why is blight not 4.4m/s?
opinions on this? seems strange to me that a killer like chucky is 110% while blight is 115%

Blight requires a lot of mechanical skill. You can’t just play blight for the first time and get a 4k takes time. Especially now when he doesn’t have hug tech and most maps are full of clutter.

I'm a complete garbage at blight. :D Imagine he was 4.4? I wouldn't be even able to get 1 down. :D
3 -
My understanding is, while Blight's power is very strong, there are structures his power cannot function in.
As a hypothetical extreme example, if you put a moderately sized rock in a completely open space with nothing to bounce off, and run around it tightly in a circle, at 4.4m/s Blight can literally do nothing.
Huntress has this exact problem too already, short huggable tiles she can't throw over are a major pain point for Huntress... but she at least can theoretically win an m2 mind game (though it is very difficult/unlikely).

He definitely should be 4.4m/s.
Make him a hard killer to play with highly rewarding skilled gameplay.
19 -
Not every loop can be played by his rush alone, he needs to setup with his normal speed.
Also chucky has survivor's hitbox, so he doesnt count as a 4.4
9 -
Blight rush is much harder to hit survivors with.
Chucky is mainly 4.4m/s because he's a tiny killer with undetectable, so making him slightly slower gives survivors much needed more time to react. His tiny size also allows him to hug loops tighter, so 4.4m/s balances that out slightly too.6 -
nerfing killers based on speed is a bad idea imo

The Pig agrees with this

Because 110% killers are terrible. Out of our last 14 killers, 1 of them was 110%, and that was Chucky. People don't want to play that trash. They want to actually be able to catch up to survivors, not just rely on gimmicks or survivors playing bad.

The best killer in the game is 96% and Spirit, usually considered the third best, is 110%. Now that I think about it, is there a single bad and/or very underplayed killer below 115% speed right now?
Blight is an S tier killer as is and gets a lot of mobility and chase potential from his power. 110% would raise his skill floor without doing much to his skill ceiling, as he'd have to rely more on his power for success. A high skill floor and high skill ceiling is exactly what you want for the strongest killers in the game, so I think it would be a great change.
6 -
This applies to the majority of the killer roster. Should Nurse be 115% because you won't be able to 4k with her right away?
7 -
They made Legion 115% speed because his 110% speed version was horrible for MULTIPLE reasons.. If a killer was underperformed enough to be an example of "really bad 110% killer", they'd likely be tweaked until that wasn't the case anymore.
1 -
Blight is strong in most structures specifically because of his power, though; if he were just a basic 115% killer with awesome mobility he would just be a worse Wraith or Hillbilly, but he is pretty much universally agreed to be one of the best killers in the game because his power is frequently useful in chase. Would he be a lot worse if he had to Bloodlust a bit more often at the small amount of tiles that are tough to rush around? I don't think so.
To address the hypothetical of a moderately sized rock, Blight at 110% could still use rush to bounce of objects surrounding the rock; his lunge is impressive coming out of a rush, so he could likely still get a hit that way. He could still mind game to gain distance unless the rock was also small enough to see over. He could also just keep running around the rock as a Huntress would; not exactly riveting gameplay, but in this case "can do literally nothing" actually means "will get a guaranteed hit, but it will take several seconds longer".
Every killer should not have an easy time with every structure. It is part of survivor skill expression to run the killer to areas of the map where they're at less of a disadvantage. This does not imply that Blight must be 110%, just that 110% shouldn't be thrown out for this reason.
2 -
I don't see how this is relevant, as it doesn't contradict my statement and also doesn't have anything to do with Blight. Legion's power is useless in the chase, so of course it was horrible for them to have to chase at 110%. Every other sub-115% killer has a strong chase power.
4 -
You asked for an example of a weak 110% killer. I was simply stating that if there was one to list for you, it would be changed so it's no longer an example of a weak 110% killer. Bringing up Legion was just an example of a weak 110% killer that wasn't left as is.
1 -
If the only examples we have are killers who are no longer in the game, we can't dismiss out of hand that 110% killers are bad and no one likes playing them :)
3 -
We can dismiss the idea that 110%= good killer. I'm fairly sure old Trickster was never considered top tier either (not that he's top tier NOW).
1 -
Chucky was 4.4 m/s because he could vault pallets with scamper. His slice & dice can universally be used on any loop in the game. Blight's rush cannot be used everywhere, especially not with removal of his hug tech being removed.
he had guaranteed down every 3 hits with frank tape. if anything, legion is weak 4.6 m/s killer now and he is remained like that for over 4 years.
0 -
Are the people who say blight is difficult playing on gamepad?
5 -
I never even implied that, although I think every one but Deathslinger is at least above average right now. A 110% killer being buffed to 115% is a sign that that specific killer was too weak in chase, nothing more. They've made the reverse change as well.

