Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY DBD

Idk what the hell the SIM card and internet shi is about but considering that the game is now cross progression enable and practically all games like Fortnite, Roblox, etc, you don’t need a subscription and it’s dumb now that’s it’s still there cause PC don’t even have to pay a dime to play DBD, just get the game and that’s it while console gotta deal with the month subscription which has raised up overtime and made it harder for people to get it. Say you get the PS + subscription for a year which is now 80, used to be 60, times that by the amount of years you will play DBD, let’s say 7, 80, 7 is $560 just to play DBD for that specific time and again, not a time for PC $0. Yell at me all you want , yap at me, put the dogs on me, do it I’m waiting

As long as console users don't massively understand consoles companies are scamming them with their "network" subscription, they'll continue to get milked.

I mean, yeah the 80$ a year for PS+ is rather annoying but I would hope you're not getting it just to play DBD. At that point I would just go to PC if that's your only game you play online. PS+ also comes with a few free games a month and at least for me, I get my monies worth out of it. I play quite a few of the games and more often then not there is at least a couple a year I was going to buy anyway. Deadspace is coming this month which is exciting as that was one my wishlist'd games.

But yeah, if you're getting PS+ or whatever the Xbox equivalent is only for DBD, then I would either switch to PC or save up now and then to try and buy one.

This is not a DBD problem, this is a console problem. PC players don't have to pay a monthly subscription to play their games, on any launcher or game.

Look into buying a decent second hand computer, it's worth it over console. No better time since BHVR just added cross progression. You can use a PS controller on PC too if you prefer to play that way, but you need either a USB-C to USB cable or Bluetooth on the computer.

I can't believe I got the game on PlayStation without checking to see if you had to pay a PS Plus fee! I wish you didn't have to pay for stupid subscriptions just to play a game! Is this really just about the money for PlayStation and Xbox?!?

Ps4 started this for Sony, I had a Ps3 back in the day and didn't need to pay for online. Either way, yeah, this is a console thing and a huge problem but not one BHVR can fix lol

For a moment I thought this game just rolled out irl ID checks involving cellphones; i was worried because I know people who refuse to own cellphones

DBD costs money on PC, on xbox it costs money to play any paid game online, playstation I don’t know how similar it is but all i’ll say is take it to microsoft and sony as online subscriptions shouldn’t exist at all, you don’t gotta pay for fortnite and roblox because those games are free

I hope you are aware that it isn't BHVR that is charging you to play dbd online, that would be the console, so PlayStation, Xbox, Switch. Also I'm not sure that you are aware of the fact that dbd does in fact cost money to play on pc.

How so? I don't pay a monthly fee to play DBD like console gamers do.

By this I meant that you have to purchase the game… here in Australia I had to purchase the game for $40 and as such that was my fee. On console, the online subscription (which you pay for on monthly/yearly installments) comes with game pass or ps+ which includes dbd as well as other games. Both console and PC technically have to pay to play the game, it's just console companies scamming the average consumer into paying for online services on top of that.

Which I think everyone here understood and you didn't need to remind us. I was specifically talking about how Steam (in my case) does not charge me a monthly fee to play DBD, like Sony and Microsoft do.

    Stop moving the goalposts.

Sony and Microsoft need to stop charge a monthly fee or make it way cheaper then it is now like back to 60 this 80 crap to to go.

Guy is confused. DBD is only free sometimes for promotion purposes. I've paid more money playing DBD than any game to be fair bc of all the sweet cosmetics amd rift passes. But to be fair you only have to pay for the game once.. to technically play. The rest is extra if you enjoy the game.

I'd have PS+ regardless of whether I needed it to play online. Over the course of a year it more than pays for itself with all the free games.

FTR, I also have a gaming PC and game it a lot, but I have no issue paying for the PS+ sub.

But I suppose if a console is all you have and you just can't afford the sub, it'd be pretty annoying.
