Honest question about recent DBD Events.

From forum posts, streamers and youtubers the general consensus is this event as well as the last few events 2v8, lights out, etc. have been arguably killer sided. Just wondering if this is a trend that will continue like a balancing of the scales due to the normal game play being noticeably SWF survivor sided like lets throw the killer mains a bone? I get wanting to please everyone but when both sides are commenting on how it's imbalanced for one you would think that point of fact would have come up in developing the mode no?

    Oof so the game is just overall tipping killer sided even at the high mmr… So do you think the Dev's are purposefully tilting the scales that direction?

    yo guys, the "high MMR" you are talking about can be reached as a completely new player after ~100h of playing the game as either side, hope you are aware of that next time you lose against "high MMR" survivors or "high MMR" killer that turn out to have <500h into the game

    This is going to continue that way because people have convinced the devs an asymetric game cannot be balanced around a 50-50 win rate and insist that the killer being the power role means killing everyone in 9 out of 10 matches, with 8 out of 10 being survivor sided and 7 out of 10 being an awful killer experience with every other match facing bully squads. The power role should not get less than 4 kills on average per match and that's why every once in a while you'll see people complaining about mechanics like the hatch because it makes killers lose matches out of pure RNG and not pure skill.

    This is why events are usually balanced like "Survivors get reduced pain sounds while crouching. This effect is disabled for 60 seconds after touching a generator, healing, blessing, cleansing, opening a chest, picking up an item, using an item, unhooking or getting unhooked." and "Killers get to kill survivors remotely from the other side of the map".

    of course, if people are less interested in playing killer they will buff the killer like the current balance where the balance is in favor of the killer so they can have fun, and conversely if the survivor is rarely played they will buff the survivor.

    with how strong tiles in void is, even with broken and exhausted status effects, you can hold a long chase against the killer.

    Not when every killer has an anti-loop. How often do you actually go against an actual m1 killer anymore I almost never do.

    2v8 was very fresh conceptually and hard to judge from both a design & balance perspective.

    Lights Out was just poorly designed. The candelabras brought nothing new or exciting to the mode and were actively detrimental to hold as a survivor because of the light giving you away through walls. There was really no reason to interact with them on either side outside of tome challenges.

    This event is kinda just all over the place. On the one hand, chases in the void are very unique & refreshing, and I hope they take notes for future map design. I also like memorizing portal locations for cheeky map traversal, especially as killer. On the other, the killer power is annoying to go against (woo an extra layer of zoning and 2-taps woo), and it takes way too long to get to the altar for anyone…unless you're Dracula…hmmm…

    All in all I kinda like this event. Wish it wasn't yet another shade of blue. Like sheesh, really, the event designers are obsessed with blue.

    When i say high mmr, i generally refer to high skill. MMR has 0 meaning and hasn't since they tried to "optimize wait times"

    To be fair, the most balanced event has to be Chaos Shuffle, since no one runs their meta builds all the time on either side. Plus, you get to switch up your playstyle to get value from the perks you are given.

    Now, I didn't play much of the Lights Out mode to really get much experience, but from what I heard, it was killer's paradise.

    2v8 was really fun, especially playing killer with a friend. Survivor was kinda "meh" in that mode, not gonna lie. And that was reflected in the 5+ minute queue times for killer.

    The April Fools mode (My Little Oni) was interesting, and fairly balanced.

    And finally, the dreadful Haunted by Daylight mode that we currently have.
    Unless you are a 4-man SWF, don't expect to have much fun as survivors, unless the killer is just goofing off.
    What really kills the fun are the ranged attacks that the killers have access to (Haunts). Makes for many unfair hits.
