Can we make smoke bombs a permanent item?
Flashbangs/firecrackers have and always will be my favorite item not just for getting saves but more than that, in chase. I was always good with them in chase, blinding killers even before the sound got all messed up and making zoning killers like wesker, demo, huntress, etc miss or look away so I can safely reach then next tile.
Smokebombs let you do all that and then some. Only missing out on saves but i think that is fine for all the uses i got out them so far. They are easier to use to help other survivors mid chase, can be used to pick up slugs off the ground without them going back down instantly and so much more. Great anti tunnel tool for yourself and others. Example, killer came back to tunnel hook and I dropped the smoke bomb giving the person about to be tunneled the opportunity to get away.
of course if the killer has good sound and pathing then you don't get as much value but that's the same as blinding them.

I actually ended up getting out of a tricky situation on Autohaven with the smoke bomb as I dropped it at the exit gate and he had Blood Warden.
It was a beautiful moment, so I definitely think they're a fun addition to the game.
If I didn't have the smoke bomb, I'd 100% would have died that game, lol.

My problem with that idea is that Smoke Bombs are pretty much free blinds, with no need for timing or aiming at the killers face, and with no way for the killer to avoid it. Plus, they also seem to muffle sounds, which makes them even harder to counter. If anything close to that ever became permanent, it would have to be weaker in comparison to the event version. The current one is fine and balanced only because the killers also get crazy strong tools in the same event.

I get what you are saying but if it become permanent, then there would be obviously requirements to even get one. If something you bring then, only one person survivor which isn't bad whatsoever. Or like flash bang requires survivors spending time doing certain actions. So there would never be to many where it's harmful in away.
I just played several matches on killer and they are definitely not strong than flash bangs. Easier to use but the distance gained by survivors if they do juke me with it, its always minimal. Sprint burst, lithe, or any exhaust gives more distance and Chem trap as well and those have 20s to 40s cooldowns. Even champion if light gives more distance.
It's mainy just an anti zoning tool and a oh #########. This might help if played right.

I want this as a perk really bad. For an example, repair 40% of a generator and enter a locker to get the smoke bomb, like Flashbang.

It would be pretty darn broken if it becomes permanent with this version now.
It’s basically free blind without any skill, with a pretty large AoE enough to cover most loops, for a long duration. All these combined together makes it basically a free escape in most loops.
Imagine throwing one in middle of jungle gym, you have so many places to run away, while Killer has no clue at all but to guess.4 -
These kind of items are usually prototypes/tests for future items and perks I have noticed! Firecrackers were event items and then came too in the shape of a perk (Flashbang). If they like how it plays out and the players enjoy it they might consider making it an item or perk (or something that plays similar) in the future!

wouldn't that be completely unfair on certain maps and just lead to people finding those said maps then using offerings + the perk in combination to be goobers

Id love it as a permanent item… but also, can also please get the Putrid Serum as a year-round thing we can use? Im tired of the Putrid Serum ONLY being usable during HBD.

I wouldn't mind it myself.
They're not OP and are just a tool for mindgaming. Mostly to make the killer guess window or not, situations like that.2 -
They would need to be toned down as they are pretty much a free escape as they are now. Maybe reduced visibility as opposed to complete invisibility and probably reduce the AoE.

It can be as Firecracker, 1 time use item and it will be completely fine. If we make it as perk, it should be way more limited. 1 for every 100% of gen repair at least.

I get completely disoriented when a smoke goes off. The current event ability SEVERELY favors survivors over killers. Every single time it's used, I either lose chase or lose distance.
If someone with 1700+ hours can't handle it, I don't think it should be integrated in this state.

Hopefully they make them an item in the near future and add an addon for firecrackers and the smoke bomb, which increases them to 3

I would love for it to become a permanent item. If it detonates too quickly for it to become problematic, then just make it take a little longer to detonate.

they are very good thing for shaking the killer off during the chase and other cases but no thanks, in current state they are an overkill to be a permanent feature

I want this so I can throw down a smoke bomb every time I run out of the exit gates or jump in the hatch. I've been throwing flashbangs on the hatch when I jump in and saying "smokebomb!" when I get to the lobby for a while.
TLDR: I need these smoke bombs for meme purposes.

I would enjoy if Smoke Bombs was perk the same way flashbangs are. Smoke bombs are interesting and special, tho not as useful as flashbangs imo.
But I think bHVR would do a huge mistake to sleep on this type of Killer/Survivor interaction and just keep it as event item.
