After 3 years (or less?) I'm back to playing...here's what I think about the game now.
In the last 3 years I haven't played anymore because of the constantly changing meta and the basic imbalance of the game between Survior and Killer, the constant grinding to level up characters and unlock new perks and content... however these days through a friend who we've been playing together for a long time and we met in other games he told me that because of cross-play he wanted to try playing Dbd again... considering that years ago he had played on PS4 but he didn't feel very comfortable and always wanted to switch to PC but without losing progress, so I gave him a hand on the synchronization of progress via BHVR account and I explained to him a bit of things (from what I remember) about how the game works and more, mainly we played the limited time modes like Light's Out and Chaos Shuffle but lately we've also been playing normal games, I basically abandoned the game a while ago because I didn't know anyone to play with and many of my fellow countrymen (apart from some streamers I know) don't play much Dbd because of the problems I mentioned at the beginning, however, playing with this friend of mine I rediscovered a bit of the desire and the "fun" let's say ... to play this game from the survivor side ... playing alone Q 2-3 years ago before I abandoned it was just making me nervous and bad blood, but playing with someone to collaborate with and you can get in tune a bit in the game made me rediscover that feeling of not being alone that I always had in solo Q, among other things I found the progression easier and even faster ... even if I hadn't played for a long time I always followed the changes from the outside and tried the PtB on steam every now and then to preview the new changes, but I admit now leveling up and getting new perks is less frustrating than before ... and not only that, I also found doing the "Battle Pass" of Dbd easier and less frustrating and more rewarding both on the free and premium side, and it's another aspect of the game that I never liked and never made me want to to invest time and money to complete the previous passes, it will also be that now with each event BHVR adds "Extra Tomes" containing challenges and extra Rift Shards that help you speed up and reach higher levels. I talked about the improvement in the pass... I don't know if it was already from the pass before or not but I'm happy that now in the pass both free and reward there is a balance in terms of rewards and in game currency that you can get... I like now that after 15-10 levels you can get 250 iridescent fragments which in my opinion helps new players quite a lot to unlock new characters, and the fact that in the free pass you can get many more outfits now... on the other hand the free pass now also offers interesting and unique rewards, like the two new outfits for Yui and the Spirit which are really interesting and unique both in terms of animations and visual effects, I like the idea of the Deep Rift to encourage people to do more levels after passing level 70 of the pass (which is the pass cap in DbD) for another 15 extra levels of rewards and then for a total of 200 levels if you still want to do more levels and receive some more Bloodpoints to level up the characters unlocked in game, overall I'm satisfied with what I saw and maybe I have a little more desire to go back to play...maybe not like before but with my friend yes.
Even if Dbd has "let's say" improved and made progression and unlocking content easier for new players... it still has some flaws, for example with the recent price increase and inflation everywhere the prices of DLC have increased, but what's worse is... even if now BHVR has decreased the number of DLCs that can be purchased (leaving aside the DLC Licenses) the old single DLCs of the old chapters are no longer available... this can be a plus or a minus... a plus because the new player has less DLC to buy... a minus because he is forced to buy a larger but more expensive bundle to have more original chapters unlocked... unless he buys the auric cells or accumulates iridescent fragments and buys the characters in the game... but perhaps one of the biggest basic problems (and perhaps still serious) is the basic price to be able to play the game... a 2018 game that still costs 30 euros/dollars (+ add the paid DLCs) and really a big paywall for new players and this can also be a risk in investing in a game that maybe you can't like... in the past and still now I tried to convince someone to play but the fact that some of my friends didn't like the idea of investing 30 euros/dollars to play Dbd has always stopped me from inviting other friends of mine to play the game... I understand that this could also be a way to prevent cheaters from invading the game if Dbd was free (which is ultimately useless because basically cheaters are and will always be everywhere), but the entry fee to the game of 30 euros/dollars + from consoles you have to pay the subscription to the console you play on to play the game...and an investment...I'm not saying that this should change but in my opinion after almost 9 years now that the game has been around it is a big brake for new potential players in an era where an entry barrier for a game for some players is a problem...on one hand because many don't want to spend too much money and because economically some can't afford to buy a 30 euro game...or maybe they wait for Dbd to be discounted during the holidays...or they don't buy it..I'm not saying that BHVR should make the game FtP with this (even if...with all that you already pay for between DLC and Pass) and already a lot maybe...but at least consider the idea of giving the possibility of making the game FtP permanently and not only on certain occasions...

I like how you barely commented on the game but focused mostly on the grind outside it.

