SOLO QUEUE IS UNPLAYABLE/ SWF IS BROKEN
First and foremost I want to say that I play both roles so I understand the true struggles of this game.
I want to establish the power dynamics:
SWF is 10 billion kilometers in the air, then killer like 100 meters in the air and Solo Queue is in the pits of Tartarus.
This game has to have the WORST Solo Queue experience out of any game I have ever played in my entire life.
Without exaggerating every second to almost every game mates instantly unalive themselves on the hook, get tunneled out of the game at like 5-4 gens meaning the game is unwinnable realistically speaking for the remaining 3 survivors (if you know you know the solo queue classic experience) or you get slugged for no reason whatsoever at literally 3-5 gens….
I want to be honest with you guys I have absolutely no clue what changed. Just what caused this to happen? Solo Queue is in my opinion in its worst state it has ever been at and I have no clue how it happened. All I know is that this gaming experience is so unbelievably miserable that I couldn't take it anymore and just had to uninstall and I'm not going to give it another chance unless they truly address these issues…
The same happens to killers: Immediately seeing someone off themselves on hook early game is just not fun… You just know that this team lost because you play solo queue yourself and know how miserable the experience is… What is the solution. Hurry andd finish the game or f around with them. IDK.
SWF is just plain broken and I believe it always will stay this way. An approach I would recommend is a system that recognizes that people are playing together (2, 3 or 4 stack) and give only them an action debuff to everything they do: Repairing gens 5/10/15 percent slower, healing just everything slower. Let me know what you think about this take.
All in all I just want to make this game more enjoyable for everyone especially for the solo queue survivors, not only because I am a part of that group who just faces the misery head on basically every single game, but also because I feel like the solo survivors are really the backbone of this game and unless we make it more enjoyable for them too (Basekit things maybe idk many people are against the idea of basekit unbreakable) or maybe an action buff for every hook stage/kill the killer got or something. 2% faster repair speed for Solos per hook the killer got (12 hooks meaning 24% faster repair speed as the game is literally heading into the end game) or 5% flat action buff for every kill meaning if 2 are dead you make everything 10 percent faster or just something ffs.
I guess you can tell how miserable and cooked I truly am. I do believe that they will do absolutely nothing, just add more skins to the game and chill until the game eventually dies in 5+ years…truly a sad thing to witness the decline of this game. I also only created this post because I saw a lot of other people complaining about survivors GIVING UP but they never ask themselves just why they are giving up? I donÄt think that they do it to make the game more miserable for their mates. It's just a price the other 3 have to pay for something I guess….tunneling especially at 4-5 gens robs the jobs out of the game and IMO makes it totally understandable to just off yourself on the hook and go next. Just my opinion tho let me know about yours.
ANYWAYS this is enough ranting about this topic. I sure hope they do something…but don't get my hopes up too high tbh.
Well I wish y'all a lovely day and see ya…maybe eventually back in the fog :)

I'm not sure what happened either. I feel like it's been going downhill for the past couple years. I've been mostly playing killer this week despite the incentive being on survivor. Not even the extra bp is enough.

I feel ya. I might give killer a shot but then again I really enjoy just playing chill survivor games with the additional exciting chases :,D sad that that's basically not possible anymore.

Stats shows 2 and 3 man swf makes no difference so would unfair to nerf them and I might remember 2 man swf having lower escape rate than soloQ. Punishing 2 or 3 man swf will punish also soloQ.

I am a 50/50 killer/solo q player and I understand your frustration with solo q and SWF. On the killer side, SWF is pretty unfair as survivors effectively get a ton of info perks for free, the entire teams knows exactly where you are at all times, they can very easily coordinate who is doing what, and can easily get in position for pallet/flashlight saves. The game was not designed to be balanced around that, but as long as enough people are still willing to play killer, it's not ever going to be nerfed.
On the solo q side, it has become increasingly clear to me that the real problem is not the lack of information/coordination that SWF teams enjoy, but the horrific state of matchmaking and measuring skill in the game. I have >2,000 hours in the game and consider myself a decent but not great survivor player. My solo q games are fun and I feel I have a decent chance of escaping IF my teammates are also decent players and know what to do in certain situations. The problem is that I am constantly getting matched with brand new players who have no clue what they are doing, refuse to touch gens, run and hide even if they know someone else is being chased, hide in the corner of the map to self care, get downed 10 seconds after chase starts, etc. It's not a problem of killers being too good - it is a problem of teammates being too bad. Unless BHVR changes the way matchmaking and skill level measurement work to actually reduce the chance of you being matched with brand new and/or terrible teammates, solo q is always going to be this super-frustrating experience.

