2v8 Returning Soon! (Also: The Post Pigeon Retires)
This just dropped an hour ago — it's the schedule for the dev stream of tomorrow, detailing the halloween event, as well as what to expect in the next month or so.
Side note that I didn't want to make a separate thread about:
Veteran forum users will know that I'm one of the resident news-sharing posters. Well over half of all my threads ever made on here are of me, well, sharing news. Typically minor news such as Store Codes. I started doing this because most announcements made by the devs are on Twitter, and that little widget that displays DbD Twitter posts doesn't appear in General Discussions, where most people will be looking. And that's not even mentioning the people who only browse the forums on mobile, where it doesn't appear at all, afaik.
As such, easy-to-miss announcements such as Store Codes and Teasers were frequently, well, missed by those who only frequent these forums. I was, in my mind at least, alleviating that just a bit.
You may also have seen me off-handedly mention that I recently deactivated my twitter account. I'll spare you the details, but it boiled down to mental health reasons. I haven't deleted my account per se, but I also don't expect myself to be returning, at least not for a while.
You can see the problem, though. Me deactivating my twitter account makes it much harder to continue my "role", for the lack of a better term, as self-proclaimed forum post pigeon.
To that end, I figured I should let y'all know that, in effect, I'm retiring from that role. I'm sure @CountOfTheFog will continue sharing news, as they have done alongsides me for a good while now.
I'm not leaving the forums, but you won't be seeing (as many) news stories from me from now on.

This will be the first Haunted by Daylight event I'll actually be around to play, the other two happened while I was taking breaks from DBD, hopefully it will be fun, and I'm confident this second iteration of 2v8 will have Freddy available.
My favorite killer can't be excluded from a modifier for the third time… right?

I always appreciated the ppl who would posts Twitter stuff like those codes. I'm one of the people you talked about who don't bother with Twitter and only access the forums using my phone.

Haunted by daylight was so sick last year. I loved the portals and everything. I hope they don’t change too much.
I can’t wait for 2vs8 to return and to play it with my friend again, but the wie times 😳 Freddy will hopefully join.

I would like to reiterate that I am not leaving the forums. I'm just gone from twitter, which means I won't be able to share news from there, even though it's the primary source of "minor" news such as store codes.
The birds aren't going anywhere just yet!

Firstly as someone who does have a lot of mental health issues (not twitter related) I'm genuinely glad you see & issue & are taking care of yourself!
I do use twitter for wor but rarely check out anything beyond that these days so secondly even though I don't post so much your updates were appreciated. Likewise as were count of the fogs (won't tag been tagged enough)
I hope you find yourself in a better place mentally & I hope you'll continue to enjoy your time in game, on here & just in life in general!
Quick edit so say also can't wait for 2vs8 I cleared so many old tome challenges on that mode!!!

Thanks for everything you’ve done. There’s so many codes I would have missed if it wasn’t for you and others thinking about all of us who only use the forums.
On a personal note- you’ve always been very kind to me here on the forums. I’m glad you’re still sticking around 😊

for survivor, it was sick, yes but for killer, it was really hard to do the objectives to get bonuses because while your feeding shades at same speed, survivor is doing gens. so it was like negative gen pressure for killer to get haste and undetectable.
Hopefully they just buff shades for killer so that killer can actually benefit from event….. and not ignore entire event because throwing games. I played skull merchant through out entire event it was a blast.
Unfortunately since SM is dead, this year, i'll be playing clown for entire event. super speed clown is going to be awesome.

As someone who stays off Twitter for mental health reasons, you and Count have been lifesavers for store codes. So, thanks for all of the Post Pigeon news you've shared. My killers and survivors definitely have appreciated your efforts! 😊
