Does Object work with Eyes of Belmont?

I've been seeing people saying it does, and others saying it doesn't. It's a confusing question and I'd like to confirm whether it does or not, if someone knows please tell me!

I think it doesnt because it doesnt reveal killer's aura for a set period of time.

It reveals YOUR aura to the KILLER and then reveals killer aura to you for the whole duration of your aura being visible.

If I remember right OoO is scaled by Lethal Pursuer instead as it's killer who sees your aura for the definitive amount of time.

You would get better results pairing eyes of belmont with scene partner

It does work with the 3 second aura reveal duration if you are the obsession, so it reveals the killer for 5 seconds but they will only see you for 3. I don't know how the interaction works when the killer is revealed by them revealing you.

    It does not.

Lethal does work with Object because it extends the killer's aura reading on you from 3 seconds (which is timed) to 5 seconds. Since the killer can see you for 5 seconds, you then also see them for 5 seconds as well.

But you seeing the killer is not tied to any timer, it's only tied to however long the killer is able to see you. Since there technically is no set duration in this case, Eyes of Belmont does not extend it.

I believe this is the full list of perks Eyes of Belmont can interact with:

    • Alert
    • Babysitter
    • Breakdown (its secondary effect)
    • Dark Sense
    • Eyes of Belmont (its other effect)
    • Fogwise
    • Hardened
    • Inner Focus
    • Scene Partner
    • Strength in Shadows (its secondary effect)
    • Troubleshooter
    • Wicked (its secondary effect)
    • Rancor (when the Killer's aura is shown to you after a gen is completed)

I've been meaning to experiment with this, so now I don't have to. Thanks for saving me the trouble. 😁

It's a shame you didn't test it yourself. I can tell you the truth now that Behaviour has patched it in 8.3. Behaviour has tried hard to define that object of obsession only lets you see the killer's aura when it's not obstructed externally WHILE your aura is revealed. Eyes of Belmont extends ANY SET AURA DURATION time by 2 secs. While the Devs had explicitly answered this question before, they said it shouldn't work. However, that definition I mentioned before doesn't always line up with how the coding works. Eyes of Belmont wasn't refined, it saw that object of obsession 3 sec aura reveal as a set time and added 2 secs to it. Since PTB and live match, its always been giving 2 secs to it. The patch didn't specify what they did, so its possible they also nerfed eyes of belmont every time the killer uses their aura perk while OoO was on as well. Yes, because they also added 2 secs on.

Moral of the story is whenever a perk or mechanic comes out, veteran and pro dbd players are always prodding it at all angles to get an optimised use out of it. Even if the theory says no, you should check it out anyways unless its super obvious. For me, when you read the description of eyes of belmont and OoO, it wasn't SUPER obvious, it was like saying it sorta shouldn't but Eyes of belmont sounded fishy, saying, Any set time aura reveal I detect, I will add 2 secs. And technically OoO 3 sec is a set time. So, is it gonna work or not? Does the coding reflect what the devs are trying to say? Is there a loophole?

I agree its a needed nerf, as much as it pains me because it was like the OG MTF for aura builds. its broken, but so so dam delish. Anyways, I'm awaiting the next new perks to test them. But it truly is a shame, you could have had a month playing a broken build.

I use it quite frequently together with Fogwise and Alert. Object lights up for 3 seconds, then goes dark.. and you still see the Killer for 2 seconds after the Perk went dark. So yeah, it works.
