vault limit and bloodlust as a map design crutch
these mechanics are used to justify loops that are otherwise unacceptably long and unwinnable

Without them, or at least one of them, the only way to balance 'loops' would be to make them viable only one time around before the killer would be guaranteed a hit, at which point they're no longer 'loops'.

Not to justify them. Just act as a safeguard. Possible being able to collect data on zones it’s used at for the purposes of a smoke test. And a handicap to assist a Killer possibly struggling in an area, to keep the match flow going.

Bloodlust may have been created as a bandaid for infinites, but i think they stay because it reinforces the philosophy that you're not meant to ever be invincible or hold the killer for eternity you are meant to go down eventually. Bloodlust helps temper that expectation of 5 gen chases.

It stays because when the devs tried removing it (after removing the last old infinite) people complained. With the way maps are being redesigned even without bloodlust survivors cannot hold killers for 5-gen chases. I do foresee that bloodlust will be removed eventually as more maps are redesigned. BHVR seems vigilant about trying to keep things somewhat balanced. They can have killer busted maps but also killer busted mechanics.

sure but than mechanic should appear a lot slower to not affect regular chase gameplay… such as 60 seconds. the mechanic should only occur if survivor is exceptional at the chase and a problematic loop is being used. i guess being ultra-bad as killer could be the other reason.

or if one loop leads to another loop. There are several tiles in this game that are right next to other tiles. Two moderate loops next to each other is equivalent to one very strong loop

i do think we could have bigger maps again if they just add a minimum pallet requirement to spawn like 60mm for strong loops but weak and medium loops could spawn 15-20 meters between them. Windows can have the same to

The better thing would be to make every loop/pallet/window mindgameable. That way each one is a proper interaction between killer and survivor where one has to outplay the other.
