Disconnects
Why are killers not compensated more for a survivor disconnect?
Image shows three survivors that dc'd after one didn't load in.
Games like this shouldn't happen. I shouldn't be able to burn bloody party streamers, and end the game with 7,000 blood points. That game was less than 2 minutes long.

Yeah that is so ######### dumb, i think a disconnect should give you points on every category in a way that if all 4 disconnected you got a 32k bp
4 -
@Chicken using that logic if a killer disconnects then the survivors should also get 32k bp. Way too big of a reward.
I agree that there should be a bigger reward for a survivor dc-ing. As it stands now survivors get 5,000 points per killer dc, so a killer should get a fourth of that per survivor dc. That would mean that each survivor dc would net 1,250 bp, a total of 5,000 bp if each survivor dc's.
Side note, imo the points should be distributed in the hook category instead of the hit one. Hook points are way more scarce and with dc's that category is nearly impossible to fill.

Because they are killers
THe reality hurts

Anyone who disconnects should have all perks deleveled by 1 (or lost entirely if it was already level 1) and have to buy them in the bloodweb again. I disagree with banning them for disconnecting because most of the time they still want to play the game, just not against a certain killer

When people DC like that...at least our offerings and add-ons should be given back :/ so ######### dumb..what a waste

I think if killers got compensated, especially if they got compensated handsomely for DC's then more people would be playing Legion, Nurse, Hillbilly and Spirit with their most toxic builds. I think that they should have some kind of calculation using the time the game lasted in minutes and each survivor DC'd. So maybe a 10 minute game ran and 3 peeople DC'd so 30% bonus to all categories. Make it hard for the killer to exploit that system by giving a reasonable time for survivors to survive or DC.

Your reward is a game where you automatically have more map pressure because a survivor disconnected and it becomes harder for other survivors. If played right, easy 3k.
3 -
Okay, and if i have three people D/C on me when i used an ebony mori, or iridescent add ons? You only get 600 some odd points for a survivor d/cing. You get MORE points in one chase with a single survivor than you get for that survivor disconnecting.

What if a survivor uses a escape cake and a decent item but people disconnect and the killer still has no mercy? Issue occurs to both sides. Just move onto the next match.

I think a good punishment for leavers would be if they DC 3 or more times they will lose all of there perks and they also go back to level one.

exactly, it sucks for survivors too. they should ACTUALLY do something about the d/cs. Give them a 1 hour wait time for their next game if they D/C. Doesn't even need to be a ban. If you D/C, you cant join a new lobby for at least 1 hour. That would probably fix the d/c epidemic.

I hate it when offerings are wasted.

That's an awful idea.

He's been throwing it around the forums for weeks, I've just been ignoring him.

@TheHourMan No. Game progression should NOT be reverted for any reason. Instead, they should do what other developers do. I remember in Halo: Reach, you received bonuses for playing games completely (not d/cing) and if you d/ced too much, you got like a 10 minute ban. Behaviour could be more harsh like Ubisoft is with R6S and implement a 30 minute ban for excessive d/c's.

Tell me then what will yours be. And you can ignore me if you want to. It's just an idea that is all

Not a network disconnection. But actually clicking "Exit Game"
If you wanna go through the effort of unplugging your internet to disconnect out of a game to avoid the delay, have at it. But that won't get you out of the game before i hook you.
My solution to disconnects? Have you been reading the thread? A one hour ban for anyone who clicks that disconnect button.

There's no way to tell if somebody disconnected out of salt or because they genuinely had to leave. So it'll be difficult to come up with a fair 'punishment' for people that do it. If a system is implemented, it should only effect people who excessively disconnect. Maybe have a daily limit, and if you exceed it you face the consequences.

That's why i'd like the timer tied directly to that disconnect. If they have to go, then they're leaving anyway, and won't be playing a new game immediately. If they were only stepping away for a minute, hide in a locker. Don't d/c. If you've actually got something you have to do in real life, that's cool. The timer won't bother you as much as it would someone who rage quits, or d/cs to give their SWF the hatch.

Yes that would be a good idea :) but the thing is will it work and prevent leavers?

The time penalty to queue for another match should be cumulative/multiplicative.
First disconnect? No penalty. It may have been a bad connection.
Second disconnect within an hour of the first? 10 minute penalty.
Third within 1h 10m of the first two? 30 minutes.
Fourth within 1h 40m? 90 minutes.
4 hours.
8 hours.
and so on.

I don't think permanently banning is a solution for dcs. That would get rid of a good portion of your playerbase eventually. An increasing time penalty per disconnect would probably work well. It would also be beneficial to keep offerings and add ons that because useless because of disconnects and perhaps and bloodpoint max cap per each disconnect. Alot of grinding to only lose moris and other items because of disconnects is useless.

Legion always deserve a good perfect DC.

That sounds fair. I'd be okay with that.
No one here is suggesting permanent bans. I'm suggesting the exact opposite. Punish immediately for d/cs. Not however many months later. Would stop streamers from doing it for "jokes" also. If they couldn't go straight into another game.
Why? Just play the game.

That I agree with, the more you disconnect the longer you have to wait until you can participate in official matchmaking again. Time should increase with a few hours and eventually days each time a disconnect happens. If disconnecting occurs too much it should switch from a temporary ban to a permanent ban.
2 -
not sure i agree with the increased time each time. If you give someone a one hour ban every single time they disconnect, they'll most likely stop playing all together, or stop disconnecting.
0 -
By increasing the time everytime they disconnect it will more likely hold them from doing it again. Like you mentioned before, it's a offense that bothers both killer and survivor side. Despite having the chance of getting banned right now it still happens way too much, everyday. Clearly the punishment needs to be more serious and those who are unable to take their faith should just be disabled for some time to play in official matchmaking.
1 -
fair enough. I do agree there needs to be a more immediate, tangible threat, to the disconnects.

Both survivor and killer are punished if either party dc's. If a killer dc's it eats up your offering, just like it does if killer uses bps. It's a loss either way.

Did you read any of this thread? That's the whole point. It hurts everyone if anyone disconnects, so disconnects should be punished.
