Discussion regarding Aura Reading perks and Distortion (I like new distortion)
Right off the bat, to everybody complaining about aura reading perks the Developers will notice through their statistics which they share with us on their social media showing us a handful data normally relevant to an update released prior. They will notice the increase usage and will most likely buff or nerf them accordingly, that's common sense and Behaviour has operated with and why recently perks with lower usage rates have been getting changes on both sides to encourage different playstyles and builds. The vast majority of these aura reading perks require the Killer to perform an action or the survivor to perform an action for it's usage, this is most likely why changes haven't happened to them as it isn't just allowing Killers to see your aura in a base kit scenario (of course, a few perks like Lethal Pursuer come in mind), despite this though these perks literally have cooldowns and only a single usage to prevent them being used consistently, if this was the case it would be more problematic than what players are claiming now, and if Aura perks are in play and if you're aware of different perks than the typical meta you can typically act upon that usage to prevent them getting the advantage through the usage of perks or running away to a new location to get ready for a chase. But it's quite interesting, before it was the constant posts complaining about gen defence builds, anti heal build or whatever, now when the Killers shift to a new playstyle you complain about too? Of course you are, you are experiencing a different playstyle that's new and requires you to change the way you play the game, and many survivors or players are stubborn and don't adapt to this leaving them to get poor matches, and then come to the forums and complain. Furthermore, Survivors literally have stronger and better aura reading perks that the killer can't even counter reliably as well Trouble shooter, Alert, Wire Trap, and Kindred are a few perks in mind which can give survivors insight in chases, during hooks allowing communication and not forgetting about the key add on which gives you zero collision and wallhacks if used appropriately, without an requirement or cooldown. And guess what, the killer won't know about this stuff until the end of the game and neither can they even counter it, as it effectively eliminates all mind game potential.
Regarding to Distortion, the old version was really unhealthy for the game and lobbies due to the players that used it with builds. First of all, in the case of using the old version with the current increase of aura reading it would immediately go through all tokens faster than what you think, this leaves more people to complain, vice versa… And the developers fixed the issue with this perk, awarding tokens by engaging with the killer and being in a chase. The perk no longer awards you to hide away and do nothing which directly hurts the team if you're hiding the entire match and not contributing in the progression of it, and the developers are removing the teammates that sit around the edges of the maps effectively being useless, looking for an easy hatch escape. This perk change is really good and makes it more balanced now, and preventing the terrible playstyle is encouraged players to do. Engaging with the killer is important, and part of the game for a reason. If it wasn't the developers wouldn't make specific achievements or rewards centralized around this. The perk is now designed for helping you loop the killer and avoid all aura reading chase perks like Zanshin Tactics, I'm All Ears, any aura reading perk or effect including add ons is now useless in chases with this perk, and this and many other experienced and matured players are absolutely fine with this new change as it removes the old versions uninteractive, boring, scummy, players that punishes killers for not bringing slow down perks with their one aura reading perk or add on.

I hate the change because distortion helped me when it came to safer saves and split pressuring gens. Now I just feel like a fish in a kiddie pool with nowhere to go lol. Saves no longer are safe and all I get is high mobility killers that are slaughtering us. I don't really know what to do. Can't try and give my teammates a chance to reset or even get a chance to play after getting unhooked. I guess we will have to see as time passes what happens overall.

I mean……they shouldnt be safe? I'm not saying a killer should be gaurenteed to get anyone right off the hook. But with that same mindset, survivors should also not be guaranteed a free reset (unhooking someone and getting them back to full health with no risk whatsoever.)1
