Why only 3 new Killers in 2v8 returns?

Why did you add Spirit and especially Blight to 2v8 before other earlier Killers? Why not add Doctor or Freddy (This one for you Freddy main) or Oni or Myers or Pig or Demogorgon literally way more fairer options then these two annoyances.

Cant wait till Devs reveal the buffs they get is Basekit Cherry Blossoms for Spirit and 3 more Rushes for Blight

Finally only 3 new killers is to little you can add 2 more at least we got 30+ killers the lack of Variety is gonna make 2v8 boring still

you do realize coding takes time right?

there are so many bugs that can pop up if a single variable is changed that the game could just not work at all

Their powers are also fairly simple and straight forward with their power. Other killers i see being more difficult to add. Licensed killers prop can't. Killers like Plague that adds environmental props when there's already so much clutter. Some like Legion and Oni would beway too strong with even more survivors to mess up or powers are rather complex like Doctor or Knight.

Probably because they won't require as many adjustments to fit into 2v8.

Doctor is complex and would require a lot more done to him than just simple tweaks like Blight and Trapper. Doctor also drops frames for some people and in 2v8 that would just be much worse, so it would probably be better to fix that before adding him.

Also adding popular killers like Blight is good in the long run because it hopefully means every game won't always have Huntress.

Giving Doc a bigger blast radius is not a complex thing its a simple number and if he causes fps drops thats on Devs for poor optimization. oh yeah now we just have Blight and huntress Funnnnnnn

You do realize the same exact logic can happen to these three so your whole argument is invalid shall we just add nobody? Add a ton of killers fix the bugs as they come

You dont need to give them a rework? Just number tweak buffs and a team power which is its own thing

yknow you didnt make my argument invalid at all right?

all you pretty much just said was ¨yeah bugs can happen so your argument is invalid¨ so thanks for confirming what i said then saying its invalid

Out of all the Killers you mentioned, who would be your top three to have added this go-around?

Im surprised it came back. I only played it to get the cosmetic stuff and the insane amount of BP. Once they took that away I stopped lol.

Kinda disappointed that none of my favorite killers like Hag or Twins will be playable yet but I can understand why.

Having a bunch of survivors wiping away hag traps and having one survivor hold victor limits their powers when there’s 8 survivors. They’re likely just thinking of ways to balance them out.

To be fair, they could just delete the Alarm Clocks for 2v8.

That actually would make Freddy slightly better. No more immunity to falling asleep (which, just like the Clocks themselves, should have never been added). And it makes adding him to 2v8 a bit easier.

There's a lot of things to consider. Regular DbD only ever features the one killer, so it doesn't have to worry about how another killer would interact with the various powers.

In the first iteration, the killers were fairly straightforward, with only Trapper presenting a real issue as far as interactions go. Should all killers be affected by the traps as well? If so, some will require new animations, since they can't just borrow Trapper's. Nurse especially comes to mind here. If other killers are not affected by traps, then should Trapper himself also not trigger them?

Then there's the balance issues. Billy got his direct instadown capability removed, and instead got a teamwork skill that applies Exposed. In effect, it's a sidegrade that nerfs Billy himself, whilst not just making him a worse version of himself.

All killers require such an overhaul if they are to work in 2v8. With movement-based killers like Blight and Spirit, that's easier to work with, since it's much easier to tune up/down some numbers here and there. They also need to have an ability that allows them to complement the other killer, regardless of who that is. And it has to make some modicum of sense for them.

And what about killers that spawn props? Should they still only spawn 4 boxes/crates/clocks, or should we bump that up to 8? What if you have two prop-based killers? You might risk not having enough spawns, which in the case of Pig would be a rather big issue. How many traps should Pig even have? She has 5 now, which is already more than there are survivors, so where would that number end up?

    There's a lot to consider.

And that's just considering those factors. Actually implementing them takes time, and even then it might not work as intended, or have side effects that weren't considered.

I couldn't really say what the specific reason for it is, but it seems that licensed killers are also off the table for now. Might have something to do with the license holders not wanting their flagship serial killers to cooperate with one another, as it kinda takes away from what they are.

Oh so, there is a chance that some of the licensed killers will never appear in 2v8?

    That's a really bad news.

This might be a hot take, but if the licenses are so restrictive that they are interfering with your ability to develop the game by adding in additional skins, modes or power changes, then I think maybe something is fundamentally broken and needs to change.

    Cheer up!

I'm pretty sure Freddy's license holders wouldn't mind to see him along side other killers!

Remember Jason vs Freddy? :D "Or was it Freddy vs Jason…"

I mean Freddy is the only character in the game with no cosmetics aside from prestige. The license holders aren't great with things like that.

…like even Bill has outfits at this point.

Oni could be added easily with hillbilly treatment. His power would now only take one health state and in exchange give him higher turning rate and maybe bit more speed. Oni should be added rather than blight or deathslinger because those killers are not playable/viable on console. Blight, nurse and spirit are more OP than Oni and still all are in 2vs8 now on.

You mean huntress+deathslinger. double ranged killer boys. it is going to be hilarious when survivors like dodge a hatchet and than get hit by harpoon gun. some interesting moments are going to be experienced as survivor.

Doctor and Freddy both are abit more intensive when it comes to lag. They're probably worried about lag heavy characters in a mode that will already stress your console/PC due to having increased players.
