what's the point?
- what's the point of nerfing "distortion" to introduce more killer aura reading perks? some of them then reward those who play badly or have a really stupid activation requirement
- you don't break a pallet? — aura reading (new Zanshin)
- you louse a survivor in a chase? — aura reading (new Predator)
without forgetting old perks
- you open a locker? — aura reading
- you start playing a game? — aura reading
…and other strange examples
but what leaves me even more doubtful is Devs' comment on new Zanshin
"This will provide some useful info during a chase and allow for some interesting mindgames."
Mindgames with wall hack??? What mind game can I play if I know your location exactly?
I almost always play killer with at least a couple of "aura reading perks" and I don't find anything wrong with it... but I'm against this harsh nerf to distortion

A single survivor perk shouldn't be able to completely counter all aura reading. It's also not like Distortion is the only option.
OTR blocks auras for a duration after unhook.
Boon: Shadow Step blocks auras in an area.
Lockers block auras and are still effective against BBQ and Friends til the End where the trigger is obvious.
The nerf to distortion also opens up more design space for other aura blocking perks now that Distortion doesn't innately cover everything.

Zanshin sounds like a great way to get free aura reading on Gideon. Just leave the pallets down near gens really and you know where to go. If Zanshin becomes more meta then so can Any Means Necessary.

It's not that it counters it but distortion was one of two perks that let the survivor know they are being wallhacked. The other one is a licensed perk and I'm not a fan of that perk being paywalled as the game devs increasingly make aura reading more and more common
