Shuffle was fun. I really hope they randomize items and addons this time. And that they don't allow map offerings, the whole point is that everything is supposed to be random.

Thats the thing, something like that would not really be popular. The good thing about Chaos Shuffle was that you did not go against the best Perks most of the time, but random ones. AND that it was like that for everyone.

It was fun because all players had random Perks. It would not be fun if you are the only one having random Perks and the Killer/the Survivors you go against have Meta-Builds.

    @Topic:

Not so much for Lights Out, that mode was really boring. I am excited for Chaos Shuffle, even tho I would have hoped for Tweaks (which they did not do for now, since they wanted to bring it back early).

  • Aven_Fallen
    Aven_Fallen Member Posts: 16,279

This would be ideal, yes. That was the one bad thing for Chaos Shuffle, that players could not sweat with Perks anymore, but do it with Items, Add Ons and Map Offerings.

But the Devs said that they did not change anything for Chaos Shuffle, simply because they wanted to bring the gamemode back early, so they did not implement any feedback they got.

Conceptually, Lights Out is an amazing game mode, but their execution is really, really, really bad. Part of the fun is replicating the feeling of bigger maps by not allowing anyone to see anything, making it disorienting and unnerving. It'd be more difficult to navigate and everyone will run around like headless chickens and it would feel like a horror game.

But as per usual they give an advantage to killers by making survivors blind and deaf while giving killers gen auras and notifying them of unhooks which, urgh… it's like survivors are playing Lights Out while killers are playing normal DBD.

And if what I understood about what they wanted to do with the game mode this time is correct, instead of turning off the lights a bit more for killers, they turned on the lights a bit more for survivor which is literally the opposite of what they had to do to make the game mode fun. Why would anyone play this game mode over normal DBD.

Lights Out with teleporting hooks and survivor classes or abilities would be neat. But as it was the first time, I doubt many will play it.

Chaos Shuffle will always have a niche though, it's basically normal DBD with extra spicy RNG.

Lights out i only liked as a killer and chaos shuffle was fun on survivor. LIttle sad they didnt make chaos shuffle fully random.

    • I won't play Lights Out, it's the mode I liked least of all. on the contrary I will play a lot of Chaos Shuffle, I haven't had this much fun in years (I've been playing since 2020)

Lights out was fun and the only mode where Nurse suffers from a real handicap. Survivors are almost always out of sight so they break line of sight effortlessly.

During that mode, I play M1 killers.

Chaos suffle needs to be permanent. More interesting and fair mode. BUT, this mode need anything for anti tunnel will be more efficient.

Tbh, Lights Out could be a fantasitic hide and seek mode.

The changes made to it are... eh? Why not bring in the teleporting hooks, without seeing their auras ofc, and be done with it? Or better yet, remove gens and make it a mode where you have to hide until the timer goes down to zero?
