I am back… New Blight discussion

Hello everybody, it’s been awhile. Your favorite dirty blight main is back and I wanted to talk about the changes to blight (hug tech removal/collision rework).

While I’m sure a LOT of you are very happy for these changes… I must admit, after playing with him for a few weeks, he feels terrible now. Everything is so sticky it makes him feel clunky. Not to mention, the STILL haven’t fixed any of his bugs (double fatigue, rush overlay bug, back bumping, etc).

The saddest part, I have spent THOUSANDS of hours on him, mastering his skill expression. Insane hug tech spots, double backs, moon rushes, etc.. I spent hours and hours memorizing his collision on every map.. and it’s all gone. It truly feels terrible and I am one sad blight main. I wish they had stopped at the add ons. Yes, he is still strong… but he is only a fraction of the fun he used to be.

Hello again, and I hope everybody had a good weekend. :)

I've not played him much since the changes.

I've never been much of a Blight (I only use his power for traversal and opportunity hits) but it did't feel right after whatever change they did.

I don’t like how stiff he feels on most maps with clutter. It gets very frustrating knowing old bump logic and it just straight up not working anymore. I dropped blight after nerfs.

I'm not a blightmain and you might have more hours on him then I do as a whole, but I liked to play him before and even I can tell how horrible this have to feel. I didn't even use moonrushes too much or something (more normal hugtech-180s) but alone the fact you can't hug loops thight with rushes because you can't do 180s anymore otherwise (because you bump at the end-corner of the loop then) feels so bad, not to mention doorframes and thight indoormaps in general that are near unplayable at least for me.

I feel like they should just have made his hugtech basekit and tweakable with different stats, that way they could have made it more balanced without taking every single tech blight had and make him feel so empty to play .

And yet the use of that "bug" (that was pretty consistent and made his gameplay much deeper and more interesting on both sides. That's why I said they should have made it a tweakable feature) had more skill expression than some killers as a whole xDDD

Knowing where and how to pull off these rushes effectively is absolutely skill expression.

Honestly I'm not too sad about hug tech being gone considering his collision is remotely consistent now. I'd be lying if I said I didn't kinda miss it though, and I don't think it should've been removed.

However, stuff like double fatigue, back bumping and crouch tech still being in the game is wild. It needs to be fixed urgently.

he is still the 2nd or 3rd best killer in the game. He is fine

I stopped playing him after the collision changes. It is just frustrating to get stuck on everything, especially when you know how it was before.

It seems like many people misunderstood what OP wanted to say.

Yes Blight is still a strong killer, but he’s a lot less fun to play without the hug tech, especially for OP since he had spent so much time mastering it..

To OP, honestly I don’t really know what to say to make you feel better, but next time try not to master any ‘tech’ since they have more chance to get ‘fixed’…

(The same can be said for every single thing in the game though, everything is subjected to change. That’s why I never really ‘main’ any Killer…)

strenght wise i perform the same if not better now with him . He is certainlly lower on the fun factor since bump logic and flicks is basically all you have now . Double fatigue being left as is for this long is insane as this bug can at times be gamechanging . I just wish they would fix the bugs and maybe walk back on the soul chemical and summoning stone add on changes ( those add ons were unique and not strong so why did we make them boring and bad for no reason ? ) . Other then that it's fine . I know hug tech will never be added back and honestly he is still on of if not the funnesg killer for me so it's whatever . Those bugs need to be looked at for sure tough as it is a major source of frustation.

i kinda disagree, doomfist from overwatch for example is literally a bug mess, but the bugs are what made the character fun, the amount of places you can use to slide with your punch and gain height, the amount of movement techs to escape a lost team fight etc…

i think bhvr should embrace the bugs and work them out to be part of the kit, making balance changes obviously, just like they did with the knight, guard distraction was an insane bug that made knight guards almost useless if they were alone, but they added an effect, made balance changes and called it a day, same with guard replacement, they re-introduced the bug to his kit, made balance changes and boom, he´s more fun now

and even before, distracting guards was skill expression, you´re showing that you know how the character works

So what’s your take on Knight’s Guard ‘Vault Tech’ Bug? It’s been made into feature, and now that’s even more skillful than Blight’s hug tech?

Bug or Feature, it all just depends on Devs.
