Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Hide keys from both killers *and* survivors

Please, I beg you, do not tell people when someone has a key. We all know about killers tunneling people with keys, but team mates also play differently when someone has a key.

I just had a game where I tried to do a "Survive with Quentin" daily. For double safety, I decided to carry a key.

I was doing gens, taking chases and such. Two of our team mates died, I was wounded and this Steve was next to me. I run away when I hear the terror radius, he obviously follows, and I crouch a couple of times to ask him to heal me.

I thought he was asking me to go do generators, and I was trying to tell him "Yes, I will, but heal me first", yet he would not have it. He'd constantly drop his item and at the time I didn't know what he meant, but after the game I realized he was asking me to drop my key for him.

He was getting annoyed and made some noise and scratch marks everywhere. At the time, I didn't realize why he was doing this, but regardless, he ended up bringing the killer to us. The killer, obviously went for the wounded player. As I was trying to go away so he'd at least do the last gen remaining while I looped the killer, I realize this guy is hiding in a corner waiting for me to die.

I brought the killer back to him and at least he got wounded, but eventually, after sandbagging me, the killer ended up downing me.

As you can imagine, the player went to my hook, took my key, and tried for hatch. Even after all of that, he was unsuccessful.

The worst part is that I had the highest score on the team, and he had the second worst, only better than the one Nea that stood AFK from the beginning of the match and gave her first hook to the killer for free.

So, to summarize. Please, please, please… don't show people you have a key. It makes them play in awful ways. I know you're planning on maps and key reworks, but for christ's sake, don't do anything without fixing people trolling when they see one in game…

OR you can put it in a secret place at the beginning of the match until the hatch spawns for you.
The broken keys & all other keys have the same 3D model. they should be modelized in a different way.

If you bring a key in the lobby killer AND teammates should know you have this item.
That because keys & hatch are designed in (approximatively) at the period when the hatch can be spawn closed on the map as soon as the number of survivors still alive are equal of generators waiting to be repaired +1. In this way, coordonated survivors could all escape by the hatch. Now hatch works in a different way.

So the killer should know if he needs to focus a key holder in priority. And teammates have to know if they need to pick your key on your hook where you are sacrified.

Dropping repeatedly an item avoid to scare crows & it is sometimes 'useless' to be sneaky when the killer is looking for you…

No idea but usually I don't like to face on a key holder (avoiding to be chase or lurking for the hatch as last survivor).
But you are probably right, bringing a key means nothing…

Sorry I only saw it now, you should probably tag the message you're awnsering to xD

I've never seen a huge difference between them to be honest, most of the time they play pretty normal I think. Like I said I ignored them completely, maybe they were the survivors that always annoyed me with hiding? xD

Maybe yes. You are probably right, I can't tell neither. Except at low MMR, I just don't play against one of them…

Well at my mmr with people between 2-8k often there are close to zero keys at all. So I couldn't even try to watch what they do at the moment xD

They should remove keys entirely. Having an item that grants a free escape after loosing is dumb.
