Ghostface is such a weak killer. Why is nobody mentioning ghostface? This killer deserves some love ❤️‍🩹

Give him some good buffs, bhvr!

I have already suggested buffs for him multiple times. The main thing I want for him, is that he won’t get kicked out of power by hitting/injuring/downing someone.

i do well enough with him and dont use his stalk ability, i find it not that useful for me, time spent stalking is time wasted on a hit to have to chase them down on a timer fore the 1 hit or them to see you and run off wasting it.

His stealth and crouch ability is strong enough particularly in indoor maps

I'm not enough photogenic during his Mori to talk love about Ghostie 💔

the problem with instant down killer now a days is that it doesn't take into account the time it takes to mark survivors. a good description is marking survivor is like setting traps as trapper. you invent idle time as killer to set mark "traps" in order to get a future reward. often, the time spent takes longer then just finding a survivor and doing regular chase with a strong anti-loop killer.

I post some changes, 3 exact changes that would improve ghostface's situation.

looking right at him sounds fixable but the game also has no way of knowing if you the actual player is actually seeing his precense.

Idk am tired of staring right into his face and I still get hit with exposed.

Well the thing is in any of those scenarios based on distance and what happens afterward its gonna happen anyway

If you down a survivor they will reveal you during the blade wipe

If you hit a survivor with any amount of los they will reveal you during the blade wipe

Scenario 1 is just senario 2/3 but less specific so theres only 2 examples

And realistically with these buffs not much happens. He could chain downs while undetectable on 99ed survivors but seeing the slug kind of nulls that point. He could hook someone sneakily?. Franky most of the time it just avoids some cooldown that a normal ghostface would spend hooking and buffs slugging power which isn't the most fun gameplay.

I'm not a game developer by any means, but Unknown's mechanic works perfectly fine and isn't buggy by any means. From what it seems like there really is no reason why Ghostface's reveal mechanic is as broken as it is now.

He's the only killer I know who literally doesn't have a power if the survivors just swarm you/try for saves. Like even Trapper can put up a bit of a fight if survivors run around him... but Ghost Face has literally nothing if he didn't get his stalk off successfully, even then has a hard time in an unfavourable map with an aggressive squad on comms.

If m1s didn't reset stalk, or downing a survivor caused everyone nearby to get stalk, or even if he just had Killer Instinct if ever he downs a survivor to known someone's near, something to help him when players swarm him

As long as we don't have an unknown situation where you can cleanse still for 3 seconds when breaking LOS

  • Devil_hit11

i mean if only one survivor follows you as trapper, you can't trap anything. a whole team swarming trapper makes entire trap power worthless. you might as just camp 3 gens or basement.

Pretty much my point... as bad at it is on Trapper, you still have more with him than Ghost Face if a team is just following you preventing you from ever stalking…

i think stalking still somewhat possible but you have to use his power at correct time and in the correct places. i have went against a lot of these type of teams/ they're pretty tough to beat if the players are good. i agree gf needs buffs for higher level of play. Maybe he will show up in the road map one day. for now i am willing to wait for Freddy and Myer's. Peanits said a road map will come soon. I suppose we'll see what is changing soon.

Or why not put all killers tweaks and changes on hold until Freddy gets love first. He should be priority right now. Although I will say as much as I hate Ghostface he does deserve some love.

Ghostface isn't weak. Most players don't know his set ups and stalk angles, so they think stalking isn't viable because they're trying to lean out from a rock 10m away from the survivor. You just need to be able to see a pixel of a toe from max range through a crack in a wall to stalk a survivor. His stalk doesn't have range fall off.

The only major buff I can think of is not cancelling his Night Shroud on marked downs. Reward marking multiple players a little more by not putting him into cool down on instadowns.

Because he's already a fun killer to play as and against for the large majority of the playerbase

Not everything needs to be made with viability in mind. As long as its fun, that's all that matters

And yet in the last 28 days he has 4 killers lower then him in kill %.

