Why does Eruption still have a cooldown?
Like I get why they are scared and stuff when it comes to this perk, but this cooldown is actually pissing me off so much.
Bec the perk is so weak right now and on top of that it has a cooldown of 30 seconds in which if you kick a gen, it will not trigger eruption on...
Its just so awful that they didnt remove that cooldown yet; thats literally all I want them to buff about this perk and im happy.
Is that really too much to ask for?

it has cooldown because it is suppose have incapacitation effect. they put cooldown there so that incap doesn't overlap with itself. they should lower cooldown to 15 seconds and return incap to 10 seconds. the 10 second aura reading is pointless.

it's just regression, aura reading actually is useless 99% of the time. but the sad part about the perk is it eats up regression events like breakfast.

You can take a look at my post in @Feedback and Suggestions
I posted my reasoning there.0 -
again because incap is suppose make up for regression event being burned.

Eruption hasn't had the incap status effect since Skull Merchant release
0 -
On top of that the aura reading doesn't even feel like it stays up for 10 seconds.

not true, skull merchant was able to use the perk with incap. eruption got over-nerfed.
the effect is pointless. they would need rework the perk if it was an aura perk. Like if you kick a gen, survivors within 8 meters of the gen have their aura revealed but that could new perk.

Except the perk got changed to its current form in 6.6.0. Which is when Skull Merchant released. Other problematic perks with Skull Merchant such as Call of Brine and Overcharge were nerfed the next patch in 6.7.0

maybe i am misremembering it. i know remember using it. maybe it was between 6.6.0 and 6.7.0 without incap but fast regression kicks. my bad if i made an error.

the first iteration of Eruption never bothered anyone so then it got buffed number wise so i dont think it will be a problem if they bring back the og eruption with %6 regression and 16 seconds of incapacicated

I understand enough of a cooldown so you couldn’t stack the effects but 30 seconds is overkill
0 -
you could never stack the effect even with a cooldown of 0 seconds; bec after you trigger it you need to kick a gen in order to activate the perk again…
0 -
you could still stack it, there was more then enough time to kick a gen, because back when gen tapping was still a thing.
I’m taking “stack” like: survivor is incap for 15 seconds, then gets errupted again because the killer immediately kicked their gen then got another down.

I mean you are just wrong here.
It's physically impossible to stack the effect of this perk with itself and it also never was possible.
Because even if you would kick the gen multiple times, it would still only trigger once on the gen when you down a survivor.
It doesnt matter how many times you kicked the gen before the down.
I just dont think you understand how the perk works really…0 -
okay I just now saw ur edit, but even that is not a good argument imo and even if it was it definitely is not a good argument for a cooldown anymore since it got nerfed and doesnt do that anymore anyways…

Instead of a 2º regression instance i would rather have gens blocked X seconds and aura reveal.

I never said that’s how it works now. I said couldn’t, which is past tense. The original eruption had a reason to have a cool down but even then it was overkill and now it’s basically unnecessary. That’s why I said so you Couldn’t stack.

Bad survivors will still lose to it, so they'd just nerf it again.
0 -
yeah also maybe if they didnt overbuffed it at the first place we still might have had the effect at least for 16 seconds
0 -
I don't think it needs a cooldown at all. Main downside is you basically can kick gen 4 times (if you have killer with good chase).
You lose stacks very fast. Either remove CD, or buff %

Part of the problem there is the aura is hidden by the little explosion bubble, so by the time you see the aura, half the duration is already gone.
What it probably needs is to
- increase the aura reading to 15 seconds, so that it can actually be a bit more usable,
- Increase the damage it does to the progress to 15% this puts it a bit more in line with other gen defense perks.
1 -
Why would you ever use it anyways? It eats two Gen regression states.

some people just dont wanna run pop, grim or pain res every game but they also wanna run slowdown so they have more time in the game to have fun and/or win b4 the game is over in a blink of an eye
1 -
Removing the completely unnecessary and annoying cooldown first, b4 thinking about different number buffs would be a good start imo.
0 -
100 % agreed it does not need a cooldown which is why it needs to go asap b4 we can talk about other buffs.