him being 4.4 will have little to no effect on good blights or blight mains. However that would make him even less aprocheable for new players . That's like making billy 110% , only his real mains would stick around for that .
1 -
You can’t just play blight for the first time and get a 4k
Sorry but yes, you can. I'm pretty sure it took me several matches for me to lose/draw a match as Blight for the first time back then. Pressing right click is not "a lot of mechanical skill".

4.4 killers are killers that can get hits with their power on nearly any loop, and so they are forced to do so for value. Blight is very strong on larger loops with few turn. On shorter filler tiles with which are often round or have sharp turns his power will likely not get a hit unless the survivor really messes up. Therefore blight should be 4.6 so he can deal with these situations effectively without his power. If blight still had hug tech I might agree with you if he was given some minor compensation buffs, however current blight has enough clear and effective counterplay and disadvantageous situations that the 5% speed penalty is unnecessary.

Yes, Hag and Deathslinger are both bad and underplayed 110% speed killers.
0 -
Neither is bad. I usually dominate with Hag in particular, but don't take it from me (<115% killers highlighted):
Hag is definitely underplayed, though - thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realize she was so low nowadays.
The general point still stands. All I'm trying to say is that there is no merit to dismissing 110% speed killers on the basis of them being "terrible" and "nobody [wanting] to play that trash".
1 -
Nah Hag's bad lol, even her mains have been asking for her to be buffed to 115% for years by now, so that tells me anything I need to know about her. Deathslinger mains seem at least more confident in his abilities but there's so many 115% speed killers with better antiloop powers than him by this point that he's comparably weak. And frankly even Huntress is hella overrated considering how map dependent and easy to loop she is.
0 -
Nah, I don't think his power is strong enough for him to be 4.4m/s.
0 -
This.
Now that hug tech is no longer a thing, there are many loops where his power is literally unusable. If he was 4.4 he would suffer more.
Chucky is a 4.4 yes, but he has the same hitbox as a survivor, which means in loops, he actually is looping faster than a 4.6 killer does due to being able to hug the wall better. So the 4.4 there is mostly there for the map traversal.

When are people not asking for buffs for the killer they main? Again, the bar is not high here. All we need to argue is that 110% killers are not inherently bad/underplayed/unfun. If you happen to be low on a certain 110% killer, fine, but the majority of them are played plenty and perform well.
0 -
bhvr been trying to stop with 110% killers. If you look at all the last chapters minus chucky everyone is 115% now. Chucky might aswell be 115% around loops since his hitbox is so small.

And yet several are still in the game. They could have gone back to change that at any point; I'm sure it's a one-line change in their code. And yet, they didn't. They seem to have no problem with killers being at 110%, especially when they're strong in spite of it.
If you have a quote from the devs saying they want to move away from 110% killers, please share. Otherwise the sample sizes are such that it's not really clear they're actually making fewer 110% killers. 1/12 vs 4/25 killers at 110% (ish - depends where you divide the new vs old killers) isn't a big difference. If the next killer were 110% they'd be basically the same proportion.
Blight is arguably overpowered at the moment and 110% wouldn't hurt his ceiling much. It would just raise his skill floor. Do you have gameplay reasons to think he shouldn't be 110%?