Please, OP, work on your sentence structuring. It's such a dense wall of text, it's really hard to read. Part your text up a bit, use a bit less conversational language, if you're also not going to part the text even a little, and last but not least, cut down on some of the unnecessary filler text that doesn't add anything to your overall topic.
Here's an attempt to boil down half of your text to be more managable:
"I haven't played in the last 3 years because of the constantly changing meta and the basic imbalance of the game between Victims and Killers, the constant grinding to prestige characters and unlock new perks.
However, a friend told me that because of cross-play he wanted to play DBD again. Back when we last played, he played on PS4, but he didn't feel very comfortable and always wanted to switch to PC, so I explained a bit about how the game works and more.
Mainly we played the limited time modes like 'Lights Out' and 'Chaos Shuffle', but lately we've also been playing normal games. I abandoned the game a while ago because I didn't know anyone to play with. Playing with this friend of mine I rediscovered a bit of the desire and the "fun" from playing Victim. Playing solo-queue 2-3 years ago was just making me nervous, but playing with someone to collaborate with, getting more in tune with the game, made me rediscover that feeling of not being alone that I always had in solo-queue.
Among other things I found the progression easier and even faster, even if I hadn't played for a long time I always followed the changes from the outside, and tried the PtB on steam every now and then to preview the new changes, but I admit now leveling up and getting new perks is less frustrating than before.
Not only that, I also found doing the "Battle Pass" of DBD easier, less frustrating, and more rewarding both on the free and premium side. It's another aspect of the game that I never liked, and never made me want to invest time and money to complete. BHVR also adds "Event Tomes" with new events, containing challenges and extra Rift Shards that help you speed up and reach higher levels.
I'm happy that now in there's free rewards in the pass, and there is a balance in terms of rewards and in game currency that you can get, like now that after 15-10 levels you can get 250 iridescent fragments which in my opinion helps new players quite a lot to unlock new characters, and the fact that you can get many more outfits in the free pass. The free pass also offers interesting and unique rewards, like the two new outfits for Yui and the Spirit which are really interesting and unique, both in terms of animations and visual effects. I like the idea of the 'Deep Rift' to encourage people to do more levels after passing level 70. For another 15 extra levels of rewards and then for a total of 200 levels if you still want to do more levels and receive some more Bloodpoints to level up the characters unlocked in game.
Overall I'm satisfied with what I've seen, and maybe I have a little more desire to go back to play… Maybe not like before but with my friend, yes."
I hope this might help you.
To address the topic of your post itself, I'd like to hear what you think of the game itself, and not just the Rift Pass, DLCs, and Store content. You didn't mention anything about game mechanics at all.

My post was for both topics, both the game and the rift, but answering your question, the game let's say that compared to how I played it some time ago it seems to have improved a lot in terms of the variety of Killers I find in front of me and the number of games I win or lose... and of course since my friend and I play in 2 sometimes we find random incapables or imbeciles who die in two seconds, this can be annoying at times... I understand that many will be new players... however do not tell me how and why, sometimes the Killer does a sort of "favoritism" on some survivors... letting them escape or farming them for the rest of the test... this can sometimes be fun or frustrating depending on the situation, overall I find the game slightly improved (with its bugs) but "slightly" improved.

Grinding in my opinion is part of the gameplay in a game and is important for progress and progression as well as improving your gameplay.

(Edit: I did it, I've read what you wrote, yaay!)
I'm totally agree with you on a gameplay. The game improved A LOT. It still have some holes here and there but overall it's nice.
The grind on the other hand… A little overstretched. Waiting for some perks to appear in the shrine, without spending your money on a character can take up to 6-8 months…
With amount of events there are no real problems with bloodpoints and shards. IMO.

Little refreshing to hear less doom and gloom in fairness.
Makes a nice change to hear someone else is enjoying playing DBD... sometimes it's hard to not think I'm the only one xD

Variety of Killers
Yeah, many new Killers came out in the last 3 years, some better than others (subjectively).
Favoritism
That's something that will happen. I experience it, too, I have no idea what it's about. Who knows.
Bugs
Bugs still happen with varying regularity. I experience funny bugs (like Victims T-posing at random times), and on a less frequent occurances gamebreaking bugs (like huge patches of the map missing texture and objects, making Victims, but not Killers, able to run outside the map), but seems to happen mostly after major content updates or patches.

Yea i tink wen BHVR start doing more event offen and wen put a limited mode in the game with a special tome Blood Points (And rift fragments of course) make "less" grindy the levelling of the character…on the shrine topic i disagree…i prefare buy the character and get at prestige 3 instead of wathe and get on the scrine the perk+ for my is a waste of iridescent shards…

Dbd it still remains in some ways (as a Killer for me more than anything else for example more than as a survivor) a very frustrating game... but less than what I remembered for some aspect... I repeat maybe because together with this friend of mine who we have been playing together for a year now together (even other games) I have more fun ... I think that in the end it always depends on who you play with and how the other players behave towards you ... when I played at the beginning I met several people (even my compatriots) who played the game ... but over time towards the chapter of the skull merchant I think? many had left the game or started playing alone ... that was the period that I abandoned the game also because I couldn't find anyone to play with.

The grind is metaprogression - an invention to drive engagement without having to provide compelling gameplay. It's a cheap psychotrick that far too many gamers care about. Nothing of note would change if Bloodweb, Rift, Iri fragments and Devotion level suddenly vanished except maybe fewer people would throw matches for archives.
How does that improve gameplay?