SOLO QUEUE IS UNPLAYABLE/ SWF IS BROKEN
Hrm. You probably have right yes. As right as @I_Cant_Loop says trustful things.0 -
What happened is that the game became hostile to casuals. Too much complexity, too many cheap playstyles allowed, and too many horrible changes that disproportionately affect casual players like the Self-care nerf from patch 6.1.
As the casual players left, the game became sweater, which made it even less casual-friendly etc. It's a vicious cycle, and it affects everyone, because nobody wants to play against sweats. If you pay attention you'll realize your best games on both sides are almost always within the first week of vacation/events, when the player count is high, games feel more relaxed because you're playing against people who don't play it 24/7, but then matches become miserable again as casuals progressively leave.
This is also paradoxical because both sides don't realize how much they hurt themselves by suggesting to nerf casual playstyles for the other side. Let's take Self-Care or Distortion for example. I never use these perks as survivor, they are just bad. But I've seen killers demand nerfs to these perks, and that couldn't be more counterproductive: they probably think "nerf survivors so killer will become easier", but that's absolutely not what happens. What really happens is, the Distortion/SelfCare users aren't good players, they contribute to making your matches chill as killer, and once you delete SelfCare/Distortion, they just stop playing. So, instead of getting matched vs. 3 genrushers and 1 Claudette, you'll now get matched vs. 4 genrushers, and your matches will feel harder, not easier.

I don't think the difference between SWF & Killer is that big to be honest. Killers still win a significant amount of games against good SWF teams. The fact that they balance around SWF & Killer is what makes solo queue so miserable. BHVR is so scared that any significant buff to solo queue would just make SWF god mode and killers would stop queuing or lobby dodge any suspect SWF.
I definitely agree that the solo queue experience is probably one of the worst I've experienced in a long time and there's no signs of it getting better anytime soon.
BHVR has obviously made a decision that SWF & Killers are the most important players occupying the game. Solo queue players at this point are just cannon fodder for killers to have their wicked way. The amount of mistakes or bad plays a killer can make and come back to win these days is ridiculous. Killers barely even need to be able to mind game anymore to land hits or downs.

Something I cannot understand is why are we even talking about nerfing SWF, these are the real minority of players! Killers that says they are always facing swf are lying, they get good solo q players that get some coordination, but then you see the statistics of these killer mains and they win 8 or 9 out of 10 matches, are you kidding me? How come SWFs are a problem when you win almost all of your matches man?
Solo Q is miserable and whats most frustrating for me is that forum mods are always avoiding these trheads, so that tells you a lot on how important solo q experience is for them, zero to none.
We have "solo q miserable experience" threads every day, i dont know what else do they need to happen so they do something, at least try something else on a PTB, thinking outside the box, instead of buffing teamwork perks in a game where you have zero comunication with other teammates, so the chances you have some value from these perks are really low, why should I use any of these perks instead of DS, or UB, to at least try to have a few more seconds of chases in the tunelling and slugging meta?6 -
While I disagree with SWFs height placement, it doesn't change my point. Worrying this much about SWF is like being scared of last day of the month. It always does happen, but it is very rare overall. 4-SWF only accounts for ~5% of players. So even if it were a free win, 100% escape rate if you played SWF, that only gives 5% wins for free, 95% are still contested. On top of that, they aim for the 60-40 kill/escape rate, so that would mean soloq has even worse odds than 60-40, since 4-SWF is taking 5% of those wins.
SWF is a red herring issue.

I've said before that the game should should show on the post-game screen who was in a swf just so people get a wake up call on the fact that, no, they're not facing seal team 6 every game
6 -
After the trial, yeah they can show who's playing together.
In my head I see a light blue glowing chain connecting a SWF, and perhaps a darker blue for a second team if present.

No to saying who's in swf.
The Randoms will be tunneled and camped.
Unless they implement a system like Choy suggested.

Tbh this is the sad issue- Asymmetrical PvP games are near impossible to balance around both pre-made squads and solo-que players at the same time. TCM even shown that they sorta just gave up on attempting this anymore by making a mode that actually just outright prohibits the ability to form a pre-made squad and, therefor, stopping people from playing with friends. This showed that it is a bit easier to balance games like these out if you just prohibit pre-made squads altogether, but it's also a bit discriminatory towards groups of players who want to play with their friends and also makes it harder for people to make friends in matches.

Just add in game voice chat, maybe in game quick text commands that can be customized and hotkeyed to a button to instantly say something like "I'm being camped", "I'll go for the save", "I have DS" things like that would significantly improve the solo q experience

If its post game like he said and you didn't read, you don't know who to tunnel if your one of those players.

I think that the more seasoned players might have reduced their play time if they didn’t already just quit and what we’re left with are new people used to playing fps games and can’t handle a game like this. They’re too used to being able to respawn and having equally balanced opponents.
Asymmetrical games are rather niche and lots of people expect perfect balance thinking if they play good enough they’ll win and that’s not the case with dbd since there is too much RNG and the fact that the solo side is inherently stronger than the “optimal” team side.
It also doesn’t help that Survivor is harder than it looks and that it’s expected that they’re going to lose a lot until they get better. Nor does it help that the game does nothing to properly teach players how to loop and counter Killers. Don’t get me started how bloated the game is with different variations of Killer powers and perks that you have to remember.
