Is MMR Decay real? If so, is it only for Killers?

I have read conflicting information on this for Killers and absolutely nothing on Survivors.
Is it true your MMR drops if you take a break from the game? If so, only Killers?
I could have sworn a dev once said they were implementing it for Killers long ago but I'm unable to find it.

MMR doesn’t drop if you don't play for a while, but it becomes more 'volatile'. Which is to say if you come back from a break, your first few games back will have more of an impact. Lose your first game and your MMR will drop significantly, and vice versa.
