Survivors holding game hostage by not doing objectives

when survs know they've lost, or even just want to troll, they can just hide and not do objectives, holding the game and killer hostage to try and force a DC.

there should be a penalty, or notification crows, after a certain amount of time of not just not moving, but also not engaging either the Killer or the objectives of the match.

surely the Entity is just as bored with this situation as i am.

please consider this, BHVR.

thank you.

this is a serious problem with no way to counteract it. it needs to be addressed. ruins the game.

Yeah, they might as well just end the match once it's down to two Survivors, because the game is lost at that point. Not only is it nigh impossible to complete the remaining gens, but it's also pointless, even if they somehow succeed. There's still the problem of getting out through the exit gate. The last gen completed will notify the Killer of the location of the Survivor(s) who finished it, and that person would undoubtedly get chased, and it's very unlikely that they'd reach the exit gate (assuming they're headed to the one their teammate is opening) before they get caught. If that person isn't on death hook, it would still be an extremely risky endeavor for just one person to save them, and would likely fail 99% of the time. I personally feel it's not worth that risk. If the third Survivor is on death hook, then the final one can get out (unless the Killer slugs the third person and comes straight for the fourth, resulting in their getting downed and hooked/killed as well).

the goal of the survivor is to survive. The goal of killer is to kill. I’m always looking for a key for hatch in a chest or something when the doors are so close together or you have a killer who likes to camp both doors. If I’m lucky I’ll find a key and escape through hatch. How do you know what they are doing? lol 😂 and you do get crows for being afk. If they were afk you would know. Holding a game hostage is when you are body blocking someone in a certain area making them unable to proceed. You could go look for those survivors but decide to stay at the doors. It’s kinda your own fault for not playing the game yourself

"Survivor" is just the name of the role. The goal of the survivor is to escape. Escape means doing generators and getting out through the exit gate.

You keep mentioning doors. I'm not sure why, survivors can't hold a killer hostage once the doors are powered. The original poster is talking about the situations where there are two (or sometimes more) survivors left and the survivors refuse to touch generators.

Holding a game hostage is when you are body blocking someone in a certain area making them unable to proceed.

That is one way of holding the game hostage. It is not the only way. The devs have stated on multiple occasions that survivors hiding and refusing to touch generators for an indefinite period of time are holding the killer hostage. Here's one such instance of a mod explaining hostage situations:

you're making a lot of assumptions here about doors and such. doors weren't powered and they stopped playing the game essentially.

since they were not injured, nor running, i can't track them by scratch marks nor sounds. as someone else said, they just skulked around the edges crouched, and were switching lockers.

i did in fact hunt them down and after an exceedingly long time i luckily found one in a locker, and then the other in the basement.

as others have said, it is reportable and indeed is holding the game hostage. there should be guards against this. if the survs aren't interacting with anything for a certain period of time (totems, chests, healing, gens, doors, the Killer) they should get idle crows.
