The thing is, this can happen. Freddy was very popular after the Rework and players in general liked him. They did not care that he was boring, because he was easy to play and very strong.
Personally, I would prefer him being mid-range and fun to play over him being strong again as before and boring to play. But I feel that quite a bunch of players care more about how powerful a Killer is than how fun it is.

I don't mind the lack of cosmetics, to be honest. I just want Freddy to be fun and unique again, as he used to be.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I might stop buying new content until BHVR shows they care about the value of my previous purchases. Otherwise, it's like tossing money in the trash. I know I probably won't change anything by myself, but at least I’ll feel better knowing I’m not wasting money every time an investment gets ignored, in favor of new content.

I blame SM (Skull Merchant) for it.
They are putting so much work into that killer (Constant buffs\nerfs\reworks she had) - she is now taking most of developer's time…
I would rather them to work on Freddy and Mikey instead…

I guess I missed that part of the live stream. Massive shame, Freddy deserves so much more. I hope they've spent so long cooking because they have something to show for it, rather than getting another Twins situation.

True, but I feel like the Twins was left on the back burner for so long because they are so unpopular pick rate wise. Nobody really cared much. Nobody was pressing them to hurry up with it.
Unlike Mikey and Freddy who have the masses constantly asking for them to get some love.

The Skull Merchant was changed quite a few times, yes, but her rework has already been scheduled for 2025. As you've said, other killers like Freddy and Myers should take priority.

This is so disheartening. Freddy was the first killer I ever played and he has a special place in the DBD part of my brain. I always find myself going back to Freddy. I really really hope the lateness of the rework is because they're taking their time with it to get it right.

Gosh I can’t believe so much time has passed.
When I heard on the livestream that his rework is being pushed back I felt so bad. It’s hard not to imagine freddy kicking a can down a dusty road.

Just to note: Since Freddy enjoyers were waiting so many years for his rework…
I expect him to see more useful kit, updated face (to be more in touch with movies), voice lines and his own chase music.
Other than that wouldn't be enough after such long wait time!

Just for my license geeks out there. Wes Craven's Estate owns the license for Nightmare on Elm Street and they have since like 2019. So, I would assume the door is cracked, maybe even a little further open now for Robert Englund voice lines…

GOD - I am so so sorry my friend. Nobody should have to wait this long to play a license character that is already in DBD. Its just crazy. Push back the tweaks for plague and cenobite. Freddy needs to be on the list ASAP NOW SHARP.