Ghost Face and especially Sadako are not the weakest killers in the game.

I had a ghostie stalk throughout the match, never touching gens. He would occasionally get into chase, and 99ed all of us. When the last gen popped, he marked, slugged, and hooked us. Only one got out cause he was in the exit gate, too afraid to leave cause he knew he was 99ed too. I honestly wasn't even mad cause it was clutch, and he used his power tactically. It was beautiful. I'm def calling skill issue here.

If you down a survivor they will reveal you during the blade wipe

Not if they don’t look at you, because they panic or if there is stuff blocking line of sight while they run away.

buffs slugging power which isn't the most fun gameplay.

This is such a stupid take. According to this argument every buff to a killer power, buffs slugging. We already have trail of tourment and other undetectable perks and they don’t increase slugging.

This also only the major buff I want, I can list more if you want to know them.

While this is true, some reveals I got were quite silly. One time I did not even know who the Killer was, just that the Survivor was hooked in the Basement. I was nearby, so I went to shack and were hiding next to it and suddenly I revealed Ghostface without seeing him, giving away my location. He was somewhere on the edge of my field of view.

And yet, you can follow him and look directly at him and nothing happens.

Sure, it should not be TOO easy. In general, I dont think it is too easy or too hard to reveal him currently, it is just that it can be very inconsistent. As said above, sometimes you can follow him, have him in full view and nothing happens.

Objectively, he's not even bottom 5 , within a couple percentage points of the top tier at top 5% MMR. Unless we're using the word "objectively" incorrectly today.

    Interesting take

But again if the idea is you don't lose power when getting a down allowing you to chain multiple downs in one power use…would that not equate to buffing his slugging ability?e

  • Langweilg
    Langweilg Member Posts: 1,261

If you want to see it that way, then yes. I just want to play him as a killer with permanent undetectable and since ghost face has no real power, it would be fine. Revealing him is also easy af.

But honestly you can call every killer buff, a buff to slugging as long as it makes downing survivors easier, so I don’t consider this a solid argument.

  • bjorksnas
    bjorksnas Member Posts: 5,615

It disproportionately buffs slugging so its a slugging focused buff. It doesn't do much else there are better buffs to make. Not losing stealth when injuring a survivor I can see it because it allows you to chose between a exposed down or hitting someone sooner to push them off objectives while potentially leading to a stealthy chase without having to wait for the cooldown on maps with low los or when hitting survivors through windows or around corners. Not losing when downing a survivor doesn't feed into any other gameplay loop besides slugging.

They spruce up the numbers every year or so but as long as he only plays 2 notes its not like he is gonna be a very in depth character.

    3.0.1 buff

    3.3.1 buff

    5.3.0 buff

    5.7.0 buff

    7.0.0 buff

And while its about time for another coat of paint idk if a slugging buff should be it.

While I don’t think it would be a problem, keeping his power by injuring and loosing it by downing is fine to me.

Please explain to me, what you mean with that?

It might be because for ghostface you need to actually see him while for unknown you just have to put your camera in its general direction. And ghostface did actually worked like this on ptb, issue was as a survivor as all you needes was to look in his direction you could just spin your camera while on a gen and it would reveal him no matter if you even knew where he was. Idk how they could fix it, as if they implement the unknown code we would be back to ptb ghostface and a meme killer like ghostface doesnt need a nerf, however the reveal mechanic needs to be worked on.

He is a stealth character, and he is a character who can expose survivors

    Those are his two notes

Now in terms of buffs what can you change

    Stealth numbers

    cooldown

    time to break out of

    when he breaks out of

how long you get killer instinct when broken out of

    Expose numbers

    how fast to expose

    how long survivors remain exposed

His character is relatively 2 dimensional where most of his numbers are self contained or slightly affect how the other numbers will play. Changing the cooldown doesn't change how long a survivor remains exposed for example but it might affect uptime.
